Excited to see a new variant sudoku channel, glad you approach all difficulties of puzzles! You can use any of my puzzles for videos if you wish, all on LMD
Never ever say something like: «9 can't go on an arrow» Because it will give idea to the constructors ! And they will come up with a rule that permit it! Like the rule: «In the grid there is 9 unique doubler cell...» 😉
Ah, but I LOVE it when setters confound my expectations! I also try to say things like in NORMAL sudoku puzzles, 9 can't go on an arrow, but I do forget sometimes :D.
9:04 i agree with u, that the 3 must see 3 cells, but i disagree, that this cell is R9C3. It could also be the cell above the 3.
Yeah, I think you're right. I don't think I can eliminate the cell from being above the 3 at that time. Eventually, it gets there, but I kind of jumped the gun on that cell being a cave cell. Nice catch!
I like the math in this one! I did a similar sudoku that was featured on Logic Lemur Gaming. It had only a few given digits or no given digits, though.
Just subbed . Just the right difficulty for me. .Look forward to more.
pro tip: you can't have checkerboard patterns in cave puzzles

Masyu is actually the specific genre of loop puzzles that uses those black and white circle rules to define how the path turns. It only seemed natural to combine that rule with our other favorite black and white circles: kropki! After I had come up with the masyu/kropki combo for the circles I just needed to find a line type that the loop could be, and region sum lines felt like a natural fit. The rules did end up being a bit lengthy because of that, especially for people who haven't encountered masyu before. As for actually setting the puzzle, once I had decided on the rules, the circle placement actually fell into place fairly easily with my intended break-in involving the three white circles. I was a bit disappointed that I needed to add given digits, but they're a small concession that make the solve path a lot smoother (and the puzzle unique). Your solve was exactly as I had intended, so great work and thanks for solving!
This puzzle was featured on Logic Lemur Gaming. I accessed it from there and solved it, and watched him solve it.
I think the row and column indicators in the rules are for colorblind people so they know which lines are German whisper lines, which is the renban line, and which is the region sum line.
Ahhhh, I unnecessarily struggled with this one because I forgot about the arrow from r1c4 to r3c2. I could have placed those digits much sooner, but instead I did a CTC-esque roundabout way to narrow down the options in Box 3 and prove that r3c3 couldn't be 6. Anyway, did it in about 40 minutes.
I've done similar things to that many times. It's all part of the process :D.

Been watching and trying out the Sudokus for awhile now. Thanks for the videos
This one is neat! My time was 11:39.
This puzzle was set for the weekly Scojo discord prompt, and was an idea proposed by Dorlir (Prof.Dori on LMD). The goal was to set a snake/loop puzzle, the twist was that you couldn't have more then 10 clues on the grid (and a given digit counts as a clue). Thank you for the solve. :)
You made a mistake from the start. Row 4 col 5 cannot be 35. it is 36 You establish that the 2 dot are the same. Either they are 12 or 24 so 24 will add to 6, and 12 to 3. to sum to 5, you will need the dot to be : 14 which is not a valid black dot. or 23 which is not a valid black dot. And that error make the puzzle longer
Yeah, he got lucky.
You're right. My bad. I was probably tired when I made that mistake. I'm pretty sure I would have figured it out once something broke very badly. Nice catch!

I really struggle with snakes and yin/yang type puzzles. not sure why! anyway, a slog to 75 mins but delighted with it and what a lovely puzzle
00:58:15
I love sudoku but ive always been either really slow or just unable to accurately complete mid level puzzles. I randomly found this while looking for stuff to watch during my long workdays. Thanks for the series i look forward to watching each episode.
Thank you for solving my puzzle! You are great at clearly explaining your thought process and deductions. Also, you did calculate the integral correctly😃. Bounded integrals represent the area under the curve. The region sum line somewhat resembles the graph of x^3 (not perfectly from 1 to 5 for cosmetic reasons) and the sum of all the cages under the line is 156!
Thank you for solving my puzzle. The one thing that quickly cracks the entire puzzle after the break-in is noting that the 2 in r6c4 sees r7c6 via anti-knight. You could have seen this around the 22 minute mark unfortunately 🥲. Regardless, this video is a showcase of amazingly complex deductions and patience and I enjoyed watching!

1:12:12 Why can't R6C2 if it's light not be a 3 ? i think, u don't know the rule of leftovers ?
You're right. I made a small bad assumption there. Eventually, it'll resolve that it can't be a 3 because R4C2 must be a 3 to add up to 9 in R2C3, but yeah, it's incorrect to assume that R6C2 can't be 3 at the point I'm at in the puzzle. I don't use the orange region already having a 3 really anywhere else until after I find a 3 at R4C2 so the rest of the logic follows, but yeah, I over-assumed at that point. Nice catch!
@@FrankPuzzles u know the solve technik with leftovers ? it's powerful on many irregular sudokus.

Sometimes, puzzles ranked as easy by LMG are, indeed, easy. Most times, aren't. This time, that proverbial grain of salt you've mentioned in your disclaimer turned out to be the size of the boulder chasing down Indiana Jones thru' the cave. Anyway, beautiful puzzle - took me some 35 minutes.
this was fun.
Thanks for chosing one of my many theme puzzles for your channel 👍🏻
Thank you for the feature! Nice solve!
Wow, this one is neat! I like working out the details of what digits work next to more and more known digits on the whisper line!
This puzzle was my attempt at emulating SamuPiano's setting style, who is famous for using split pea lines in conjunction with other variants, always with a witty pea pun in the title! Thanks for solving it!

Great solve Frank! (I'm a guy BTW). I'm glad you enjoyed the puzzle! Cheers and God Bless 😎
At 30:14, r7c4 could be 6 if it was shaded and therefore didn't follow the german whisper constraint. That would leave an unshaded 4 beneath it and shaded 5 on the other side of the white dot. It turns out that won't be the case, but you don't have enough info at this point in the puzzle to realize that. What eventually will sort that out is the 9 in Row 8 that will prevent the unshaded 4 from being able to connect to anything. I fell into that trap a couple times of conflating "cell can't be unshaded" with "cell can't be X" and eliminating a candidate that could otherwise be shaded.
Thank you for this. I attempted this a few months ago and got stuck as I didn't figure out the logic in Box 3. With your help I was finally able to finish
00:16:09
Thanks for solving this! Copycat cells are an invention I'm pretty proud of, and I have a whole series of them. This is one of the easier Copycat puzzles, along with Copycat Yin Yang (The rest are pretty hard).
Isn't that a general rule in this type: No checkerboard pattern shaded-unshaded is allowed?
Yes. Cave rules are basically yin-yang (minus the no 2x2 rule) where there's an imaginary ring of shaded cells outside the perimeter of the grid. Because the shaded cells are all connected to the edge of the grid, it has the same effect as if they were all connected to each other. You can then use the same argument you would use in yin-yang to disallow checkerboards in cave.
Thank you, I enjoyed it. Some thoughts - mark section rules in the timeline / no need to explain "basic sudoku", you might just do it and state "resolves nicely ..." / give us some emotional contribution - how do you like the puzzle, etc. ... Sounds reasonable? I will recommend you, dear Frank.
Hi, Villse here! Thank you so much for solving my puzzle! I had a blast watching the solve :) And as you said, this was my first crack at making a sudoku so really glad you enjoyed it!
