A Taste of the Pantanal
Переглядів 1258 років тому
Here is some video taken during our recent trip to the Pantanal in Brazil. It's not easy taking video from boats so there are some shaky parts but the wildlife sightings are amazing so I tried to keep as many in the final cut as possible.
Bison Chasing Wolf

Arizona Trail Cam - Name that Animal
Переглядів 42 тис.9 років тому
We have had a trail cam up in our yard for a few months that captures video via a motion sensor. It's not tremendously high quality so I thought I would have fun with the clips. There are 16 animals to identify. More information is in the video and the answers are at the end. How many points can you get?

This is hilarious!
Thanks and thanks for including the names of the animals.
That is a mini pig.
That’s not a mini pig.😂 They aren’t even pigs. They are peccaries. Skunk like pigs but not pigs. They come in my yard all the time and they’re stinky. They will attack you like wild boars do so if you’re ever in a state that has them and you see them don’t try to walk up to them especially if you have a dog. They’re nearly blind and think dogs are coyotes.
The one game bird with the extra headgear was a Partridge, interesting variety of animals!
Pantanal?
Yes, the southern pantanal. An amazing place.
I remember that the only vehicles on that unpaved road was one beer truck, one bus to the mountain area of Costa Rica. We had a wonderful time traveling all over C.R. in a rented Land Cruiser. The rainforest was unforgettable and the kind people of C.R. Some of our accommodations were rough but worth the fresh fruit, vegetable meals prepared. Life was an adventure 🤓2000.
Might be fun to test out pie pans of food. Grandma and I did this one year (sadly no trail cam-just us watching in the daytime) We tried bird seed, then cracked corn, cream of wheat with lots of milk, sunflower seeds, cans of tuna, sardines, and bits of raw hamburger. It was fascinating, to see what ate what.
Benny Hill theme: 1 point
This was fun!
That was really cute !
1& 2 are coyotes?
Bobcat marking over the fox's was interesting to see. I didn't know there was interspecies territorialism like that.
Best holiday and bird watching Ive ever had .
I agree Julian. It's a wonderful spot for bird watching.
tell us how to visit this wonderful place! I was in Costa Rica but not there!
Rosemay, it's easy to book directly with the lodge via their website. www.arenalobservatorylodge.com/en/.

What method did you use to get from the San Jose air port to the Lodge?
Hi John. I flew from SJ to Puerto Jimenez. You can arrange for the lodge to pick you up there for the 45 minute drive to the lodge. Both Nature Air and Sansa fly domestic routes in Costa Rica. It's worth it!
Ok sweet.... I'm planning a trip to there or ylang ylang.
how thrilling!
so beautiful to see parrots in the wild.
si existen las anacondas en ecuador
wooww amazing
Thanks Teresa. This was shot with a little Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX9V. It takes great video and the price was right although there may be better cameras out now since this is over a year old.
Great video..so clear. Just wondering what kind of camera/video camera you were using? We are heading there in July and would love to take quality video of all the sights and sounds.
wow that's awesome! took a tour at sani lodge last week but no otter sightings.
This video is from May but we have been to the Osa in both Feb and May. There are lots of differences between the wet and dry season but both are great times to go.
Thanks for posting this! Love hearing it in addition to seeing the photos! What time of year were you in the Osa?
