Walking The Derby Friargate GNR Line (Great Northern Railway) Etwall to Mickleover

A walk along the former Derbyshire and Staffordshire extension of the Great Northern Railway. Filmed in May 2021, with archive images and a brief history, this video covers the line from Etwall (Heage Lane) to Mickleover (Station Road). The first outing for the GoPro 9, attached to a chest mount.

I’ve lived in Mackworth all my life, used to play in the tunnel when I was a kid, you could still walk all the way through to Mickleover station then. Walk my dog around the side of the old cutting and through the fields every day. Thanks for your video 👍
Thanks so much for your positive comments. Living in Mickleover, I’ve often walked & cycled the route (including Mackworth via the green belt). Pity they closed the tunnel. Thanks for watching.
