I agree with on going cold turkey on spending. It's just not something that I find personally sustainable. For my low buy this year I'm using a WWII rationing coupon book for clothing and craft supplies (I got a free digital copy through the UA-camr RetroClaude's Ko-fi). I actually did a low buy using this method last year, and I liked it enough to do it again this year. It's a good way to reduce the number of items you buy, while still allowing you to refresh and update your wardrobe.

Just started following you. I've had 2 operations last year. N cancer. Now next week will be my first time on chemo. They say I will be given it over 6mths. 2 weeks on. 1 week off. Surepose to be oral meds. It's good to hear. Off like minded cancer patients. Thanks for sharing ❤

Nice to see you Amanda 🙂. I treat myself on the weekends to lattes, mostly mocha. Purchases on food run about $60 to $100 per week. I make a lot from scratch. I buy lots of used items from second hand stores, jeans especially…lol. I don’t need much, I have some clothes that are over ten years old so I have a lot to mix and match. Happy New Year 💕🌸

I like your thinking, l have too much stuff that l never wear, l find what is comfortable and wear it to the end of its life. My so called good clothes hardly get any wear and end up at the goodwill store ❤

I am on a no buy for 2025. I added all my spending from last year on my hobbies and I was shocked. I have been low buy this past December as a warm up and I feel so free. I stopped going on Instagram (I never did TikTok) and stopped watching any kind of video that could influence me to want something. I realized my main issue is that phone addiction is the root of it all. My goal is to live life like it’s the 90’s again 😊

Sounds like a great plan. Budgeting your coffee or tea out is a good way to save. You need to have a treat at least once per week. I live in an area that has a Walmart and H-E-B for groceries. Other stores are an hour away so I shop Amazon and have prime which saves me a lot of money. I compare Walmart and Amazon prices and most of the time Amazon is cheaper. My hubby goes to yard sales and thrift stores where he will find stuff toys for less than 50 cents for our dog who he has spoiled. Happy New Year 🎊

Yes I agree food is too expensive especially if you want to buy healthy. I’m divorced and an empty nester. I recently retired and thankful that I could. I’ve started making simple soups for supper that can last me all week. I just make it up. I boil a few chicken breasts in water then take it out and shred, put it back in same water and add low sodium chicken broth. I add some frozen vegetables as they are healthier than canned. I either add some noodles or rice and only need to add seasoning to taste. It’s not bad. I’ll have an egg, cottage cheese with a fruit that as on sale (I’m not picky) for breakfast. I normally just eat two meals a day. I do splurge once in a while and get chips. I’m learning to ration. Your hair has grown back beautifully. I have your wood piece hanging on my wall with the mountains, crescent moon, and stars and love to say a prayer at night for a bright tomorrow. Hugs ❤

I agree food is so expensive. I want to eat healthy but honestly it's too costly as I'm a widow on SS. I can't go through my savings on food. Its awful. I want to not eat processed foods.ALdi's is great but I don't get there often enough as its not close by anymore since moving.
