No, DONT cross the dam. I first thought you had to, thats why I went, but if you play the video at the 2:37 mark you’ll hear me mentioning that once you arrive to that dam area you turn to the RIGHT and go over the hill and that’ll lead you to the correct way.

@ Definitely need good sturdy shoes, water shoes are very helpful. Wouldnt recommend sandals to actually get to the location because of the very inclined road you need to walk down and up to

If I was only in Lima for an afternoon it would be to try some of the amazing food. If you like steak order Lomo Saltado at Tanta Miraflores (world renowned chef Gaston Acurio). Great value and quality, if you prefer fish try Ceviche (national dish) at Punto Azul. If you like desserts try San Antonio restaurant a few minutes walk from Tanta. For drinks Chicha Morada (purple corn) or Maracuya (passion fruit). After eating go for a lovely walk along the Malecon. There is another Tanta restaurant in the Larcomar outdoor shopping centre so you could combine the two experiences and look out over the ocean! To be honest you can go wrong with the food anywhere really, but these are my tips based on being married to a Peruana. Enjoy your trip to Peru ❤

@@timlucas5985 Thats a great plan. Fully agree! We opted for some delicious Chaufa in Chinatown on our day there. There’s so many good choices of food there.

Aww nooo! Yeah, unfortunately during or after rainy days , the rivers in PR can be quite dangerous. Sorry you didn't get the full experience. Hopefully you get to try again one day.

I didn't see any or have seen any other sources indicating of caimans in these waters, but then again you never know.

@@inCHAVOSiTrust Oh I know there's many around the area, that's why I say you never know, but specifically here in this spot I'm not aware if any have ever been spotted or not, that would suck if they were, but I think since people are now here they probably want to stay in more secluded spots.

Sorry for the late reply. It's deep enough where you CAN'T touch the bottom, so if you're not a great swimmer I would suggest being cautious. I think a life jacket would definitely help if you're not a good swimmer.

To fly from Lima to Cusco they had us wear a mandatory mask or else we could not be on the plane so, had to comply with their rules. But you’ll love it. Peru is amazing.
