I spend countless hours filming and editing and going out of my way to gather awesome content to share with you. I film mainly in the Sault Ste Marie Area where the famous Soo Locks are located however I do travel else where once in a while to get footage from a new location. I always share my videos and photos. I do not use AI on anything for UA-cam. I believe in my own work and can appreciate it more without the use of AI.

St Marys River Traffic Upclose (8/23/24-8/24/24)
Here is a different type of video for this channel. A short montage of three freighters sailing on the St. Mary's River seen from our boat.
Its definitely a unique Experience being up-close to these monsters. The photographs which are included in the video turned out very well and I cant be happier with them!
The Tufty was upbound on 8/23/24 for a load at Thunder Bay for grain.
The Edwin H. Gott was Upbound for Two Harbors Mn to load Taconite Pellets for Gary Indiana
The Solina was Downbound with a load of Grain from Thunder Bay Ontario

CSL Assiniboine- "Clear This Fog Would Ya" (8/25/24)
Переглядів 13219 годин тому
This video documents the CSL Assiniboine Upbound on the St Mary's River heading for Superior Wi to load taconite for Quebec City. Fog horns could be heard for miles from the vessel just like the Indiana Harbor that was documented in my last video. I'm sure the crew were excited the fog was cleared in the harbor! The Assiniboine also blew a salute which was just satisfying to here that squeak-gr...
Indiana Harbor- Monster Appears From the Fog (8/25/24)

This video has the MV Indiana Harbor Upbound on the St. Mary's River heading for Two Harbors Mn to load taconite for Gary Indiana. She blew some fog horns that could be heard for miles. I only put one blast in so the video didn't seem so chopped up. She did salute which was awesome!
Lee A. Tregurtha- Ghost Ship and A Spooky Horn (8/25/24)
Переглядів 363День тому
Here we have the MV Lee A Tregurtha upbound on the St Marys river heading for Marquette Mi to load taconite pellets for River rouge Michigan. This run is her normal and does this nearly every trip! Its was very foggy for the arrival of the Lee A. Tregurtha. Sounds from her whistle could be heard for miles along with the MV Saginaw that was just arriving at Algoma steel above the locks. She has ...

This video documents the 1000 ft Burns Harbor downbound on the St. Marys River loaded with Taconite from Superior Wi. There destination was there Namesake port- Burns Harbor Indiana. This is a typical run for this thousand foot vessel. With out a doubt this vessel is massive. She is one thousand feet long and 105 feet wide. She nearly takes up the entire little rapids cut seen here. Leaving lit...

This video documents the Thousand Foot James R. Barker Upbound on the St Mary's River heading for Silver Bay Mn to Load Iron taconite Pellets The crowd gathered for what they thought would be a massive Barker Bark. No doubt we got a bark from the James Barker, it just wasn't the massive one given by Capt. Newland gives every time he is on board passing though the soo.

Переглядів 20714 днів тому
This video documents the Thousand-Foot Walter J. McCarthy Jr upbound on the St Mary's River heading for Two Harbors Mn to load taconite. She was a Silent Giant as she creeped up the river. It was about 7:30 In the morning so I really didn't expect a salute. Crew was probably getting some well deserved sleep. Nonetheless the sunrise made up for it!
Barbro G- Having engine issues?? (8/23/24)
Переглядів 3914 днів тому
This video documents the MV Barbro G. Upbound on the St. Marys River heading for Thunder Bay to load grain at dark. As she was upbound, it was very obvious she was creeping along very slowly doing only 0.5 nots. Usually ships will do this because there's another ship in the lock they are going to take. Rather getting close and tieing up and worrying about being in the other ships way, its best ...

This video documents the MV Atlantic Huron Upbound on the St Mary's River with a load of Coal for the Algoma Steel plant in Sault Ste Marie Ontario. She got the coal down in toledo, I suspect she is filling in for the runs Rand Logistics couldn't do due to the loss of multiple of their vessels. Here we see a wave from a celebrity chef- @ShiptoShoreChef Catherine Schmuck! She is known for her wo...

