SaintZee is the hole in ym heart that will never heal. They were so good together and really brought life to a story that was a little all over the place.

Warp Effect's Fluke and Thor were my first thought as well. They included so much emotional range with such relatively short screen time. Also I thought the couples in Twins should get another shot with a better written series, since they had good chemistry despite the weird pacing and writing issues.

I remember vibe putting out a statement that they had released everyone from contract except boy. I think this was around the same time the quit releasing episodes of that spy mini series.

I’m about 1.5 yrs into watching BL. Bed Friend was my first and is one of my favorite BL shows, so I’m sad about the NetJames ship split. Maybe we’ll see them acting aside one another again someday (just putting that out into the Universe ✨), but if not, their’s was a great first ship to encounter in this genre. Super weird about those shady press conference comments, doesn’t sound like they were treated with kindness or professionalism in that moment.

I just want to point out that the reaction I've seen to freen and seng are not unique to GL fandoms, but with any w/w pairings. Also I'm a gay man, so I'm not trying to vilify a group of people, but ive been on a lot of fandoms, so this is just something ive noticed. In the Supergirl fandom, people shipped supercorp and attacked every actor that joined the show that could possibly be in the middle of that pairing (they werent even canon). The actor Rahul Kohli even received racist attacks, and talked about the experience. In The 100, fans of Clarke and Lexa attacked the actor that played Bellamy constantly, for the same reason. The Faking It fandom attacked Gregg Sulkin constantly. The Glee fandom, faberry shippers attacked Cory Monteith constantly too. So... ive seen this happening time and time again since 2010. I wanna say its just that queer people hold tightly onto the possibility of a pairing and get attached, so a threat to that feels like a threat to them. Im not sure tho, but it happens a lot

I'm a bit worried that Mew and Tul will have certain pressure on social media after they confirm their relationship. I hope they put some boundaries with the Thai industry sometimes because I really don't like how invasive reporters get. They make me feel uneasy and queasy. I'll never understand the hate of Gulf fans. They tried to disprove that Mew and Tul are together. Now, they are throwing a hate. Mew and Tul should be strong enough to shield their relationship from it.

Interesting couples to mention are Offgun and Taynew. Off had a gf for many years before he became a ship with gun, gun is friends with her, he still follows her till this day on IG. At fist I think there was no problem but later when their ship became bigger she got harrassed a lot. Off said they broke up but months later on an IG video people saw her with Off and friends video in the background. So he might have lied just to get people to leave her alone. And then New also was dating someone for a long time, then they broke up and a couple of months later got another GF. I think he never hides it and thai fans know but still want to say ridiculous things.Seriously if he wanted to be with Tay he could have once he broke up but obviously he didnt because they are friends.

Your timing on this is *impeccable* as it was literally a week ago I was worrying about Mew and Tul and hoping that they were getting support. I was briefly worried that they were somehow being pushed into this (like promoting a show) but finally realized there wasn't a show or anything. Fans who direct hate because an actor is not in their preferred ship in real life need to get a grip and SHUT UP. These actors are real people and they should get to have real relationships. We'll always have their fictional performances.

Put me down on the list of those who hopes any actor who announces a relationship with a have a happy, fulfilling experience with their significant other. I wish fans would be happy for the real person more than the fantasy person they create in their heads, but I suppose that is part of the issue with fandom and celebrity culture, especially idol style culture. I do like how ships help normalize the idea that men can flirt and be touchy-feely with each other, and the same goes for women. However fan culture should emphasize these ships are working relationships. Though they may well include friendship or even genuine romance, a promotional tour or fanmeet is business foremost. Anything beyond business is a nice bonus for fans, but it should not be an expectation.

I love this discussion. Also I want to add a rare case that hasn't been discussed is Nonkul. I like that Nonkul waited until I Feel You Linger In The Air (IFYLITA) had finished airing in order to confirmed that he was in fact talking to/in the process of getting to know aka dating Aff (his female partner in Find Yourself). While he did get a little flack from Chinese fans, I think in general the Thai fans reception to his announcement was largely positive (since they've mostly been suspecting it since he helped Aff at her father's funeral and she's the more popular actor between the two of them, not to mention that she's a one time divorcee and a mom). I like bringing the case of Nonkul up because I feel like reactions of the fans are largely dependent on how the actors present themselves during the promotions of a series and throughout that airing period of IFYLITA, Nonkul and Bright displayed only absolute professionalism, especially to questions where they're asked about "selling ship", they've presented themselves as friendly colleagues who focus quite a lot on the scripts and the acting performances. I think this is a good reason why fans of the series are more invested in the ship of Yai/Jom much more than real life Bright/Nonkul => allowing a generally positive reaction to his "dating" news. I think it'll definitely be more interesting in the future once we get more and more well-known/lakorn actors starring in BL/GL series, rather than just queer roles in films.

