I upload cool stuff here
Mike Tyson in 2:00.00 (World Record)
I managed to beat my last record of 2:00.61 by 8 frames! For more info on this fight, read below:
The Mike Tyson fight involves an incredible amount of luck and execution. I hit all 21 frame perfect punches (1/60th of a second), and got luck that has roughly a 1/6,000 chance of occurring.
The fight is broken up into "phases", with Tyson's knockdowns marking the end of each phase. I played very well during phases 1 and 2, losing only 4 frames across all 16 dodges/ducks (although I messed up the first duck to lose another frame), while hitting all 14 frame perfect punches. Tyson also gave me a perfect pattern with no delays, which is a 1/1600 pattern. I then played perfectly during phase 3, hitting all 7 frame perfect punches, while Tyson gave me a fairly fast but far from perfect pattern. This is the most likely spot to improve over this record - getting a faster phase 3 pattern from Tyson, which has about a 19% chance of happening.
The game only tells you the whole second of the Tyson fight, but by framecounting using a tool developed by Omnigamer, you can figure out your decimal and exact frame. It turns out that this fight was a 2:00.00, occurring on the 3rd frame of the .00 increment.
In other words - this fight was only 3 frames away from being a 1:59. A sub 2 Tyson fight would be the most legendary achievement in Punch-Out history by far. You'd need to match this execution while getting roughly ~1/12,000 luck. I don't know if I'll ever get it, but I'm going to try.
Also, in case you want some more data... since taking the record under 2:01 in July 2020, I estimate I've done more than 40,000 Tyson attempts. Only 9 of those attempts ended at 2:00, and this was the fastest one by far. Here's a breakdown of the decimals I got:
2:00.99 - 4
2:00.97 - 2
2:00.82 - 1
2:00.61 - 1
2:00.48 - 0
2:00.25 - 0
2:00.00 - 1 (this record)
That's a pretty big jump from all the rest. Even though I'm only 3 frames away from 1:59, it could be many years before that time is a reality.

Meme category WR! This game is normally timed with the in-game timer, but using a stopwatch from start to finish is an alternate meme category. It's a terrible way to speedrun the game, but here's a new WR.

The decimal on the Tyson fight normally isn't given to you, but by frame-counting afterwards, it's possible to determine what it is. The world record was 2:00.97 for over 3 years, despite many thousands of attempts to lower it. In that time, I had 3 additional 2:00s, one of which was another .97 and two of which were .99s. After I finished this fight, I wasn't getting my hopes up because I coul...
Mr. Sandman in 2:16.48 (World Record, matches TAS)

After a relentless grind, I ended up going straight from 2:16.82 to 2:16.48 to match the TAS, skipping straight over 2:16.61. This is one of the craziest things I've ever done in this game. To match the TAS of 2:16.48, you have to get odds of roughly ~1/76, then arrive at 1:30 on the perfect frame (essentially a crapshoot), then land 2 more difficult frame perfect punches under pressure to clos...

Have you ever gone for the KO on Tyson? Like how fast can you put Tyson down for the 10 count?
I missed the Jake Paul Vs Mike Tyson fight. Im glad someone captured the Netflix stream
At least it didnt take 26 minutes for the same results
its like watching a zombie speedrunning, congrats.
Summoning Salt had many some early mistakes, a longer Don 2 accompanied with small missteps up to Mister Sandman put his time 7 seconds up form the world record, but just as the run seemed lost, his fight with Macho Man went flawless, putting him at only a second and a half behind the world record, he still needed to fight Mike Tyson, at this point of the run he needed Mike to not give him the 8 second delay and on top of that he needed to hit all those perfect frame punches to gain enough time for a new world record. And then... he did this.
🤠
Gotta love how this is getting recommended after his last fight lol
Name a better duo than "I'm not really feeling it today" and getting world record
Summoning salt cheated
Anyone here after Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul?
1:14:47 “and I remember being” [THAT song kicks in]
31:31 is actually bonechilling. So fucking good
Good times going behind the scenes a little. You talk about building drama...I think one thing that makes your videos so great is that you build drama for both exceptional wins and devastating missed opportunities. As the viewer we never know which one it's going to be. Thanks for your work.
The History of MKWii Shortcuts was my favorite

