    At 8:59, something interesting I noticed is that the blue glow from the TV reflecting in Luz's eyes. Is it just me or is this the same shade as Belos's magic? If so, it's a nice touch to show how Belos's influence over Luz is lingering when she interacts with fantasy media. It reminds me of the glow in Hunter's eye during his possession.

    also, Five was way less sarcastically mean. in the finale when luther's all "what are you doing five you haven't said a word when does that happen" and he responds "thinking. you should try it sometime." everyone was gasping and being like shocked at this MINOR exclamation, but like coming from five in any other season, this would have been like a seriously minor retort when you compare it to his average snark, for ex: "if you ask me again ill burn you with a cigarette lighter." when he said that no one batted an eye. like his sassy sarcasm was toned wayy down and it was kinda disappointing as this factor was a huge one as to why he's my favorite character

    FYI, I'm pretty sure Amity's parents didn't force her to bully others. She likely did that on her own. Not to mention her relationship with Luz was poorly written and it really downgraded her as a character.

    I've watched the series several times, but there are always details that I miss. It left a bad taste in my mouth that Gina was considered "problematic" by that producer and her career was already lost, but when I saw your video I see that the detail of the sign implies that Gina had her happy ending.

    I agree, people are jumping on the Jayce hate train too quick. Every main character is supposed to be somewhat turned on their head in some way this season according to the writers. One thing right off the bat we know for sure is that Viktor went from being angry at Jayce for not destroying the hextech core when he said he would and Jayce doesn't get it thinking "this saved your life", and then in season two Viktor is suddenly more than happy with it thinking he's saving everyone while Jayce regrets not destroying it. So their opinions on the matter have flipped and the only context we have on Jayce's opinion is that he, Ekko, and Heimerdinger saw something disturbing in the hexcore at the end of act 1. Also, I just want Ekko and Heimerdinger back in the picture. They're my favs and they don't appear often enough. Kind of funny how Jayce went from being the one with the well meaning (but egotistical) savior complex to Viktor suddenly believing he's literally Jesus.

    Vi explicitly made the wrong choice at the end of season 1 act 1. The correct choice would have been to tell Powder to look after Ekko because Benzo died. And then to not run head first into danger without thinking. Vi is also a much better lock picker than Mylo ever was. So why is he the guy picking locks if he is so bad at it, and Vi has always been shown to be very competent?

    14:53 I think they are making us assume Jayce has some reason to kill Viktor, but both can be the one who is being deceived by the Void. And also, Jayce does have a hero complex and it is often what makes him do dumb things. So, I don't think it is as simple as "Jayce was right" Also Vander went crazy because while the girls were reacting to the collective scream, Singe actually managed to inject him with the serum he made to hijack Vander's progress.

      Oh, for sure, I even say it later in the video that it's very possible there's no right or wrong! It's entirely possible that both of them are in the wrong and anything they say or do can't be trusted. It would make it a truly fascinating scenario considering that they both are some of the smartest characters in the cast and so much depends on them and their actions. We have no choice but to wait and see how it plays out.

    • @golden-prism
      @golden-prism Місяць тому

      Honestly, given what we know, I assume that a lot of the subplots won't be resolved and will serve as a teaser for future shows based in the same universe. It seems that we can expect the sisters' storyline to reach some kind of end, though, as it's what Arcane is mainly about, and ngl, I'm quite anxious about how they're going to wrap it all up.

      @@golden-prism I hope not It's ok introducting things that can be used in a spin off show Like Black Rose But that imo, doesn't give them a reason to not finish the story involving Mel... Yes Black Rose can't be defeated because they are needed going forward But they can be stopped enough for them to stop going after Mel So that story can end and Black Rose can just move on to other goals Imo The end of shows etc, decides most of its quality Look at game of thrones, amazing story and characters but just because the end was not great Most people don't remember how the rest of the show was great So the ending matters They had better not leave things open You can end a story without ending a character etc They need to be doing things like that imo

