San Francisco Kung Fu Day 2023
As a little boy in the late 1960's, my dad would put me on his shoulder so I could watch the Gung Fu performers during the Chinese New Year in San Francisco's Chinatown.
I've always found the beat of the lion dance drumming rhythm to be soothing and meditative, and the movement of the Gung Fu practitioners to be beautiful and artistic.
Like any art form, it takes years of dedication and practice to perfect your craft. Great seeing tradition being passed from masters to students keeping their respective arts alive.
Thank you to all the performers for sharing your Gung Fu styles.

Professor William K.S. Chow performing at Ralph Castro's California Karate Championships. This was in the 1980's when Professor Chow visited and stayed with the Castro family. The other demonstration are Kuk Sool Won Masters. I believe this was shot on Super 8. There was no sound, and it's unknown who shot the film.

Professor Wally Jay - The Grandmaster of Small Circle Jujitsu, by Ogi Productions.
I lost a lot of respect for Jay when he hooked up with Dillman.
To be fair, these guys knew each other for a long time. Plus, I hate to say this.....but teaching martial arts does not pay the bills. There are a number of reasons Wally joined with Dillman. It does not mean that he was teaching B's.
A master legend ❤🎉
Great Job!!!
Really awesome video Great lineage and innovation People born with Aloha
B4 the mma craze Hawaiian jujitsu was king now it still tier 1 choice... mma is overrated
To compare mixed martial arts to the hardcore, bare knuckle practices of Hawaiian blended arts is a joke.
To compare fighting non trained fighters to MMA where they fight actual trained/skilled fighters is a joke.
Shaolin Kenpo is def. from southern fist Kung Fu. Does anyone know exactly which style or if it’s a blend of a few things?
