He explains that although one is not allowed to write on shabbos, they are permitted to do so if it is in an effort to save a life. So especially when YK falls on shabbos, R' Levi Yitzchak was very calm because even Hashem wouldn't write on shabbos unless it is to save a life. We can, therefore, have the confidence that we will be inscribed in the book of life because writing on shabbos is only permitted in order to save a life.