Nice! I like how this turned out
Thank you! Editing the video was fun!
I do like her. She’s another unique looking ship. 😊
It hurts my ears through my phone
@@eliskis2024 just a loud ship horn.
This sounds like she’s operating astern but doesn’t look like it.
You would be correct! The wheel house is on the stern on top.
Fabulous video!!! Thank you for sharing!!!
You are very welcome, Thanks for the support!
Nice catch 😊
плавуча фортеця😂
“Thank you!” 😂
You are welcome! 😅
@@hunterdaenzerno you can hear someone say it 😂 (but yeah, thx for the vid too you rock)
Oh yea, That its little Mason! He is normally around in the soo!
she's sitting pretty high in the water, dought there is much coal in her.
The river depth changes drastically going into the steel plant so fully loaded isn’t an option with the low water levels this year.
Sweet video! I also noticed the Huron is doing the Soo runs, I wonder if companies are starting to look at other fleets other than Rand. Hopefully you can catch a salute from the Atlantic Huron, even more cool if you catch it's stern horn.
Lower lakes towing sold alot their contracts to CSL to get money to fix there boats. I wish the Huron woulda saluted here but unfortunately she didn’t, both horns are cool though!
Whats so bad about us? I take pride in my boat.
Not that it’s a bad ship. People just don’t like what it replaced.
Sounds like James R Barker 😂😂😂
Sweet video! I love this ATB, nice paint scheme and cute names
Thank you! It is a great pair!
And now we can say that the John Leitch is back sailing our Great Lakes 😊
I don’t see anything wrong with the photos. Something different. Another great video.
They are very grainy. My presents of photo editing made them look even worse
@@hunterdaenzer they look fine lol
Stubby!
Cebu bridge
She needs the old wire brush taken over her lol she riding so low that her anchor openings are getting washed out. Still love her though ❤
Unfortunately that rust is more than you think it is. Salt is very corrosive and she carry’s salt 85% of the trips she takes.
@@hunterdaenzer I know I was just kidding lol salt destroys our vehicles too.
Rusty but Randy
Good one! 😂
She’s definitely riding low. Her anchor openings are getting washed out. It’s funny seeing them that low in the water.
They always load that river class low. No idea why…
Very fitting horns for the most powerful laker!
My favorite! I actually happened to catch this ship today in Port Huron just as you uploaded this.
Well that’s ironic considering isn’t it! 😂
Fun fact that second locomotive has no engine and uses electric from the lead engine to power the wheels
Did you see John D Leitch is out of layup?
Yes!
She set off car alarms😂😂😂
A whole different world out there!
Sweet one! It's still weird seeing them in red and cream colors, instead of black and white.
I know. The unloader is still white if you didn't notice. I don't know if i like the black and white or maroon and cream colors better.
@@hunterdaenzer I think the maroon and cream fits better for the fleet, but I always confuse the Clyde with the Joyce now lol.
Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Massive ship
1004 ft long by 105 feet deep!
@@hunterdaenzer wow
Welp, if people were asleep, they aren't now.😂😂😂.
That’s for sure, rainy day so people perhaps could have been napping!
Just a little test, how many ships do you know? They can be scrapped, sunk, and still afloat. So how many do you know?
That’s hard to say. There are many ships that have/are sailing our Great Lakes. Plus the foreign vessels that come to the lakes. I couldn’t even give a rough estimate! There is a lot!
Now that is funny 😂
The Algoma Transports replacement 😢
Sad but money and efficiency comes first
@@hunterdaenzer I know
That after beep is funny 😂
When she was at rotary she messed up and did a 3long 3 short
@@hunterdaenzer oh well better than nothing lol
I want to see her some day
She’s a normal in the soo so if you’re ever there good chance you will see her!
@@hunterdaenzer I don’t know if I’ll get there this year but I’m aiming for there next shipping season. But I might make it to Duluth this fall. Fingers crossed 🤞
Old yet reliable
Very reliable. Very large but can run rivers extremely well
Great video of her. I hope she has many more years on her. They seem to keep her looking good, painted. I love when the captain gave a salute for everyone. 😊
The salutes were the best
@@hunterdaenzer yes they were
im not a big fan of these newer ships but she does look pretty
Algoma Bear is my favorite of the newer ships
The rain made the water look so weird
Large rain drops making large ripples
It's raining by u to
When this was recorded June 29th it was!
Sweet!
Lucky you caught your camera in time! Also I'm pretty sure the guy in the blue hoodie was Super Ships!
That damn near scared the crap out of me when my tripod started to go over. That is super ships, he came with us to the soo!
Good stuff!
Stubby! So proud of that nickname - which is what my granddaughter calls me - all 4ft 11 of me! Hope I get to see her one of these days…..
Fun you share something in common! Cort is definitely something to try to catch!
The other key difference between the Cort and the Barker, is that the horns are independently controlled, which is why the tones arent perfectly in synch, it's timing two separate horn blasts together. It's also the horns themselves, Barker has two Leslie horns, a KT 150/110 and a KT 230/75, Cort also has a KT 230/75 as it's stern horn, but the bow horn is an electric horn of some kind that as of right now I don't know the model, which leads to a slightly different tone
Interesting to know
Kind of sounds like the Barker. ❤
Near identical setup
@@hunterdaenzer I was surprised to hear her.
Wow, cool! I had a feeling it was near Michigan! Thanks buddy🤟
Reminds me of the great freighters going down the Detroit river and crossing lake Saint Clair in Michigan. Beautiful ❤️
This was taken in Sault Ste Marie Michigan at Rotary Island Park.
One of the best horns on the lakes
Definitely is!
