23 Years As A Military Sniper - "What's it like having someones life in your hands?"
Angelo has spent 23 years in the Army as a sniper, he reached the rank of colour sergeant and shares all his knowledge on mindset and physical training. We explore Angelo's career in the military and discover what its like to have someones life in your hands. Angelo saved his wife's life in a terrible car crash where they were hit by a stupid drink driver. On a personal note I absolutely love their family and I know first hand their strong character and how they have had to fight through adversity due to the incident.

Thanks I’m gonna train soon
Hi mate , do you have to have some sort of experience in the sport? As I was hoping to try some new sports while in the Military.
Yes mate. Judo, boxing, BJJ, football and badminton. Loads of opportunities in the military

Great interview still serving 33 years and counting 🇬🇧
Americans are more positive? It just comes down to the individual… no matter where they come from!
@@SlimJimJones in my experience they are.
My son did his 30 miler on 11 Nov a few years ago. Stopped at 11:00 to honour the fallen, without allowance for it in the time. Knee injuries, fractured hips, etc and still running over the line.

I personally found the endurance course the hardest. Couldn’t pass it until the final one. Squeaky bum time! HOOFIN!!

Is there a set arm distance when doing the test? I have been doing them with hands below chest but wondered if i should be doing them with wider hand placement aswell? Thanks
Let’s face it Royal Marines training isn’t that elite?? It’s basic stuff. There’s guys out there running 100 miles in 15:53mins lol
John, you're talking out your hoop
I really enjoyed that, and I completely get you in saying that the last week was more enjoyable. I expect by then, you have already earned the respect you deserve.
As you alluded to, the biggest thing about a thrashing at CTC was not knowing what was next or when it would end. All you could do was give your all and wait for it to end.
i did the first 2 weeks and i found it too easy so i left and joined the sas
I heard about you! They said you poo’d the bed on your first night?..
Thank your, sir, for making this.
My pleasure!
Your channel is incredible!
Thank you very much mate
Thank you, sir. ❤
Most welcome!
Hi mate, I recently left professional football after 4 years and find myself in a very similar position to you when you were 19. It would be great if I would able to pick your brains and ask some more in depth questions about your mindset and thinking at the time! If this is at all possible please let me know! Cheers.
Racing snake 😂 I might borrow that one
Haha
I used to load carry prior to Lympstone . Saturday took dog for walk with some weight in backpack. 2 days a week , light weight jogs with weight. 2-4 mile . Positive aspect also , as you know that you can carry weight. Mixture of static and specific weights.
Yer spot on mate! Wish I did load carries before going, we always get our clients doing them before going in.

The green beret is forever those who earn the right to wear it join the ranks of the best trained commandos on the planet they are legendary for courage in battle.
80+ pushups, 30+ pull ups, 100kg bench
I did it in the RMR and I remember how it turned my attitude to my day job upside down. Fridays used to drag on...but all of a sudden Friday afternoons went time very very quickly and before you know it your looking out the window in the back of a minibus heading out of London passed all the packed bars and clubs, knowing you'll be on a insertion march by midnight in some miserable training area. I used to tick off the 40 hours to go before going home on Sunday afternoon. It was worth seeing it to the end though. Probably the only thing ive done that im proud of.
Good tips 👍
@@archdornan8349 cheers mate
I bet his younger brother is sick of hearing " if you can fix a skate board, then you can fix a helicopter "
😂😂
Lympstone
Prep. I’d also love to hear if you managed to box in/for the Marines also
Yes mate I did the Corps championships but most my boxing in civvy street. As I struggled to box and do the job as a soldier due to the weight cuts.
@ awesome man, love the work you do, if I manage to pass out this year I’ll owe you big thanks 👍
If you have no example to look to at being a man, look at Jesus. Paul tells us that a man is supposed to love even as Christ loved the church (us), and Christ sacrificed his life for us and never complained. That’s what being a man is, self-sacrificing love
Jesus is my Lord and Saviour and who I look to as my source of strength. Bless you 🙏
I love you guys
Thank you bro! 🙏
@@CompleteCommandoIm gonna leave to bootcamp as sson as i leave secondary school, or thats the plan anyway!
Epic edit
Currently getting 40 press ups, 12 pull ups 56 sit ups, work in progress but trying to get close to the max
@@ForwardFilms121 love that mate! We always get our members to max out the tests if possible. PJFA is just the beginning of what’s to come so in terms of being as prepared as possible, surpassing those requirements is a good start
The muscle up!! Can bang out plenty of pull ups (20+), but cannot get the knack of getting up and over the bar!!!
its all in the technique mate. I know plenty of good lads who max out at only 10 pull ups who do muscle ups for reps
Everyone says it great fantastic but most leave at the first opportunity!!!

This video is amazing I hope you go far with your UA-cam channel Best of luck to you.
Thank you mate that’s kind
I’m withdrawing my application to the RM because of an injury that’s set me back months of progress so by the end of 2025 I want to be able to max out every test for the PJFA
Good luck mate
ever attempt UKSF selection mate?
No I didn’t mate. Some regrets but I choose another route.
Think purpose is more important than pounds in the bank tried to play it safe through my early 20s and absolutely regret it 28 now and don’t want to waste anymore time and regret not pushing myself!
Spot on mate
Great video
Thank you mate
Good for man, you do great work 👍
I appreciate that!
Do you do the bleep test 1st and then push-ups, sit-ups, and pull-ups, or is it the other way around?
Glad you’re out there making the most of life it looks great 👍
GO COMMANDO'S
Seems to have changed a great deal from when I joined in 79. Back then you had to be able to do a number of press ups and sit ups but the idea was your fitness would develop as training progressed starting with IMF through to the bottom field.
