Just found this clip of the Ironman 1989. Crazy... I ran this race in 10:33. Wow.. it's a walk through time of 35 years ago.

Thank you for posting this video. I cannot begin to put into words how awesome this video is. It’s like going back in a time warp. Mike Pigg, my fav triathlete ever absolutely crushed it. It’s incredible. He beat Mark Allen. Just incredible. I did a 10 mile training run with Mark in December 1987 and let me tell you people, Mark is a beast. And Mike beat him! Respect to both obviously. They’re both incredible. Again, thanks for posting this dude. Made my day for sure. So many iconic athletes participating on both men and women categories.

My first ironman was this race. 10hr45min, representing SDSU triathlon team. Dave Herr did amazing see him finish 4th and dong his legendary hand stand. Fun memories.
