I did in this one. Not the best route honestly. You’re better off tapping into the low level inputs that go into the Bose amplifier. Definitely a newbie mistake on my part!

They can work but I advise sticking with sealed when running the select series. If you're wanting good subs for ported applications from ds18 then stick with the high excursion gen-x for budget friendly. If you are willing to spend more then the zxi, exl-x, and high excursion exl are all awesome choices.

Absolutely, I am not getting the full 1000w RMS due to impedance rise factors. Last time I was clamp running this exact amp, subs, and box I was getting closer to 700w rms with a resting load of 1 ohm. the 700w rms value is due to the fact that I was rising closer to 2 ohms when playing my peak frequency. This is why its a good idea to get amps rated for more power than the subs are rated for to account for this in a lot of cases.

The amp is discontinued now. As for a similar package ds18 offers the 4 ohm svc subs with a prefab box that has ds18 embroidered on top paired with the new generation of select series amps.

You will have to do series parallel to get a 4 ohm final load since the s1500.1 isn't 1 ohm stable.

I have them wired parallel to a 1 ohm load. If you're using a 1 ohm stable amp then odds are its either turned up too much or you're experiencing a voltage drop.

No upgrades, that is using an 80 amp alternator with a 4 cylinder 2.3l Honda engine. I wasn't even getting a true 1000w rms with that setup which is insane!

That's crazy man I have a 2005 Chevy Equinox I want to hook up a 2000 watt monoblock amp and maybe 4 tens eventually but for now I have two of them they are 1000 RMS each I believe 2000 Max a piece and I'm wondering if you think in your opinion I would need to upgrade my alternator for this currently I'm running to 12 inch JL Audio w3v3 with a HD 1000 amp and I got her role in Full Throttle and my voltmeter doesn't seem to drop and less I kick the AC on when it's hot as shit and every now and then I'll slip up and hit my light bar on while I'm pumping down the road but I'll see the voltmeter start beeping and I'll shut one of them down usually it's the light bar and the amp got to leave that air on LOL but what is your professional opinion you think I need a bigger alternator to run a 2000 watt amp? Or just do the big three I'm just getting back into car audio from 20 years or so ago so this is all new to me again and the technology out today is freaking crazy the power of these little amps are throwing out I remember back in the day to get 2000 Watts or even a thousand watt you had to have a 3 foot long amp LOL and you are paying about a dollar a watt for a good amp anyway let me know your opinion and if so what brand do you recommend to run anywhere from 2,000 to maybe 4,000 later on if I do upgrade I might as well go all out and how many amps you think I need and a good company besides Mechman I can't find one of them for my truck I'm trying to do all the research I can sorry about the long message but it's hard because it's so much to learn again thank you for your time and your quick response sir love that system that shit was crazy pound in and flexing

@@MrJoeygregory if you plan on running 2000+ rms then I definitely recommend doing the big 3. With your alternator make sure you can get one that will provide a minimum of 300 amps In order to run a 2000w rms system while still having enough left to run your vehicle and other accessories. If you're willing to spend the money also get a lithium ion battery since they have a nice charge capacity while being able to discharge and recharge quickly. As for the wiring 1/0 gauge wire will be able to handle around 2000w rms but you will need thicker wire for higher power. Make sure it is OFC wire too! If you get cca not only will the wire corrode faster but you will experience voltage drops at the amp.

@@MrJoeygregory as far as amps are concerned just make sure it's a brand that meets modern standards. Crossfire, digital design, Memphis, etc... I've definitely been like amps ds18 has been releasing for example the exl series, pro series, or if you're really wanting that much power there is a the gen-x6000.1d which can provide more than 2000w rms and is only around $300
