Living Life on a MTB in Mt. Nebo, Arkansas
Trip to Arkansas and this is where we ended up at. Caught in a down pour rain storm was not what we had in mind, but we rolled with it. Thanks to all the mountain bikers who worked so hard to get the trails to where they are today.
Enjoying today's MTB Trails and Bike Parks.

One of the gnarliest trail systems in the midwest of U.S.A. period AKA the human cheesgrater!!! awesome place, come prepared.
This is probably one of the last edit 1s sold. They're out of business now.
Anybody know why ?
Is that shuttle run 30 bucks every time or for the whole day?
ive been out there, really well run park, great time
Looks like I need to invest in a mountain bike...could use a new hobby 🤔
Forsure bro
thank you. Great video
Bicycles, ebikes and escooters are great options for last mile, short distance travel. Cities need to do more to encourage people to ride bicycles by providing safe, protected bike lanes and trails. Every adult and child should own a bicycle and ride it regularly. Bicycles are healthy exercise and fossil fuels free transportation. Electric bicycles are bringing many older adults back to cycling.
It's all coming. I prefer to stay off the roads though. To many crazy drivers out there.
My heart is beating 1,000 mins per min
Lol. Yea I mint miles per minute lol
“I can’t understand how this is a Black Diamond”. Then immediately proceeds to dismount the bike to make it though technical features.
Waaaay back in 1999 I went there with Towson U Mountain biking club. We started up top at same point but stayed on the gravel road, don’t think the trail was there yet. I swear it was nuts after only 20 seconds it felt like we were doing 100 mph. Around 1/4 mi. down the road took a sharp right and we all ate it pretty bad. That was our wake up call LOL. Had fun though!
What bike are you riding in this video?
This was my 2016 Transition BLT.
Do you still ride at scales ?
Yes I sure do.
Hey trails with Matt! I'm an Indiana resident also and was wondering if you've ever made it out to obannon woods in Corydon? Its some serious shit.i go to scales lake once a year on the way to my annual Bentonville trip and like what you guys have got going on there.👍🤘
Yes, I have been there. Good trails there aswell. I'm wanting to go to Bentonville. It's on my bucket list.
Yoooo going thar tomorrow and I seen this vid on my recommended lol
Nice video.
and do u need a full helmet
Nope. I just prefer it.
why r u going so slow
Lol
My 1x Trek Marlin 7 maxes out at about 25mph on flat ground...kind of wish I had another gear or two.
I wish I lived closer to this
How is this bike park considered indianas best over southern indiana brown county and hoosier national forest rated black in the tall hill? makes zero sense. the actual trails here are boring, this place just has "cool jumps"
My guess is bc it has jumps and not just trails.
stfu kid you dumb hater maybe keep your stupid fuckin questions out of here and go ask your karen mommy. You know this place was made in honor of those who died for you and you stupid fuckin questions. just, stfu...
I have a 2016 and my son has a 2014. Black Market bikes are a work of art, super light and an heirloom quality product.
how does that app work for you? it crashes all the time, get's terrible reviews on the app store.
Well my biggest problem is syncing the gopro. It memerizes the gopros but then will not reconnect. That's my biggest flaw. It hasn't crashed on me but I also dont use it everyday.
At 6:33 I ate sh:t my first time riding it 🤣
Did ya get up and keep going? And did ya have fun otherwise? I have always said if ya dont crash your not pushing the limits.
fun times
nice ride
My brother at 11:37!
Hey man, that is not right. Leave the 10mm cap bolt that u removed first in & just undo it all with the 8mm inner bolt. It will push the crank arm off. You can remove the 10mm after to clean & regrease for the reinstall
Thanks for the info. I will keep that in mind for next time.
How do you get to this trail?
Sorry so late on a response. If your at Snowshoe and are by the bike shop it will be to the left down the hill just a bit. Great trail.
My favorite place to ride.
Really like your video. thanks for posting it. I visited it for the first time a couple weeks ago and had a blast.
Cool tour, just ran across your channel, cool stuff! I loved riding it when I was there! I’m now a subscriber!
Thank you for subscribing. I have many more videos to mak just gotta find the time. This place is rad. Trails, jumps and a dual slalom. They even have a jump into the lake event.
Trails With Matt I understand finding the time is tough, but it’s worth it!
I rode here in october last year on my way to Bentonville and will do the same this week.somehow I didnt find the seesaw and jumps.still had a good time.what is the trail called that has the jumps?
There are several trails that have jumps along them. There is now a dual slalom course aswell. I will be making a video in the future of this trail. The jump line is at the very beginning by the skills section. There is a map of the trails at the entrance just past the guard shack to the left.
That hike-a-bike section on Daniel uphill absolutely sucks, but I bet it would make for a rippin' fun time going downhill...the lower section of Daniel after it meets Farlow is so much fun! If you can commit to letting the bike do the work, and just focus on staying upright, it's a blast!
These trails look like lots of fun and fast
They are short but fun trails forsure.
Hoping to ride there next weekend
How come you didn’t hit the jump
I wanted to. Maybe next when I get back from snowshoe.
Fun ride! Had a good time!
I’ve been in the gym watching this kick ass video
Yea I love riding there
You Need to try the widow maker next time you are at santos.
I will do. May be a couple years.
Would these trails be worth hitting right since all this rain?
No, it has rained way to much. The trails would be an absolute mess and then it would take more work to fix them.
@@mwwest1 alright, thanks.
You use the end cap to jack the crank Out using an 8mm Allen key. This is so wrong. You should watch some other UA-cam videos if you don’t know what you are doing! Bad Advice!
This way worked for me. I'm still riding it. As I said in the video im sure there's a special tool to do this job properly but this is what I had to use.
Great video , what camera do you use ? It’s smooth not shaking from trail
Thanks. I use the Hero 4 with Evo ss mounted to stuntman chesty. Record in 4k.
@@mwwest1 thank you
@@mwwest1 I live in Boonville ,I got MTB last year and ready to ride scales lake trails .
You need to ride wet roots in pisgah and I'll show ya slick! LOL
Jm Outdoors I would love to go back there.
Nice rip. That's a pretty long, awesome descent. How long does it take to get to the top?
Depends on which way you go. However on this ride I had a shuttle which makes it that much more fun.
How long are the trails at Scales and how many trails are there to choose from??
Around 7 to 7.5 miles, there are a few different ways you can take to make it longer if you wanted to.
@@mwwest1 thank you.. we are fairly new to the area and are looking for outdoor things to do. Can you hike the same trails?
Yes you can hike the trail. Just note that bikes are on the trail aswell. And going in either direction.
Super helpful video. Thank You!! Taking a family trip in April and will have my kids riding. Your video gives a great snapshot of what to expect!
Have you ridden the Teddy Bear trail at Scales Lake, Indiana?
Yes I have. I will make a vid of it next time when weather is decent.
This place has always been on the bucket list. So many features. The "BIG HAMMOCK" looks awesome. It's nice that you can ride back around and do it multiple times. Sweet rip through Santos!!!
It is definitely a good place to be during the winter. And yes the hammock was awesome.
Great idea with the POV angle. Don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone use that camera angle in a bike mechanics vid but it works.
Nice edit. I want to go back.
Sweet
Awesome video, Matt!