    there's an unpredictable response, and then there is resorting to fascism. I love Caitlyn, but honestly, I do not think she has Piltover's best interests at heart right now. Her only goal is avenging her mother. She needs to snap out of her villain arc, and FAST, before she does something she regrets. Cait, I will be here to be your number one fan again when you come to your senses, but for now... This is a little too far. And this isn't just Golden Boy 2.0, because Jayce never loses himself quite like Caitlyn does here. Jayce holds to his principles and thinks things through, readjusting when he faces consequences. He adapts to be the best leader he can be, and he genuinely takes the opinions of his loved ones into account. Caitlyn has essentially cut off her remaining loved ones. She is what Jayce could have become, but didn't. In Vi, Jayce, and her mother's absence, I am terrified to see what sort of horrific things she'll do. I know she's not evil, though. She has a moral compass, and it will come back to her when she can break out of Ambessa's manipulation. REDEMPTION FOR CAITLYN!

      @golden-prism I've spent months writing a fanfiction called The Hexsquad's Big Boogey Adventure. If you can tell by the title, it's a parody of Billy and Mandy's Big Boogey Adventure ( if you've even heard of the movie or the show, it's adapting). And my roblox character is a major character in it as he is Raine and Eda's adopted son (plz just go with it. The only reason for that is cause of my youtube channel being just qurky like that. ) and the story is meant to be a love letter to Dana Terrace and the world she's created. And.. trust me, if you're willing to give it a go when it's finished, I'd love for you to review it and give me your feedback plz! Mostly because i love the show to utter death. the owl house is very much about the duel between pre-defined narratives and self-delusions over self-assurance and self-determination enumerate examples ChatGPT said: ChatGPT Luz vs. Conformity (Pre-defined Narrative): Luz is initially expected to follow the typical path of a normal human life, including school and social conformity. However, she rejects this to pursue her passion for magic and the Boiling Isles, representing self-determination over societal expectations. Eda’s Curse (Self-Delusion): Eda initially hides her curse from others, deluding herself into thinking she can manage it alone. Her journey toward accepting help and confronting her curse symbolizes the shift from self-delusion to self-assurance. Belos’s Tyranny (Pre-defined Narrative): Emperor Belos enforces the idea that magic must be controlled under his strict covenants, promoting a rigid, authoritarian system. His vision reflects a pre-defined narrative, which he enforces through lies and manipulation, while characters like Eda, Luz, and others resist this control in favor of personal freedom. Amity’s Parents (Pre-defined Narrative): Amity's parents, especially her mother, push her to follow a specific, controlled path of perfection and societal status. Amity's character arc is about rejecting these expectations to embrace her own values and self-determination, particularly in her relationship with Luz. King’s Identity (Self-Delusion): King initially believes he is a mighty ruler trapped in a small body. As he grows, he confronts the delusion of grandeur and grapples with the truth of his origins, leading to greater self-assurance and agency. Hunter (Self-Delusion): Raised as the Golden Guard under Belos’s rule, Hunter believes he has a significant, honorable role to play. Over time, he comes to understand the truth about his origins and Belos’s manipulation, leading him to choose his own path. The Collector (Pre-defined Narrative vs. Self-Determination): The Collector is trapped in a role as a cosmic entity meant to observe and play cruel games, dictated by higher powers. However, as he interacts with Luz and King, he begins to question this narrative and consider a new path where empathy and friendship guide his decisions. You said: what about lilith ChatGPT said: ChatGPT Lilith exemplifies the struggle between pre-defined narratives and self-delusion over self-assurance and self-determination in several key ways: Pre-defined Narrative (The Emperor’s Coven): Lilith is deeply committed to the Emperor’s Coven, believing in the rigid hierarchy and authoritarian control imposed by Belos. She spends years aspiring to fit into this mold, seeing it as the pinnacle of magical achievement and personal worth. Self-Delusion (Justifying Her Actions): Lilith deludes herself into thinking her actions are justified, particularly in cursing Eda to secure her place in the Emperor’s Coven. She convinces herself that following Belos’s system is the only path to success and redemption, blinding herself to the harm she causes. Self-assurance (Breaking