    Good to see some sincere material on this site. Even not seeing your facial expressions, from your movements and your attitude on that seat, it’s crystal clear to see your true passion and dedication. About that extra 50ft., don’t forget that practice makes it perfect. By time your landings will be smoother and those tight turns would be smooth sways.

    You don't realise how good you have it in the US to have made it all the way to flight instructor and never have had to do an actual soft field landing. Wow.

    I use an Insta360X3 and pair it to an airpod that I stick in my headset. Wireless recording of the audio, and 360 degree videos. Only catch is that it can't do wireless audio and GPS at the same time...for no good reason.. so you need to capture your telemetry either from the avionics (Nearly all Garmin GPS systems will record it for you) or from your EFB moving map. Then, I use FlySto (which is free for now, and an AMAZING training tool) to overlay the instrument telemetry onto the video.

    hey man, I've been interested in recording my own flights. What type of recording equipment do you use?

    • @BlakeWeese
      @BlakeWeese 4 місяці тому

      I use a GoPro 11 Black. I also purchased an audio cord from NFlightTechnology. I have the 10 ft cord so there is some slack in the cord and it’s not pulling on anything. Then I have a portable charger that I plug into it so I don’t have to worry about changing batteries mid flight so I focus on flying. If you have any other questions feel free to reach out!

    No problem here but I suggest that every novice pilot starts on a glider. Not only is it cheaper but you learn landing skills. A go round is not an option.

    • @komrad1983
      @komrad1983 5 місяців тому

      Not really, gliders are different beasts and go around should be taught into head of student pilots as a 50/50. There is nothing to invent for 150 years it is taught the way it is in US more or less.

    The plane you referred to with the push/pull prop configuration is probably a Cessna Skymaster.

    Great job on these night landings... I am working on my commercial license and just did my first night landings in a lllooooooonnnnggg time.... so watching your video was so cool... Crazy how different it is at night vs day... definitely feels like you are lower than you really are..... Keep posting as I learn something in each of your videos... They are a great resource for student pilots and licensed pilots alike... Cheers!

    Nice work!.. I remember these days, for me it was all the way back in 2008, lots of fun! If you haven't gotten in the habit already, remember, at start-up, feet on the brakes, hand on the throttle and close to the mixture, and be ready to brake if need be and or a quick shutdown with the mixture if somethings not right.. I learned very quickly that if I try and hold the aircraft off the ground as long as possible on landing, my landings got a lot better.. Keep it just a few feet off the runway, and try to keep it there and keep pulling the yoke back. Even after touchdown, keep pressure back on the yoke until you begin to slow down. Let it sink deeper into the stall.. Just make sure you're not too high. I've done that before!. It'll just kinda plop down on the ground. That kinda sucks😂 Nice work, though. I'm not trying to be critical or anything, just trying to give some useful tips. I'm sure your instructor has got you covered.🙂
