25 Year Old Small Engine Teardown: Part 1
Low key kinda cool tho
TUTORIAL PLEASE!!😢
Oh dang I fixed this car a very long time ago. I hope this video shows enough it's pretty simple.
Whats wrong with them?
I wanna restore my 1989 mighty max my grandma left me but first I gotta start with my engine I’m pretty sure its all corroded ☹️
Hi. I have 1988 4X4 5spd Weber carb - before had start issue after 3day of no drive… I put carbole 42 (Amazon) electric fuel pump - now is great … I lower truck only for lilttle - have nice look…. parts in USA not many… get most part from online Philippines no problem 🤷🏻♂️
SMH
Double wishbone suspension buddy. Also it technically is an NA Supra engine. The 1998 and up NA Supras came with the same 2jzge vvti as the IS300. Granted most people in America assume the NA Supras only had Non vvti as we only got 1 year (1998) with the NA vvti 2jzge. While Japan got the Supra for several more years. And again yes all 1998 and up NA MKIV Supras had the 2jzge vvti.
...the mikuni carb has 5 bolts, 4 around the twin barrels, easy to identify, the 5th somewhere, the manual doesn't say nor shows whereabouts ... where is it, anybody knows or has a picture ? G54B engine 2.6L AT Mikuni 32-35DIDTA carb
Love tdi!❤
been looking at replacing the Mikuni with a Weber ... my state tho does not approve them ...because ... they have not been approved ... even if the Weber has better emissions & mileage ... how to go about this to approve the Weber ?
...is the smoke from actually carbon buildup, or is it the seafoam burning ? ... ie, does the engine smoke eventually dies off & then starts burning clean ?
It's from the carbon being burnt up from the seafoam cleaning!! It eventually stops smoking then runs clean!!
...my timing chain has a bit of slack, about 1/2" or so, on the driver's side ... passenger side is tight, the side where the tensioner is installed ...the chain, sprockets, all look good & shinny, no sign of damage as far as the eye can see ... should this be a concern ? G54B engine, 2.6L auto, gas ..
Chain stretch can happen over time. if there is that much slack it's time for a new chain my friend.
Hi, the part shown here is a vacuum pump for the brake system. This particular tdi. BRM doesn't use a high pressure pump. It has pump injectors. Each injector is its own pump. Otherwise nice job!
I must have not understood that when I read the manual. Thank you!!
Wow thats a crazy transformation, looks so good probably feel good too
thanks!! Yea it's pretty awesome. So much more comfortable
It's actually a multilink suspension with a standard control arm on top and multiple links on the bottom.
Nice socket. Horrible music choice.
Haha thanks just using what the algorithm wants
Fire
Thank you!
Hello Yusuf! He’s my teacher for the auto tech program at my school. Awesome teacher!
You're an awesome student 🙏

💯💯💯💯
Good job!😊
Thank you!
Love it
Thank you!!
Delete this video now it shows your car address
I bought a K&N with a heat shield for mine & put the Ram Air tube back inside and got longer hood hinge bolt screws and spacers to raise the back of the hood about a 1/2 inch which produces a cowl induction effect for under $20 instead of paying 💰$1,200 for a carbon fiber hood 💯 You gotta find a way to get rid of all that hot air or it’s gonna suck it (literally).
Song link?
Good job champ🎉! This is my dream too
Appreciate it bro
Yup
Promo sm
You got any parts let me know what you find
I got a 89 dodge ram 50 my truck broke the rocker arm for no reason setting in my yard 2.6 engine 88,000 miles 😅
Rockauto.com has been very good to me!
Hard to find parts to these now
Not really
@@officialworstmechanic I wonder why all the 2.6 engines cores or locked up
Run away from this truck parts are nonexistent now

Ramadan Mubarak!!
Yep... used that stuff for a very very very long time!
It's the best!
You right I have a 1964 cadillac convertible and it's a dream
Oh man what a sweet ride!!!
Dude all we earn is 80s and early 90s trucks mostly all old Fords in Jeep grand Cherokee’s but once they took the striate six out of the jeep Cherokee is their junk!!!
Absolutely!!!!! 💯💯💯💯
I’ve been contemplating doing this. Just picked up an old 86 b2000, runs a little rough and idles high. Still trying to figure out how to adjust it :p
Oh that's sweet! I think it's definitely worth the seafoam treatment. There's great info on carb adjustment and tuning online. I'll make a video on it soon.
Only had two trucks one for work maybe fifteen years it looked so bad left note not to tow I'm coming back. Finally got rid i beat piss out of it. So got one ten years newer it's a 86 with great motor fresh paint but it needs lil work but it's looks great hauls ass. Old one hauled ass to stopping that's another story. Have great life peace
What trucks did you have? That's awesome! Seems like modern trucks just don't have soul and don't last as long.
@@officialworstmechanic well at around 20 bought 78 C30 from brick layer every car it seemed aimed for it so I painted bunch wrecked cars some laugh so say I'm sick but at least count I,d been. Paid about 15 k from other ins. Co one guy said you know your not gonna fix it I said but your damn sure gonna pay for it. Then I I got real sweet old 86 GMC had some bondo . His truck truck I'm waxing my new truck an offer caught bodo shot it across the street. I dont do that no more it's got lil rust in normal spots but I'm 2nd owner he took real good car. He just got new Harley I said what you gonna do with old one . He caught his son is trying to buy from me but it was his for free he said no I went got 3k have great day
@@barrybray4446 That's pretty sweet!!
Yup, describe my shop 😂
Im worry of doing it to my 1.9 and make a disaster !! Bores are in specs but look shiny and want to put new rings ...how it ended!!???
ended well for me
Middle point try of gf
What?
What do you inspect
Engines mostly
Congrats your living me dream 🎉
🙏🙏🙏🙏
I always get scared it’s gonna shatter
I have a 2001 excursion with twin I beam. I belive they stopped and did coils on 2wd in 05
Do you have the option to use ARP studs for this application?
Yes but they are very expensive
IRS, but I assume it cost a lot to convert sold axle.
Yes very expensive and lots of custom parts
Us in Alaska are laughing at this.
😂😂😂 I can only imagine how bad it is up there
Sorry, not the worst if that happens. Living in Colorado with a lot of snow, it just falls off in small chunks that break pretty easily, no accidents caused. If you hit the brakes hard, it won't fall on your windshield either.
Causes lots of accidents by me
@@officialworstmechanic Interesting, haven't seen that before. Not even in Alaska as @PitKings mentioned.
@@spaceefficient9540 probably Because we get lots of compacted icy snow and we have lots of tailgaters
Wait where do you live because the same thing happened to me in California
That's crazy
Yea, I’ve left my b-b-q grill out in the rain too! And that’s what happened! (lol)
hahahaha