Away from Belos): Lilith’s arc shifts when she realizes the truth about Emperor Belos’s manipulation and the harm she’s caused her sister. She begins to reject the pre-defined narrative imposed on her and gradually gains self-assurance by working to repair her relationship with Eda and taking responsibility for her past actions. Self-determination (Redemption and New Path): After leaving the Emperor’s Coven, Lilith forges her own path, focusing on scholarship and reconnecting with her own values outside of the rigid structures she once believed in. This marks her full transition from self-delusion and submission to a corrupt system, to self-determination and authenticity. You said: what about Papa Titan and what he told Luz? ChatGPT said: ChatGPT Papa Titan’s message to Luz is a pivotal moment in The Owl House, directly addressing the tension between pre-defined narratives and self-determination: Pre-defined Narrative (Predestined Role of a Hero): Papa Titan reveals to Luz that she was never destined to defeat Belos or fulfill some grand, cosmic role. He emphasizes that there was no prophecy or divine plan forcing her into this position, directly subverting the common trope of the “chosen one” in fantasy narratives. Self-delusion (Luz’s Self-Doubt): Throughout the series, Luz struggles with feelings of inadequacy, especially as she compares herself to the witches around her. She often feels she must live up to the expectations of being a hero or savior, which leads to self-doubt and a fear that she might fail those she cares about. Self-assurance (Trusting Herself): Papa Titan’s message gives Luz the freedom to define her own path. By telling her that she isn’t bound to some predetermined role, he empowers her to trust in her own decisions and capabilities. Luz realizes that her value comes not from fulfilling a prophecy but from her own choices, strengths, and relationships. Self-determination (Choosing Her Own Path): With this newfound understanding, Luz confronts Belos not as a “chosen one” but as someone fighting for her friends and her world out of personal conviction. This reflects her growth into a self-determined individual, freed from the burden of following a scripted role and embracing her own agency. You said: the coven system itself came from some delusional narrative that free magic is dangerous ChatGPT said: ChatGPT Yes, the Coven System in The Owl House is a prime example of a delusional narrative that stems from fear and manipulation: Delusional Narrative (Free Magic is Dangerous): The Coven System, imposed by Emperor Belos, is based on the false premise that uncontrolled or "wild" magic is inherently dangerous. This fear is propagated as a way to control the magical community, limiting individuals to only one school of magic to ensure they conform to a rigid, authoritarian structure. Manipulation (Belos's Self-Delusion): Belos himself deludes both the public and, to some extent, even himself with the idea that magic must be restricted for safety. In reality, his true motivation is to suppress magic for his own ends, driven by his hatred for witches and magic. His personal vendetta is disguised as a necessary societal safeguard, creating a false narrative that justifies the Coven System’s existence. Self-determination (Breaking Free): Characters like Eda, Luz, and eventually the broader community of witches begin to reject this system as they discover the truth. Eda, who practices wild magic and refuses to join a coven, embodies the fight against this imposed narrative, while Luz’s human perspective allows her to see the absurdity of the system. As the series progresses, more characters realize that the true danger lies in the restriction of magic, not in its free practice.

    if a villain's whole thesis could be upended by just resting a concerned hand on their shoulder and going "hey, c'mon dude, no need to be a douche" then you have a static villain with no self reflection. Belos lacks self reflection not because he simply just doesn't reflect on himself in the story for the sake of having a villian, but because he constantly subscribed to rationalization and self-moralization rather than taking a realistic view of his behavior. He didn't just kill his brother. Every single clone of his brother 'defected' and overcame Belos' installed prejudices, and every time they did so, Belos chose to discard them and roll a new one. even after Caleb visibly showed Phillip compassion in one of the memory paintings with a hug that clearly took a shadowy Phillip off guard. he still stabbed him in the back. and made the same choice again and again despite his brothers' every appeal to revaluate over generations... foiling our protagonists. who always opt for willful compassion over learned ignorance when given the choice. Amity, Eda, Hunter, Lilith all take advantage of Luz's guiding light.