I think the word you guys wanted at the end with MewTul was "soft-launch." I think when Tul came back to Thailand, it was a slightly calculated soft-launch, because they did interviews together and events. Prior to that, I'm not sure.

While MewTul have gotten some positive reactions they have def. recieved hate . So much that Tul spoke about people saying they wanted him to die because of their relationship on the Ambulove show . Most of the hate comes from MewGulf fans who believe MewGulf are still together because MewGulf are sending them signs 😂 .They even raised a huge fuss because Tul went with Mew to Brazil. He also said in an interview recently that he was very afraid to go public but Mew made him feel comfortable to do so . Twitter and Reddit can be a dark place for MewTul supporters .

It's just shameful anti-fan behavior. I will never understand it.

I think Phayu should be closer to green. I'll admit breaking the car is bad, BUT he was always checking Rain's non verbal signals. And I always feel Vee (love machines) gets a bad rap, I wouldn't call him a red flag, but definitely yellow.

Fantastic interview! I just finished watching His Man 2 in anticipation of this and at first was like, "Wait, who's Dabit???" I started listening through a podcast app first but as soon as I recognized his voice I went to the YT to see him. Lots of respect to Dabit who REALLY put himself out there on HM2 right after his breakup, which brought him to where he is today. The BL recommendations with the immediate disclaimers were hilarious, and I enjoyed hearing about how he is interested in watching how power dynamics are played with in BL (I need to know what that other series he liked but forgot the name of was). The outrage about how clearly the Choco Milkshake writer wasn't a pet owner sent me. (fr where the butt pats??) I basically follow all his socials now thanks to this interview and saw that he was going to start watching/reacting to Only Friends, so mission accomplished. Good job, Pixie & Heather! 😻

Honestly by the end of the show, Joe's willingness to so easily forgive (and get down and dirty) with Ming made Joe less likeable. I spent the first part of the show sympathising deeply with Joe but after a while i was just fed up his lack of backbone. I don't love that the show did a 'let's redeem the abusive top' by just making Ming and Joe increasingly codependant and pathetic. I had so much hope in the beginning of the series that Joe wouldn't forgive Ming for kidnapping him and then literally indirectly causing his death. When Joe was shot I had faith that if he chose life over death that he would do so of his own volition, but nah it was Ming who told him not to die instead and he instantly caved. This is also so petty but I genuinely thought that, since both Ming and Joe are vers, at some point Ming would let Joe be on top, and that that would represent Ming conceding some of his power and allowing Joe to be in control for once - top/bottom discourse can get messy, homophobic and sexist very quickly so it isn't usually something I care to fixate on excessively...but it just felt so stupid to emphasise that both Joe and Ming are vers and then only have Joe be on top after he's been kidnapped, which was ultimately just an attempt to distract Ming. Argh. The last few episodes of this show frustrated me to no end.

This was an interesting show for me. I appreciated it more for the production quality, complex plot and characters. But I don't think I liked the main couple that much. I don't like couples that feel uneven in the level of their love or affection. Zhi Yuan seemed to be blinded by his love for Wei Qian to the point that he didn't seem to see any of his flaws. Or at least be upset by them. But that's more of a personal pet peeve. I dislike obsessive adoration if it's not acknowledged as such. I was done when Zhi Yuan wasn't more pissed at being sent away and just seemed to wait for 4 years. I think I'll read the novel for more context and then re-watch.

I, too, almost passed on this series after reading the synopsis. Somethings are not ok with me. I do not enjoy stories of romantic/sexual relationship between brothers of any degree. I knew the characters were not related by blood at the onset, but Qian raised Zhi Yuan from boyhood. This, as well as the implication that Qian was molested by his mother, could have been a storyline too disturbing for me to tolerate. However, the producers of this series did a wonderful job telling the story in a respectful and delicate manner, such that I found it beautiful, and not offensive. The flashbacks to childhood during the love scene was indeed jarring and made me somewhat uncomfortable. The version without these scenes much easier to watch.

When a novel is adapted into a series, there‘re always many aspects lost. Taiwanese director seems to lack the understanding of mainland things. They fail to capture the vibes in the original novel. this series become just a series, the original novel is more than that. it's pity that this can't be filmed in mainland of china .

I always enjoy your conversations! I agree that Ming is not as bad as Vegas. Novel Ming is worse than series Ming. I initially disliked both but both grew on me. Ming was not 100 percent bad and love for Joe changed him. I agree that Yai is the greenest flag, but i love Kang too!

great listen! loved the green flag debate! lolol...Having seen the three shows I'd have to pick Pisaeng as the greenest of flags..only because of his emotional intelligence..Kawi was quite a difficult character to love (unlike Jom) and Pisaeng did it beautifully...Naivete, in my view, can cause a lot of pain..this makes Yai slightly less green...but not by much! Kang goes right in the middle because he's emotionally intelligent and adorable... :)
