Ahh, thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! ☺️
Can you please share the month you were there and whether it was the first half or second half of that month?
Hey! We were there at the beginning of January.
What do you think? Was this free walking tour of Hanoi's Old Quarter worth doing? Let us know your thoughts.
to cross the street, just walk straight, dont suddenly stop, they are moving slow so people will dodge u, but if u suddenly stop, they cant dodge u and u might get hit
I am going to attempt to do this next week. Are there many travel agencies offering Nong Khiaw to Muang Khua and are they reasonably priced? When you get to Muang Ngoi are there people offering boats to Muang Khua which are reasonably priced? Thanks !
Hey! Thanks for your comment. Generally speaking, if you start having conversations about your travel plans in Laos, someone will be able to suggest where to go to book/enquire. That's certainly what we found anyway. In all three villages, you'll see businesses advertising the services they're able to arrange for you on signs outside and prices are generally the same wherever you book. We would say that prices were always very reasonable. Accommodation providers in particular love an upsell, so we arranged a vast majority of our onward travel through our accommodation hosts because it was just easier that way. You tell them where you want to go and they sort everything out for you. This works even if you're travelling on a tight budget. I guess ultimately, our advice would be to not worry. The whole process was pretty straightforward and didn't require too much effort to sort out. Just be willing to ask people for help.
@ thaaaaaanks!
Great fun. You steer it by tilting the front and there is a bit of an art to it. Then you go directly into the tram and it takes you right back up the hill.
Thanks for this video. It helps us to plan our activities in Oslo in January 2025.
You’re very welcome. Have a great time in Oslo!
Hello, which Minibus Company can you recommend to go from Luang Prabang to Nong Khiaw?
While is Laos, we booked most of our transfers via our accommodation, so we can’t recommend a specific company. I’d recommend doing it this way as you’ll get the best price and it’s just easier. Failing that, we recommend booking through 12Go and/or Baolau as both offer photos and reviews of the transport options.
Since 1998, I was among the first ones to travel from Saigon to Hanoi and what I need to concur is that Ha-long Bay as well as other panoramic landscapes in Vietnam is unquestionably charming and attractive; but under the rule of Communism, everything is a trap, not only tourism!
Sometimes, you just need to walk for miles to get treats, right?! Have you ever made a special trip to get something tasty/sweet?
Lucky you are In Himachal State
We had such a good time. A wonderful part of the world.
In which month were you there please?
We were here in February.
Great video. Very informative. Would just like to ask if you think the sanctuary would be manageable for a 72 yo who uses a cane? Is there only 1 way to the area (crossing the small wooden bridge over a stream)? Thanks!
Hello. Thanks for watching and for your comments. Visitors are required to walk a lot during their visits. This includes across narrow wooden bridges, along narrow paddy field paths and up a steep hill. Unfortunately, I’d say it was unsuitable for the person you described. There are other ethical elephant sanctuaries in Thailand worth considering, including Elephant Nature Park which is fairly nearby. The parks listed at www.worldanimalprotection.org/latest/blogs/thailand-elephants/ are wildly considered to be the most ethical in Thailand.
@heretotravel Thanks. Will check out the link you gave.
I'm glad I see your video I'm from luangprabang Laos 🇱🇦
We're so glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching!
ôi nó đẹp quá
Chúng tôi đã có rất nhiều niềm vui. Chúng tôi thực sự khuyên bạn nên thử. (We had so much fun. We really recommend it.)
VERY NICE 👌👍
Thank you! 🙏
🤩👌
How fun is this?! Would you have paid a little bit extra to travel on one of these buses?
You guys are from England?
We are, though we now live in Scotland.
Have you visited Sapa? What was your experience like?
Education time! 1: Norwegians trust meterologists and statisticians even less than British people do. -30 is cold in the south, but I've definitely seen -35, whatever they try to tell you. General rule for minimum temps, barring rare exceptions, is -25 in the east if you're near the coast, -30 to -35 if the fjords freeze over, -5 on the west coast, -10 if you're on the coast in the north, -35 inland in the south, -40 to -50 inland in the north. And despite this situation, being on the coast always feels a lot colder for some reason. 2: If there are still trees you're not in the mountains, although the tree line moves down the further north you go. In the south we call the mountains with trees on them 'hills'. The place you went to is usually just called 'skauen', meaning 'the woods'. Norwegians are prosaic by nature.
Hahah! Thanks for sharing. 😊
Not everything made it into this video. Follow us on Instagram (instagram.com/giveback.guide) to see all the extra bits.
Can't wait to see where you've been next ❤ keep the great work ❤
Next video will be from Vietnam. 🇻🇳
Great recommendations on places to see and where to eat vegan ❤ I really appreciate seeing someone finally showing them, so hard to find videos from vegan travellers ❤❤
You’re very welcome. There’s also a vegan hotel in Pitlochry with an accompanying restaurant that’s open to non-guests. There are a few places where we ate that didn’t make it into the video - they’ll be in our stories on Instagram (instagram.com/giveback.guide).
@@heretotravel ❤️ great tips 😊 I didn't realise you have Instagram, I have followed you right away ❤️
Another great video ❤
Thank you! So pleased you enjoyed it! 😊
How to reach white temple from downtown chiang rai hotel, how much it cost
Hey! Perhaps you missed this in the video as your questions are answered in the opening 80 seconds. You just need to walk to the bus terminal and hop on the public bus. It was 25 baht each when we were there. If you’re too far from the bus terminal to walk, you can get a Grab, which shouldn’t cost too much.
