Be sure you sliders are lubed. My door was stopping half way then reversing. I lubed it up with penetrating oil by simply spraying it in the upper slider and that fixed it. It closed/completed the cycle after that.
Thank you for the video. It was perfect and right to the point. The problem you pointed out with the wiring was also my problem. I repaired the wire and used shrink wrap, put it all back together just as you showed. It Worked! Without your video, I couldn't have done it. Thank you.

I have a problem with my Dodge Grand Caravan 2011 drivers rear passenger sliding door, Its closed and remote won't open it, I can't even open it manually, it's stuck I've tried every angle to opening it, kicked it, punched it, slapped it and tried not to brake anything when pulling or pushing the door and handle from the inside. I need this door opened, I have a bunch of kiddos....please help ....
The Fisherman I fixed it myself after watching a few videos. I removed the cover from the inside of the door. I pulled on the cables that were running to the back of the door and one of those opened the door. I replaced the door lock actuator (I think that’s what it’s called... it’s the electric latch that locks the door when you press the door lock button on door or key fob) put everything back together. It was the hardest thing I have ever done. It took me aprox. 10 hrs to complete. I’m not mechanically inclined I know very little about cars. But I did it! And the best part is that I saved $1200-1600 according to dealer estimate.

My chrysler 2008 used to work a little better was able to close the sliding doors pushing the button and start driving while the doors were closing now its seems that I have wait in parking mode till doors closing all the way can you tell me if this is normal and if it is why before was able to do it while start driving and the doors will close Please let me know Thank you

When I can I plan to (remove battery cables off battery) get the wires free and stick thin needles into each at the farthest point, then use a tester to see if I have a break,just wish I knew what wire to go after that would totally kill the door.
My wife's 2008 dodge Grand caravan,the left sliding door started to act up..it would only open with the key fob but not electrically close,none of the interior door switches to that door would open or close it..then it would work then stop..the motor that latches the door into lock also is not working,it would work on and off,the door would axt wacky sometimes wanted to close while the door was halfway open..NOW the door is dead,it does nothing even the lighted window switch is unlit and the window no longer goes down...The right sliding door is ok..I'm trying to locate if these is a fuse for just the left sliding door to check?..and or should I go directly to the power wire in the harness since the door is now totally dead?

+Phil McQueen looking online I have found details about a recall from 2010 but I've been to the dealer numerous times after 2010 having the van repaired and they've never mentioned any recall for this the only thing they've ever fixed was the key fob ignition..not sure what to do should I try to push the issue

I have previously spliced and obvious break but know I have both doors malfunctioning again. * One door seems to close fine (for now), but upon opening it just pops open and stops (no motor sounds after initial opening. * The other door will almost completely shut just short about 3 inches and the Motor continues to run but the door is stuck in the 3-inch opened position. This same door from a shut position will only open to that 3-inch location and motor runs but no movement of the door. The wires "look" good.

Is there anything i can do to fix it myself? I took out to the dealer service and they could not get it ope, they suggested a new door for a thousand bucks. So we have been doing out the old fashion way with Just the One side.

You just squeeze with you’re thumb fingernail and finger and pull the wire and you’ll feel it broken inside the wire
Mine opens with no issue. It has problems It just sometimes closes you can hear it release but it won’t go close. I replaced the motor already.

What is the purpose of the wiring in this harness on a non-motorized door? Is it just to give a DOOR AJAR indication on the dashboard?
The purpose is turns on the interior light warning light and door lock!

My door is making a grinding noise and hard to open and close...how do I fix that?
Hi. Did you ever find out what it is? My door does not release from the closed position. If I do that manually then it moves fine.

+AurumNonVulgi Well it has now worked for the past year. I think that I recall it being a small wire fracture. Just keep looking is my advice

This just happened to us today on our Routan! Did you ever fix it or figure out the problem?
No, never got it fixed, but from everything that I've read it appears to be the lock actuator.
Lindsay M this doesn't have to do with the lock problem, but does your routan get terrible gas mileage?
Yes, it's terrible! Maybe 13 mpg?!
extremely helpful. I just fixed it. one point: you don't have to remove that pull clip entirely, just pull it out and the chain can drop off.
