HANDS-DOWN THE BEST STRAWBERRY DESSERT OF 2024 *You need to try this*
Hi all! I hope you enjoyed this video. Recipe below!
.
.
How to make STRAWBERRY DUMPLINGS:
Ingredients:
21gr fresh yeast (or 7g dry yeast)
300ml milk - lukewarm
1 egg
500gr flour - all purpose
White/raw sugar
Pinch of salt
1kg fresh strawberries
Lite Sour Cream
Yeast:
- In a bowl, add yeast, 1 tablespoon flour, 1 tablespoon sugar, 100ml of lukewarm milk, mix well and set it to one side for 10 minutes.
Dough:
- Place flour in a big bowl, add 1 egg, and pinch of salt.
- Slowly pour milk in while mixing with a spatula.
- Add yeast mix. Use hands now to incorporate all ingredients together. Knead it into a ball. Mixture needs to be firm, but also soft to the touch.
Cover it with cling wrap and place it in a warm room to rise (1 hour, or in a warm oven for 40 minutes).
- Once risen, roll out dough to about .5-1cm high. Cut in squares/triangles.
- Place half a teaspoon of sugar on each piece with a strawberry (size of strawberry depends on size of piece). Wrap the dough around the strawberry, sealing it closed.
- Bring water in a large pot to boiling point.
- Place 5-8 dumplings in the pot (don't overcrowd as they do expand). Leave dumplings in for 6-8 minutes until they have grown in size and look fluffy. As soon as you take them out, prick each dumpling several times and place them onto a paper towel covered tray. Repeat with remaining.
Strawberry Sauce:
- Cut 500g of strawberries into halves or quarters and place them in a blender.
- Blend until you have a course sauce.
- Add 1-2 tablespoon of sugar (or to taste) and mix it into the sauce.
Sweetened Sour Cream:
- Place sour cream in a bowl.
- Add 1 tablespoon of sugar (or to taste) and mix well.
To serve:
- Add 2 warm dumplings into a bowl. (Heat dumplings up by placing them in the microwave for 20-30 seconds).
- Add 2 tablespoon of sweetened sour cream and 1/4 cup (or more! there's no limit) of strawberry sauce
- ENJOY!!

i have never seen a grand piano in a suburban home is this a common thing? its beautiful! it must be so loud in a small house too! what ethnicities do you have please? can i also ask what zodiac sign are you?

I think upright pianos are far more common. It's not too loud, but when it's played, you can hear it all through the house. Both my parents are Slovak. I'm a first generation Australian 🙂 sorry, I have no idea what zodiac sign I am 😀

I enjoyed your video. We are a family of 4 3 adults and one toddler. We spend $275 a week in the southern USA. This includes baby formula. We cook and eat at home every meal except one adult who pays for own meals while at work. We aren't what folks would call frugal shoppers and eat mostly name brand products but no alcohol.

not much is it compared to what you could get for $236 pre covid. what i like is that you didnt buy the no name brands and you showed the ridiculous prices that are being charged because of a brand difference. and many places in australia dont carry no name brands or if you live rural the no names are as much as the branded in the city!

You are doing well 🙂. I budget $300 a week for a family of 5. Pretty much 5 adults. Youngest is 17. Last week I had $89 left over from my budget. The main ALDI food shop today was $180 so will probably be a similar week by the time I do a couple of small top up shops. I’m trying to stick to paying for groceries with cash so I can track how much I have left in my budget easier. I should add the 2 eldest kids work full time and buy some of their own meals and snacks so that obviously helps. Boys eat like locusts 🤣

The reason why they do the coin trolley things is so people actually put them back in the trolley line outside the shop! I had trolleys being slammed on my car before because people are hopeless and don’t want to walk 2 extra minutes! I don’t blame them on that. I come from Italy and that is normality!

Also being from Europe, Aldi is interesting cause the have a lot of products from overseas at a very reasonable price and the wines are pretty good too! Maybe a good motivation if you want to experiment with different food?! 😅 Like certain German biscuits or chocolates sourekraut and so on.. Also cheeses and cured meats sessions usually has more of a “European” selection.. I have found different wurst(type of sausages) that you wouldn’t normally find in Australian supermarkets I have notice that aldi sometimes is not cheaper on certain brands so I guess its worth to check your shopping list and do some price comparison before u head there if you have the time and patience for it! Lol
