It appears you’re a fellow Texan with the heb distilled water lol. What sarracenia is that?
I just planted white ones zone 8b/9a.
These actually grow well in southern California even though we have milder winters. The San Diego zoo has these planted all through their landscaping.
I thought they could grow in zone 7? Thats what brecks bulbs says.
Wow
how does it smell ?
What percentage of moss do you use in those species?
Absolutely beautiful bird nest fern , really lovev it
It is a Rapido
after domancy the bulb will become back bulb and the leaves never grow back? flower only for the next new bulb? how many times the flower blom for each bulb? thx in advance..
Very nice vedio.....I like ferns See ours in SriLanka
Nice can the bird nest fern be hang in a bright balcony?
Where oh where did you get this? I want one!
Hello new friend, I like this plant do much . I just got it from Garden work . Nice to meet you today
Very helpful thank you ! I just recently got one that’s already mounted and wasn’t sure how often to water it
Happy to see a video about the "silver leaf".😍 I have one too. Can't say much right now, puchased her 3 moths ago, pottet her in pure bark with many airholes, so that the roots can dry up fast. She gets much light, now in winter sunlight at a south window with day-temperatures about 22°C and night- temperatures about 19°C in my living room. She gets water when nearly dry, that's about every third day right now. I's a "young" plant, with four leaves and developes it's first spike now.🤗 Would appreciate to see how yours is doing. 😁
Great informative video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for the information. I have had my 1st 2 Monnierara Millennium Magic for about a week. One is loosing leaves, one not...so your information was reassuring. I feel like a new Mom, watching them breathe.
That's great!
My catasetum are now dormant...only have 2 of those type...
Hello Please make a video about Galeandra care. Thanks 🙂
Can do! I only have three, but I have had them a while now!
Great info Matthew! It’ll be my 2nd year with my Clo. Rebecca Northen ‘Mikabi’ -starting to see some signs of dormancy!
Nice job! I made a device to grow more efficiently I have a video on how to build it !
More efficiently... how? And growing what more efficiently?
How do you cool your greenhouse? And where did you get the clips to hold the misters?
My greenhouse reaches a lowest annual temp of 62 in the dead of winter. Current lows are 69-72. Highs of 80-90 still for this time of year and my warm growing range. The clips came with the orbit misting kit I use
Nice to see how your greenhouse has evolved. I like all the nepenthes.
Really pretty
I have a Dragon Charmy seedling. Has yours bloomed?
Not yet! Unsure how big it needs to be, but mine is a good size now. Just trying to figure out what triggets flowers in this cross, since Phalaenopsis japonica needs cool temps and Rhynchostylis gigantea needs warm temps
Nice update Matthew! Very cool nepanthes. Mind sharing your spider mite treatment? Thanks!
Sure thing! My treatment involves first hosing the leaves down to kick off as many mites as i can, then i follow up(after it dries off again) with a mixture of 50% distilled water and 50% Isopropyl alcohol(70% or higher concentration) with 5-10 drops of baby oil, 10 drops of neem oil, and a tiny tiny drop of dawn dish soap. Too much soap and you damage the cuticle layer of the leaf, so i use the teenie amount so it is safe. The dawn allows the oils to mix into the water. Spray every 3 days on the foliage, covering the top and bottom of the leaves.
When is the best time to transplant a catasetum plant?
So sorry I didnt see this! but for context now, transplant during dormancy before root growth begins in spring
Phal.Shilleriana is a mottled leaves with gorgeous pinkish fragrant flowers. Phals bellina are both natives of Philippines. Your temp.ranges are appropriate for these phalenopsis. I can't bloom these phals in Manila, the capital, for the daily temperature is too hot for them. Four months of evening cold temps,(16-20°C) and max of 26°C in the day beginning November will make Phal.Shilleriana to bloom.

Vectreebel vs beedrill
Good video, just received my 3” pots from SVO. I didn’t see any new nubbins, but big leaves. 10” so I watered them. Roots were under sphagnum, not sure how to assess them properly. Hope I did the right thing.
I saw your Awesome video . really enjoy your UA-cam channel, they are great, and I am very impressed with the video Please feel free to leave your message or email us at marshydrofactorystore@gmail.com
I love those green plants thanks for sharing bless you
Great video! My SVO Black Pearl is still growing and maturing and its leaves are all green and it suddenly put out a new bulb (no new roots yet). Do I continue watering or stop because its so confusing as I see most culture sheets say to not water till the new roots are a certain length?. But on the other hand I still have the older bulb still growing and maturing. Thanks and I hope you keep on making more catasetum videos!
Lindosss 🤩, amuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
Whoa! That’s cool!
Calcium nitrate and magnesium sulfate deficiency on the mount and the big phalaenopsis.
I had this one many moons ago. Might just get it again.
I have them. I think they look more like Coelogyne (which they are related to), than Cattleya.
Cool collection. I tried one of these kind of plants and killed it pretty fast, a fly trap. Yours look great. 👍🏻
I just got my first ground orchid last week and had a few questions on how they would grow in Texas. You answered all of them. Thanks!
Very pretty! I would like to try to grow this in a pot. I know it would be too cold for them here in northern Ohio.
How is this plant now?
so enjoyed this video. I was wondering if I needed to breakaway the old media. Thanks.
I really need to try one of these orchids. I’ve just been to intimidated to do so. Lol. Where do you get the synthetic tree fern? Would you suggest always repotting these when they are dormant?
I got it from High Desert Orchids, but I'm unsure if they still have it. As for repotting yes, always in or at the end of dormancy. I purposefully wait for new growth to begin though at the tail end of dormancy, so that I can see where the direction of growth for the year is and orient the plant accordingly.
You can also use packing peanuts in place of the epiweb too!
Matthew Polmanter cool, thank you! Ive just never seen that stuff before.
13 like so beautiful orchid plant dear 👍😍do you want to be friend with me please 🙋♀️☺️😍
Hi! I’ve one but smaller. It is set in just sphagnum moss. Could you please give me some information on regards of substrate and kínd of pot? Thanks!!
Where are getting the Galeandras from?
Leptoceras came from an order on Facebook from a growing friend. Baueri came from the now closed(sadly) Clown Alley orchids in Pasadena Texas. The stangeana came from Lousiana Orchid Connection, labeled as G pubicentrum(outdated name)
Matthew Polmanter Thanks!
Lots of growth! I'd love to see you make a carnivorous bog! Did I hear you say slow or stop the water on digbyana to promote blooms?
For glauca is when I mentioned it, but yes! It applies to digbyana too, though I am unsure how similarly. It simulates a drier period in their habitat prior to flowering. Since recording this I have spotted a spike in that glauca sheath!!!
