    Thanks for this video. I'm a long time roadie who now loves gravel also. I live about an hour away from Farmersville and was looking for a long route away from traffic. Thought the NETT was going to be perfect. But like dad always said, "measure twice, cut once." So glad I looked this up. I'm retiring soon in 2025, maybe I could get involed in helping this trail and Texas to become a better cycling state. Anyway thanks for your time and effort in making this video. My great grandpa's company started the construction on the road. He got the contract from the Conservation Corp. Most of my family on my dad's side is from the area. I was just up there for the Choctaw Nation Labor Day Festival. I want to bike this myself one day. My tribal nation every year does a bicycle ride from the mississipi Choctaw Reservation to the current capital of our tribal nation in oklahoma in honor of the trail of tears that brought our people to Oklahoma. Oklahoma itself is a name in Choctaw. many of the places in that corner of oklahoma are in choctaw.

      UA-cam seems to allow most music to bypass because I do not monetize my channel. Its been really wet in Texas and I have chosen to wait for dryer weather before I give the rest of the trail a try. Good luck on your journey.

    Hello. Great video. It's very informative. I've done most of the climbs in the Santa Monica mountains, but Mt. Baldy is new to me. I'm hoping to ride it in September. I'd greatly appreciate any insider info on this loop. I guess my main concern would be, are there any bad traffic sections? Maybe from the bottom of Mt. Baldy back over to Glendora? I'm from Pennsylvania and don't know the area. Thanks again for this great video!

    The wind sure did beat y’all up for sure! You rode this in the month of April, right? Looking back, would you have waited until May to avoid the cold and wet? Been watching all of your videos (up to this one and will continue). Also, looking back, would you consider east to west, or would you stay west to east? Thinking about doing the whole trail on a hard tail fat tire. What are your thoughts on a fat tire vs the trail?Thanks much! Off to watch Day 6…

    • @larrykurz6855
      @larrykurz6855 10 місяців тому

      We did most of it in March/April. April was good and May would probably be even better. We did it East to West and filmed one episode per week over a period of 8 weeks. Generally the wind blows West to East so that may have been better. A gravel bike would work on segments West of the Columbia River. East of the Columbia River I would recommend a hard tail.

    Massage Therapy helps to remove trigger points aka knots in your muscles. With PNF youre increasing ROM and flexibility however, if you have any "knot" in a muscle and your stretched wrong then you risk muscle injury as well as joint injury. I do PNF & Massage with client's & the combination is the maximum benefit to your body. PNF alone is very beneficial as you can see, but in my professional experience working with NFL & MLB athletes, that's my opinion. Glad PNF helped you. Sometimes you just dont have the right Therapist. A good therapist will add PNF to a session or recommend it esp if your having ROM issues and posture issues.

      @markfreiberg9906 A year ago I rode all ,but haven't watched all videos. Notably, east to Warden is diy on public roads/ canals. Ralston- Marengo can be sketchy and was warned by a local landowner that following grade across Cherry? Creek could be confrontational. The "clip" by Rock Lake ,I believe, was misleading. 2 mile stretch is clearly, physically barricaded. No signs, but definitely passable. 5th. Trail dies @ Idaho border.

    Sweet. I circumnavigated Rainier last season in a 165-mile day, sort of replicating the RAMROD route, and using my house as the start / finish. I made the mistake of riding the route clockwise, so climbing 410 was slow and annoying, especially the zero-shoulder bits. Out of Packwood, It was my first time riding Skate Creek Road...BEAUTIFUL! Might repeat this year...it's a really nice route! Thanks for the video.

    Although it is 130 miles long, the only sections that have been upgraded for use are the first 23 miles at the northern end and 15 miles at the southern end. Unless a trail association is formed to take up the cause, it will be a long while before the state finds the money to do any more. The northern section is in better condition with a section of it being paved.

    The trail looked pretty rough in your video but at least it seemed to be packed down. I was just out there yesterday (10/1/2022) and the portion through YTC was almost impassable due to thick sand. I started out in Ellensburg and had wanted to go all the way to the river but turned around at the east end of the tunnel bypass. Once off YTC the trail was packed down more.

    You mentioned having a chain come off and I instantly went back to the early 60s on my big sister's bike and it happening all the time, then I realized that I have ridden over 38K miles in the last 7 years and haven't dropped a chain for any reason... not once. Find the perfect bike and have a Rohloff Speedhub installed, you will never go back. If you are willing to deal with a rigid frame get a belt drive installed and never think about a chain again. I wanted a full suspension and because of the frame geometry I have to deal with a chain and tensioner but the chain line always stays straight. Stay safe.

    You're riding an unloaded nude 29"er and saying the road is *rough*... I'm not sure rails-to-trails has got it right yet. Long straight stretches of trail in the middle of BFE are great... if you can ride them.

    The Varia senses an object overtaking you. Its looking for an object with a speed differential. In a group ride the speeds match or are very close so alerts don't often occur. Similarly, if a car slows to shadow you and matches your speed, the radar will clear. Last tip: Ride with GPS mobile app can pair with the Varia 515. This would let you use a single phone app to both navigate and get the Varia alert functionality.

Once I have completed my workout I can create a Relive video on the Relive app. My Relive account sends me an email with the link to my video. I open the link and play the Relive video on my desktop.
