The state of Ohio has many cemeteries they are responsible for. I found it unsettling the prison cemeteries are not marked properly. I&E funds are supposed to pay for markers……….

I do know at least 99% of them are unclaimed bodies. There is 1 that the family claimed, however (I could be wrong) the family couldn’t pay for proper burial or funeral even so the state went ahead and buried him there. At least that’s what I was told.

yes, that road was there back in the day. That is the Emmitsburg Road and was lined with a fence the infantry had to climb over. They were pretty much targets while so doing.