Glasgow’s underground is the third oldest in the world ( not just Europe ) after London and Budapest.
Hiiii, I'm going to do the journey to the tay trang border as well next month, your video makes me look forward to it! As UK citizens we are visa free into Vietnam, did you still require a vietnam visa to get through the tay trang border or when they see British passport do we get straight through because we are on the visa free list? Thanks!
Hey! You’re the sort of person we had in mind when we shot our videos (someone who’s about to replicate our trip), so it’s lovely to know you found our vid useful. So, it does seem that visa rules have changed since our visit and UK citizens can just rock up to the border and be stamped in for 45 days. We had to apply for an e-visa. Obviously, do keep a close eye on any potential changes right up to the day of your transit as visa rules can change without notice and often, for no good reason. Have a fab trip!!! We’d better get on with publishing our Vietnam series. 😊
So nice seeing my countries capital from the eyes of a tourist :)
-30 Degrees in Oslo is dammm cold but sounds like Fun even the sledding on the snow slope
Yeah, it was pretty chilly, but we were wrapped up so it didn’t really affect our sightseeing.
Really looking forward to watching the Vietnam series and reminiscing. I fell totally in love with the country and the people. We did the Ha Giang loop with an easy rider over 6 days I and I can honestly say it was by far the best thing about our trip in SEA. The scenery was truly spectacular. That’s something for you to try next time ❤🇻🇳
Considering the pace at which you upload your videos it will take a decade to complete your 6 months series across Asia on UA-cam.
Hahah! Very true. 🤣
Are you looking forward to our Vietnam vids? Have you been before and you're keen to reminisce or are you planning to visit for the first time? Let us know!
Foreigners say very funny name Si'gulda' but it is Sigulda no accent on first 2 letters. ❤
Aha! Fair enough. Thanks for letting us know.
Hello, you made it out very good as this is my town, still many things to look around ❤ By the way Sigulda is chosen city as God revealed it to me in 2016!
We loved Sigulda. You're very lucky to call it home.
Wow what a route! Can’t wait to watch them all ❤
😊 Thank you. Our Vietnam series will be starting soon (Hopefully!)
Hey one of your videos popped up for me this morning and I loved it. Just watched four back to back and subscribed. You have such a lovely manner in them and they are so easy to watch. I was in Laos with my husband in January for an unplanned detour on our 4 month backpacking trip and it’s great to see places we didn’t get to. Can’t wait watch more……
Hey! 👋 Thanks for your lovely comments. It’s really appreciated. So pleased you’re enjoying our vids. 😊
im latvian you should go to valmiera
Hey! Thanks for your suggestion. We did think about going, but we didn't have time on this occasion. Maybe next time though!
@@heretotravel I am from Valmiera I'll be waiting for ya come here someday :) Coming here by the train is the most comfy way btw cuz bus is not that spaceous and takes longer also is more expensive than train!
Latvia has one of most quality food also food quality in restaurands and cafes are supreme iven pizza iz better some places than in Italy
WERY NICE calm easygoing editing for videos
Thank you! 🙏
Hello Im considering taking this bus next december but im not sure bucause i always have car sick in turning roads...😢
It’s only the initial hour or so travelling down the mountain, and it’s not too bad. The bus travels pretty slowly. We sometimes get a bit travel sick too, but we managed without any issues. It’s a good service and worth paying a little bit extra for.
The bumper boats are much joy at "Tarzāns", give them a try when you visit :) and one would usually of course allocate a whole day for the adrenaline-inducing activities. There are combo tickets as well. So you can not only conquer the tree top trails but also ride the toboggan a bunch of times for cheapo.
Absolutely no reason why things are expensive in Laos! Even the resort your at now is pricey!
It was already quite pricey. I guess inflation is a global issue.
Another cool video guys Laos looks really authentic and clean x
Ahh, thank you. 🙏 Yeah, Laos is awesome! Highly, highly recommend it!
Hello, i want to know what time the last boat from nong khiaw to muang ngoy departure? Do u know that?
No, I’m afraid not. You’ll need to check when you’re there. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was only one departure in the morning (I’m fairly certain that’s the case). You might be able to arrange your own private boat at any time, but this will obviously be considerably more expensive.
I guided myself to these places & more in 1.5 days - including two evening performances at the national opera @ ballet. I’m able to do this because I stayed in the old town next to the dome cathedral 😊. I shall be checking museums tomorrow as forecast raining. I guess each for what they like I won’t be to the market for example.
Hope you had a lovely time.
Nice video!
Thanks! Appreciate it!
it is amazing to watch, my " route' up&down the hill when it was all just beautiful hills and we had no idea it is special... Sigulda is magical place to to be, I hope to return soon!
And it is most romantic city I would say in the world. So many love stories you should explore them next time ;)
If climate activists study about Bishnoi community they will be shocked…there was time when king order to cut trees whole Bishnoi village stood in front of tree and sacrificed themselves for a tree..even for some animals also
What month did you visit guys? And do you know if there is an age limit? Would love to take my youngest down with me!
Hiya. We were there in early January. No age limit as far as we can remember. The run isn’t supervised, so you can just hire a kids sledge and take the plunge.
