Jim Croce, Time in a bottle, 1973
If I could save time in a bottle
The first thing that I'd like to do
Is to save every day
'Til eternity passes away
Just to spend them with you
If I could make days last forever
If words could make wishes come true
I'd save every day like a treasure and then
Again, I would spend them with you
But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do
Once you find them
I've looked around enough to know
That you're the one I want to go
Through time with
If I had a box just for wishes
And dreams that had never come true
The box would be empty
Except for the memory
Of how they were answered by you
But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do
Once you find them
I've looked around enough to know
That you're the one I want to go
Through time with
The first thing that I'd like to do
Is to save every day
'Til eternity passes away
Just to spend them with you
If I could make days last forever
If words could make wishes come true

I like to much Trevor Pinnock for his interpretation ....
what did the see in the sky ?
dark sky and clouds announcing an upcoming danger - surely death eaters
why are you uploading a song that''s already on youtube so many times over?
Lovely march to the end of time and timelessness. Simply full of wonder and mystery.

MerlePsyA, this is a poem written by Ibn Ezra himself. There are many biblical quotes in the poem I will try to find an English translation; I'm sure it exists; though not sure it is on the internet thank you for your comment m.
After all these years, I saw your response. Thank you so so much! I will look for the English translation now. Perhaps it may be available now.
Such a warm voice. I don't understand Hebrew. Is there an English translation? Is this a song about Ibn Ezra, or a setting of something Ibn Ezra wrote? Evokes for me the English language poem by Robert Browning, "Rabbi Ben Ezra": "Grow old along with me, the best is yet to be, the last of time for which the first was made." It is intriguing to hear such a rich-sounding song, so sweetly sung, with words I do not understand. I will read more about Ibn Ezra, though.
There should be a decent English translation; I have not seen a good one, though. In addition to being a [very interesting] biblical commentator, he was a poet, too!
It's a poem by Ibn Ezra, titled "Tzamah Nafshi", which means "My Soul Has Thirst" (for God, for a living God, my heart and flesh shall call to a living God...).
@@BlainEnoch Thank you! You answered a question I asked years ago, and I am grateful for your answer. I will look for the text of the complete poem in English. What you shared is deeply beautiful....
