helloooo :) it’s been a long while since i’ve uploaded. there’s just so much footage, i’ve found it a bit overwhelming. hey ho, here’s my sapporo video!!
** the coach incident **
as you saw it was really snowing it down, it was so thick at one point you could barely see out the window. the roads weren’t really de-iced so the ground was basically just one massive slip and slide. after we went to the blue pond, we went on a 5 minute drive down to the waterfall. the coaches were told to park on a downhill slope, a slope that has not been de-iced or clear. the coach tried to break but couldn’t, we slid down the slope and hit the coach in front smashing the windshield. luckily neither driver or the standing tour guide were hurt. the coach in front didn’t take too much damage, unfortunately it was full of people so i’m sure it was just as scary and uncomfortable for them as it was for us. we got off the coach with no idea how long this would take to solve. a few hours had passed and the hotel nearby kindly gave some of us a lift to the next location where another coach was set up ready for us to take us home. we were hours behind schedule and it felt like the coach was in a rush to get us home but the roads were still covered in snow so it felt like we were skidding on the roads. even when we were at the destinations the ground wasn’t cleared, there was no salt or anything. because of how many people were there, the snow quickly turns into ice and people just kept falling over. it was a nice day but it didn’t feel too safe. i don’t think i would do another winter tour there for safety reasons.