2:10:34 “Mario Kart Wii has a strange problem. This problem doesn’t have anything to do with the gameplay, the graphics, the music, or anything like that. No, the problem is with the game’s mechanics.”
Listening to this for work, cleaning, and even just detoxing after a long day :)
I am so used to him talking like he does in his actual videos its kinda interesting hearing him talk outside of them
Hearing Summoning Salt cussing is like hearing a school teacher cussing. It feels wrong. Oh yeah, you're also insane. Congratulations.
How is Arcus speed running a burrito not your best work?

Damn only 11k views, deapite that this race is a banger.
That's nuts dude! I want to ask you on how the speedrunners practicing this game. Are you guys using savestates by having a training mod or are you guys just playing the original game?
We use Powerpaks and Everdrives for savestates on console, but it's possible to learn the game without savestates too.
It's their platform. I'd suggest bitting the bullet and censor yourself. AVGN is also trash but brings in too much money to censor. I doubt it goes to the kid app.
The abney317 video was how I found your channel, and oh my god it's a banger
It'd be really cool if you did updates to some of the older record videos to see where they are at now.
“For the first time in a year, somebody new had entered the top 3. And all of a sudden in one fell swoop, he passed Sinister1 AND Ouijiawii, only trailing behind Zallard’s world record. This runner… was me.” 1:50:06
congrats on the 2:01 tyson at the end!
Watching this 4 months later is hilarious. I've done a fair amount of music/art and it's the little things that nobody else notices that pisses you off as a creator (percussion too tinny/why did I paint aqua in that spot of the canvas/what the hell are those words/at the 2:30 mark, why didn't I clean up that missed kick drum/was I drunk when I recorded that 2nd guitar track). But, hold on, THERE IT IS. All that simultaneous insecurity/overconfidence and hyper self criticism disappears in an instant when the perfect moment slaps your existence. And you realize: YOU MADE THIS AND NO ONE ELSE DID. Then, the cycle begins again...

Alternate title, “Salt bullies his younger self for 20 minutes”
Most of them are great, thanks for the upload! However, is there a reason for having stopped using Wavetable from P. Taxxon? This one was great and added such a dramatic effect... :(
Oh wow i didn't even realize there is a 2024 updated playlist, thank you Salt!
He did pick a great musical element, 12-tet sounds like a cacophony though, tempered notes do not sound good together because they are not attempting to.... music theory has had less effort put into it than a mediocre speedrunners masterbation regimine I'm sorry. I defy you to name anything in the entire world thats taken less seriously than music theory.
1:50:06 let me remind you that this was the song used when summoning salt was revealed in the punch out video as a wr contender
Matt Turk sent me here 🙏🏼
My favorite so far was the Mega Man 2 world record, I'm glad it got into S-tier.
We need a new Super Metroid Episode
The chill 80s badass vibes, after a long night of fighting crime. 49:34
Why does the clock stop when Super Macho Man throws his super punch’s? That is how you made up all that time. It was during that fight and due to the clock stopping during his 2 Seperste super punches
The game stops the clock so Macho can't just tank a bunch of the round timer by doing a long invincible attack
It’s so odd to hear him swear idk why 💀💀💀💀
Who else came from Bismuth?
Personal Top 5 Summoning Salt video moments: 5. abney317 reacting to the new Royal Raceway shortcut strat (The Quest to Beat abney317) 4. "Eyes. Wide. Open. EYES! WIDE! What about Matt turk fakeout
I could have sworn you've used Resonance too.
I've never seen Soda beat that fast!
Salt man you’re exactly like me lol, I’ll listen to or read something I made in the past and think “yeah man this is so ass how did I even let myself make this” but someone else will tell me it’s perfectly good.
