    I just got it used recently and was surprised by the chromatic aberration. Glad to get a confirmation on it from your video. I'd have to experiment with aperture, etc. to assess its strengths vs weaknesses. Liking it so far except for the CA.

      @cwqmedia 2 дні тому

      Yeah it’s a good little lens when taking the chromatic aberration out of the equation. It’s definitely worth experimenting with different apertures to see if the CA is less severe, luckily for video the CA isn’t much of an issue. I was actually using the lens on my camera for this video and I never noticed any issues CA wise.

    I keep seeing reviews claiming that this system is stereo capable. I recently got the ECM-W2BT. I only get mono recordings whether I use a stereo mic or even try recording music from an mp3 player. There is one mono channel. No stereo.

    • @cwqmedia
      @cwqmedia 10 днів тому

      Hey mate, I think Sony stated that the mic will only record stereo audio when it is using a stereo mic plugged into the transmitter via the 3.5mm audio jack, I'm unsure if the ECM-W2BT itself can record stereo audio without any additional mic plugged into the transmitter. This is what I found on the Sony website; "The ECM-W2BT works with an external 3.5mm stereo mini-jack and audio input to facilitate stereo sound pickup. It can be used in conjunction with a stereo-capable lavalier microphone, namely the ECM-LV1 which can be easily attached to the subject's clothing and record audio with added realism." - Sony I also found this on another website in regards to the stereo audio capabilities; "If you need to use an external microphone, the ECM-W2BT supports stereo audio input via the onboard 3.5mm port, which is a perfect pairing for the ECM-LV1 Sony has announced alongside the ECM-W2BT. This new lavalier microphone from Sony features an omni-directional mic capsule, a 360-degree rotatable clip and an included windscreen. It attaches to a the ECM-W2BT - and is powered - via the 3.5mm port." - DPReview.com From what I gather the ECM-W2BT alone with not additional mic being used only records in a mono channel due to the transmitter mic only having one mic on board, same with the receiver, it only has one microphone as well, even when recording with both the transmitter and receiver the audio is still in mono. For what ever reason Sony decided not too keep the transmitter and receiver channels separate when recording from both at the same time so that it would make it easy to switch mics in post editing. It honestly doesn't make sense to me either, I don't know why Sony would do this for, except maybe they didn't want to undercut one of their more expensive wireless microphones, but unless Sony speak up on the topic sadly all we can do is speculate. I hope this info help's in some way. Regards, Corey.

    Sorry sir if my question is a bit presumptuous, why did you choose the R1000T4 series compared to the R1280dB/T? The actual price difference is probably not that big (In my country the difference is not that significant.)

    • @cwqmedia
      @cwqmedia 26 днів тому

      Hey mate, the main reason I chose the R1000T4 over any of the other Edifier speakers is down to the price and availability, and I didn't want the Bluetooth feature as I have no use for it. The price of the R1280DB is roughly double the price of the R1000T4 in my country, so that was a factor in my decision to buy the R1000T4. I hope this was helpful!

      Hey mate, it’s not my car (I was just filming it). But I do remember that the wheels are 17x7” with 205/40R17 tires, no modification required to fit them, but the car is at stock height.

    I also have a R1000T4. They look gorgeous, and sound great for the price. But, in any case, do you ever feel the need to equalize this speaker? I had the impression that they were lack something, but I couldn't pinpoint the exact area-I guessed it was somewhere in the mid-region(?).

    • @cwqmedia
      @cwqmedia Місяць тому

      In the time that I’ve had these speakers, I haven’t felt the need to change anything about the sound that they produce, however I did go into the settings in Windows 11 and switch off any sort of signal enhancements or sound improvements that windows 11 automatically enables from default. I also change the format of the audio on my sound card to 24 bit at 192,000 Hz. I found that doing this gave me the clearest sound I could achieve, however sound is quite subjective, and what sounds good for one person may not sound good for another. Another thing that can affect the perceived sound from the speakers is the room that they are in and if there are any reverberations or deflections in the room or perhaps even things in the room that can absorb a certain frequency, audio engineering is quite a complex thing, however I’m no expert in this field.

    • @eqsetiawan
      @eqsetiawan Місяць тому

      @@cwqmedia Why, thank you so much for your thoughtful answer. Your explanations all make sense. Aside from that, I believe I jumped to conclusions too quickly when comparing the speaker's sound to my headphones, forgetting that my headphones have their own bias. Me being silly.

    • @cwqmedia
      @cwqmedia 2 місяці тому

      They’re still going strong, not a single issue so far. With the bass, you can turn it up to the desired level. For the size of the units they do produce a clean bass response even at the max setting on the bass knob at the rear of the driver speaker. I still definitely recommend these speakers wholeheartedly, they’re awesome little units!

    Great video! I just purchased this microphone. Do you have any tips on how to eliminate the background noise when filming indoors?

    • @cwqmedia
      @cwqmedia 4 місяці тому

      Thank you so much! So the only things I can recommend are things I’ve done myself to reduce unwanted noise while recording in my media room, and that is too turn off any fans or computers, close any windows that could bring in noise or wind and close the door to the room so that the ambient noise level of the room is low enough that the cameras microphone control algorithm will adjusts the sensitivity accordingly and hopefully this will lead to a reduction in any unwanted noise, another option is too buy some sound absorbing foam panels for your walls, you can get them in a variety of colours to suit the room. Apart from everything mentioned above one other option is too use a digital “noise reduction” option that is common in most video editing software, just use it sparingly as noise reduction in most video editing softwares reduces the static noise at the cost of quality of speech in the audio, I generally use maybe up to %10 or lower in my videos just to remove the higher frequencies from the static in the audio but this does depend on many things such as the location, the “noise floor” or ambient noise of any given place or room, the proximity to highways/freeways and airports all come into consideration with audio. Hopefully this was somewhat helpful!

    • @natalierivas8578
      @natalierivas8578 4 місяці тому

      Yes so helpful! Getting the absorb panels as we speak. And yes I tried to eliminate the sound on Imovie to like 85 percent and it sounded ridiculous 😂 but ill just try 10 percent cause the more I mess with it, the more I get confused on what sounds better. I'll use the other tips as well. Thanks so much. Have a wonderful day ✨

    since some time has past since u posted this, how has ur opinions changed on either sony ecm mics ( i already have the gz1m, and thinking about buying the g1)

    • @cwqmedia
      @cwqmedia 7 місяців тому

      Yeah my thoughts on the GZ1M are still pretty much the same as in the video. It’s a very good and cost effective option for more focused audio like in interviews and general talking in front of the camera stuff. However with the Sony G1 mic, I can’t understate how practical and all purpose the mic is. I find myself using it around 80% of the time. The main use for me is vlogging and similar style content, where you are both in front and behind the camera and wanting to talk and have the mic pick up your voice clearly. This is the main advantage of the G1 over the GZ1M. The main disadvantage is the price of the G1 compared to the GZ1M, but for the practicality and general all round use case it is worth it for myself. I do have a video on the Sony ECM-G1 mic on my channel so if you need any sound tests to get an overall sense of the quality then I highly suggest checking it out.
