I finally tried writing new lyrics to in the morning mostly after your encouragement, didn’t go very well need to pare it down 17 minutes to get through them. I’ll never be a song writer.

Funny but I never thought of coming up with a rewrite to it until now. Probably won’t have time until next week but it definitely needs new lyrics.

I have a childhood friend who’s been trying to get me to use Reaper to mix music and I could probably make it better that way but it turns making music more into work than fun. I definitely could do it better though especially if I could get the volume levels better and could play to get the music down than add vocals separately. One day but life’s too busy and this is just fun and an outlet for me. I listened to a couple of you videos drumming and really like them.

@havingfun1421 Yes,music should always be fun shouldn't it,as your channel name portrays,so go with what works best for you. I use audacity for music,and shotcut for videos. I find audacity works well,the free version,and you can do live recording and looping. Don't know if you've come across audacity. Music is a journey,not a destination,so we keep adding things we need as we progress down the road. Great to see you write your own songs too,looking forward to more 🙂🙏🎸

Almost always just point my iPhone at myself and hit record then just upload, no editing and one take so if I screw up the world sees it. Most songs I don’t rehearse or practice just grab my guitar and what comes out comes out. I did use the computer to get your drums with the guitar but only to play the drums and record with a webcam. If I ever retire maybe I’ll have time to really learn to play and edit things but for now it is what it is. My ex wife hated my playing so gave it up for 15 years, my son doesn’t care for it. Really don’t get much encouragement so your comment means a lot.

Now you got me wondering. Martin's site lists the following guitars with Koa wood: SC-13E, D-12E, 000-12E, and Custom Shop Super D as well as seven Uke's. The ones ending in E have electronics so must be one of those. Bet it's a nice guitar. I've never played or owned a Martin. Hey you never commentted on the one I did using your lead guitar - I took your "A minor 2020 SG MUSE" and used it with my lyrics / vocals over it and added guitar. Never made it public (wanted you're approval first). I haven't checked here in awhile (my son was off school) so maybe you did - I'll double check. I added a comment your video with a link to me singing over it.

I'll buy a 900ce one day. I agree the 80ce I have is the nicest guitar I own. They hardly ever come up on Reverb (the 80 I got locally) that I didn't intend to buy but fell in love with. Need to play it more for sure.

Great now I got that melody you played in my head. I get them stuck there and spend forever hunting it down. That one is going to be hard. If I can find it I’ll let you know. Let me go back and see if anyone commented, if not I mull it around and see if I can figure it out. Did you ever figure it out?

@@havingfun1421 if you're asking me, the answer is, there's very little I've figured out. but aside from a few chords I was taught by a friend (who shall go name less, as I wouldn't want him to carry that burden if I DO record myself), I am self taught. and as the musical comic Lonesome George Gobel used to say, "I'm self taught, but I'm a bad teacher."

I'd love to hear it! Yeah I almost grabbed a Yamaha - an acoustic I picked up but I knew this one was in tune. The classical has wider spacing and can be tricky. I'm just using an Iphone to record an upload - so let's hear it. I struggle with slide - haven't tried different tunings but anytime I try to do slide it sounds awful to me.

@@havingfun1421if you tune to an E, (in other words, if you hit the strings only w/ your right hand, and you get the sound of someone playing an E chord in standard tuning, you'll start to sound good w/ a slide).you don't need 2 guitars, you can go to Google "tuning guitar.'' Im a little bit bashful. and I've yet to broadcast over YT. but I tune the ancient YAMAHA to an E chord . a couple Winters ago, I started practicing that way. if you can play what you just played, you can learn slide, also. I have to use the E chord method, tho, to make any musical sense. some people can sound great, sliding in standard tuning.

@@tonym994 life gets so crazy busy for sure. Pretty much any time I play I record and upload it. Often go back to old things that I’ve forgotten or just listen to see what I could do better. Surprised I have any subscribed to me or that even listens but mostly just do it for myself and as an outlet. If you ever upload anything I’d definitely listen. I’ll have to try that tuning to see if it helps. The few times I’ve tried slide it just sounds awful - so much so that I think that’s about the only thing I haven’t uploaded (if I did an forgot I probably should take it down). Anyway, I’d love to hear you play.

I have a really old VHS tape where I play the chords to 'Key to the highway' on a cheap electric Les Paul copy. then, I shot video of myself playing the leads, standing next to the TV. I'm surprised nobody does that now . I wasn't too bad. I followed the basic pattern from 'Derek & the Dominos',one of my favorite recordings since the phonograph was invented, wishing I was half as good as either one of them. Eric & Duane. there are some outtakes from those sessions, on YT.

when I hear something I recorded years ago, I often say to myself, "self? you were better than you gave yourself credit for". I think recording yourself is a lot of fun.

Good to know, seems my order showed two 900CEs but when they didn't ship in a month and I started bugging them like you it showed the cheaper guitar. I love the one I bought used though but most I've spent on a guitar and it was much less buying a used 80CE model than buying the new 900CE - glad I cancelled if I was going to get the cheaper guitar. I'll have to hunt to see if there was fine print I missed.

My first girlfriend’s sister stole Bass pint glasses from a pub in Wales in the 1980s or 90s. I ended up with them until about two years ago when the last one broke. I’ll have to make it over there but would need someone with a large purse to help me procure a new set 😁cheers

Honestly no body when it comes to music. Just an Ovation I picked up from Facebook marketplace and putting new strings on it got me going I guess (did that song and three originals last night). Be forewarned I’m not the greatest singer and two of the songs it was my first and only time playing them so not sure if they’re any good.

Love your guy’s Piano playing! My son’s first Clarinet in his high school band and really needs a better Clarinet, other then Internet research I really don’t know anything about them. Thinking of either the Buffet R13 or the Yamaha YCL-650ii but really don’t know what I’m looking at. Hopefully can get him to try them both. Do you know anything or know anyone that knows anything about Clarinets? Hopefully can get him one that’ll last him for as long as he plays.

It’s a little easier to tune though not as tasty depending on who’s playing it. Silly but want to do the chords on ukulele into the looper then maybe add bass. Ukulele is east, I was playing with bass and can get the progression easy enough but ended up with something just all wrong (like a boss nova bass or something). Might do it anyway just for fun- before I forget the lead).

Always found soloing hard. Plus hear the melody they sing in my head (not the lead). Tried again tonight after listening to the lead like five times. It’s hard.

How long did it take? The chords are easy as would be singing it but always have trouble with lead. I have a looper so if I ever get it next hurdle is using it in the song. Have you been able to play it (to a loop or with someone playing rhythm?). It’s hard for sure.
