so funny I have been infusing elecampane for about two weeks now. It is the most bitter tasting thing I Have ever tasted lol I will tinture it later was testing it out. However, I do treat awful tasting things like needles to giving blood, or medicines It doesn't feel or taste good but it will make you feel better. SO I have been drinking it lol

Plants are amazing. When you rold the story of the Star of Bethlehem just showing up around your house in your time of need was so inspiring. In my thirties I experienced a very bad hormone problem, i don't know what, I lost hair and everything...Nettle starting growing all around my house. I picked it and drank nettle tea, rinsed my hair in it...balanced my hormones ( I also use a flower essence half way thru my journey) and the nettle helped me grow my hair back!

Another consideration to make: do you consume alcohol or not? I don't consume alcohol at all (not even a few drops), so tinctures are a no-go for me. That's why I stick to teas and whatever is fat soluble I infuse in an oil. It sucks, because I'd love to be able to use a tincture if it were alcohol-free, but the apple cider vinegar "tinctures" extract other compounds so it's not a great alternative.

Rose Hip Seed Oil is great for maturing skins. Don’t ask how I know 🤭

On the one hand we've certainly gotten the food and drug regulations here in the US that we have for damn good reason, and in many cases those rules were written in the blood of those poisoned by reckless or greedy corporations. On the other hand, as is the case with anything that tries to put a check on corporate greed, corporate greed counters by pouring corrupt influence into it. So I don't believe any regulation or regulatory agency should be a *complete* absolute, there should *always* be an alternative avenue just in case, so long as said avenue isn't jeopardizing the health and well-being of the unconsenting that is of course. In herbalism's case specifically I feel like any non-profit, non-monetized herbalism between adults should be complete and total free game, and even monetized practices that are more or less local services should only have some basic parameters, basically just keeping the herbalist from trying to diagnose things they aren't qualified to diagnose, or trying to actively discourage someone from modern medicine in favor of their own. Even that should only apply when there's a profit being had or else that'd sound like a pretty clear cut free speech 1st amendment violation to me. Speaking of which as I've dabbled in learning about this stuff I've come to find herbalism is very much a spiritual thing to a lot of people. Surely if indigenous tribes have legal religious rights to use peyote in their practices we can share that tea we brewed from that so-called weed we found encroaching on our garden with our herbalistically like-minded neighbors, no? So why is it that if my poor neighbor verging on eviction and homelessness is struggling with a cold and I find wild grown Ephedra, and make it into a herbal "sudafed" low enough in dose to avoid the serious health complication risks associated with it, I'm still held as legally breaking the law? I'm not making meth with it, I'm not making a profit, store bought ephedrine is so restricted in how much you can buy that my family of chronic allergy sufferers can barely keep a stock for ourselves and the over the counter phenylethrine that's replaced it is literally proven to be nothing but a placebo anyway. But if I find the plant the pharmaceutical was derived from in the wild and procure a medicine out of it to share to an impoverished neighbor in need, my attempt to provide free healthcare would be "illegal" for "safety" reasons... And yet all the doctors and pharmacists sure had no qualms giving my depressed hind an allergy medication with an FDA black box warning label for causing suicidal thoughts without saying a word about those health risks to me. It's moments like that my tinfoil hat starts to come on as I can't shake the feeling I'm running head first into the consequences of that "corrupting influence" I mentioned at the top of the rant.

What do I do daily? I drink lemon balm tea, 2 cups or more. It balances out nervous energy, and calms my soul. Years ago I discovered just how beneficial herbal tea is.

I’m an herbalist and I’m nowhere near any of this knowledge. I’m learning so much on this platform. I just want to say that it would be great if people could easily access clinical herbalist or experienced herbalist in their states for consultations. They are hard to find and perhaps herbrally can gather a list and provide on their site. Thank you
