There's no such thing as crap tequila. That's because it's origins are primitive so the more crap it is, the more authentic and beautiful it is.

I tasted the Fosforo Tobala yesterday for the first time...WOW! An almost gumball-sweetness in the beginning, then it makes a beautiful landing with notes of pepper and ripe fruit. The smokiness is gentle, but there. Beautifully unique.

I appreciate Aged Agave trying to broaden the palate and letting people know about new and different things within the Agave World. However...coming outta THAT distillery...seems like a hard PASS. Ill stick with either whisky or just buy a XA tequila.

I don’t know what would happen but I’m interested in this process but sending it to Scotland for a 12,15,18 year aging in ex bourbon.

Just got mine from old town for $220 (Black Friday). Thinking of cracking it open to open up before Christmas. What do you think? Brother coming into town and he is a scotch guy

Great job Lou! I agree 100% on the Montagave and Don Vicente. I own a bottle of each, they’re great sippers. Lou, I had a chance to try the Cazcahuin Brix 11, WOW!!! In your opinion, what’s the closest match out now? Cazcahuin Tahona, siembre valles tahona? Other? Trying to get a bottle now that Brix is hard to find.

I truly hope younger crowds find your videos and wisdom. I found your site about 7-8 years ago and though been drinking tequila for about 10 years prior, I wasn't really drinking tequila until I found your site. And, along with Grover (taste tequila) and (later) Doug Price, this is the trifecta of knowledge. There's a few others, but the newb's should be required to review the trifecta before ever purchasing anything. Then, they can drink what they want, but they need to know what they are drinking. Thanks for the time you put into this love of agave.

Thanks Lou for the review. These Yeyo expressions are without a doubt unique. Personally I have a preference towards the “Sol”, the apple & spice is delicious, can nose the glass all day long. I have already been through at least 4 or 5 bottles, can’t get enough of this one !!

Sip has them, grabbed mine about two weeks ago and very nice, lots of fun. The Sol really hits you with that apple cider as soon as you open it but the apple is quite subtle on your palate. Again, very good and lots of fun.

Tequila for cocktails from a traditional, craftsman producer. Why not indeed. Homerun. There are plenty of great sippers ... we need more quality juice for cocktails. You lose all the nuances flavors from quality sippers when you add the citrus and sugar for cocktails. Thanks Vivanco for giving me a quality tequila backbone to mix with.
