Born this way is still a smahs but I think with the time I didn't enjoy listening to regularly as much as the ones I put above them (and once again I love this song and I replayed it so many times). Just dance (in particular the live versions) is just so good, uplifting my mood every time I listen to it. It's just an amazing debut single! Perfect Illusion will always have a special part in my heart. I was going through the darkest time of my life at the moment of its release, and it's just helped me put out ALL MY RAGE. I love this song! Now I listen to it less because it reminds me that dark time but still love it so much. Applause as you said helped me gaining so much confidence, it's still one of my go-to songs when I feel depressed it's just helped me stand up and fight! And what I felt for Applause, I feel the same under steroid for Disease. Disease for me is like Perfect Illusion rage and Applause push having a baby and this baby is a freaking outstanding song that deserves to be a smash hit and if it's not I don't care I think it's one of her best lead singles ever! It's just so good, so motivating, so strong, I'm still obsessed with it one month after and unlike what you said about it, I think I can't get tired of this song! Same this year I've been through some hardships and ordeals (I would not call them "dark" times this time but more "hard" ones because it was work related but a work that passionates me which is research and people trying to put me down and micromanage me and containing my free spirit to the point that I burned out) and this song arrived when I was starting already feeling better for several weeks already and it just gave me the push I needed to tell myself "CURE YOUR DISEASE and f*ck them f*ck your inner demons telling you to listen to these toxic people, JUST DO YOUR THING AND MAKE IT." Thank you so much Lady Gaga for this strong song that is Disease. And finally Bad Romance. Bad Romance is the song that triggered me the interest to Lady Gaga. I was already loving Paparazzi before it but I was not into Lady Gaga at the time. Then I listened to Bad Romance and though the song was not from the same artist. It sounded so new, weird but so good at the same time. I was surprising myself re-listening to this walk song over and over again and wondering if this Lady Gaga was the same one singing Paparazzi. When I understood that she was the same and only person. My mind just exploded of joy and curiosity. I just wanted to know more about her and here I am supporting her ever since. This song is a SMASH hit.

Perfect Illusion is not just a horrible first single, it's a horrible single overall. The worst song in the album. Lead single should have been Million Reasons (the one true hit of the album). Now the others were all great songs.

i think i fully agree with your list lol, I was very excited for Stupid Love when it came out but it grew old on me very very fast, and as the full record came out I was thinking there were several songs on the album that could've been a better lead single. Specially 'Alice', as the opening track and the one the Chromatica intro transitions to, i think that would've been a very logical and amazing lead single. It also sets the tone of the album thematically very well and it's very clubby.

I would have placed Perfect Illusion at 7th, Stupid Love at 6th and Disease at 5th So much wasted opportunities to be released as singles in Lady Gaga discography: Starstruck, BoysBoysBoys, Monster, Scheisse, Bloody Mary or Hair instead of Marry The Night, Venus with a proper old school Gaga video, Sour Candy with an epic music video with Blackpink... Hmm, maybe in another universe. 😮‍💨
