Wow, that’s interesting to know. I haven’t flown internationally since COVID-19 so I don’t know that gate 8 and 9 have been returned. It’s a good sign, which means international travel is back. It was still a good memory to board a domestic flight by an international gate.

Thank you! Maybe we can meet in Da Nang one day :) Btw, I remembered that on your flight from SGN to HAN and HAN to SGN years ago, you were downgraded to an A321 and an A330. Now, VNA has a service called VNAEXPRESS which allows passengers arriving at the airport early can request switch to an earlier flight at the check-in desk. This service is only available for flights between SGN and HAN. That means if one of the earlier flights is operated by an A350 or a B787, and your flight is operated by an A321, you can switch easily. I'm based in Ho Chi Minh City (SGN). I also flew to the US in the past, but since the start of COVID-19, I haven't travelled internationally. This flight was my last flight out of Vietnam since then. I hope to fly internationally in the future, when I have time

In Vietnam, there are a few domestic routes operated by B787s and A350s, the most common route is between SGN and HAN. They sometimes use a 787 for DAD-SGN, and I was so lucky to get an A350 for this flight.
