K8 in Scotland
United Kingdom
Приєднався 19 вер 2013
I'm a North American living in the UK for 8 years now and I absolutely love it. Scotland is one of the greatest places I've ever lived, and I hope I can show you all the magic there is here.
Find me on Twitch at twitch.tv/whyk8why for some chill streams and watch some photographic preservation and gaming- it's a good time!

How Scottish am I?
So I... did a DNA test. An Ancestry DNA kit, to be exact. Now that there's probably a K8 clone out there, let's find out how Scottish we really are.

A Day in My Life in Glasgow, Scotland
Your Iberian, North African and other Mediterranean 1% DNA is likely connected to Roman (Italic and wider Mediterranean) ancestry through the Roman presence in Britain (1st-5th centuries CE).
If your ancestors were (mainly) Scottish, you were raised culturally Scottish, and you now live in Scotland, I’d say that makes you pretty...well, Scottish...🏴
It’s not Scottish it’s an old Irish tradition
It's a Celts tradition to ward of evil spirits. You'll find a lot of Irish and Scottish traditions over lap as we're closely connected
😊😊😊
I like this park
In Chinatown, we just call it ...food.😂😂😂
I am guessing the north African is related to the Moors. Research the Moors in Europe and it will make sense.
The upside of Turnips is that they last a long time! You can freeze the excess turnips and put it in soups.
You look very Scottish
I am a fourth gernation american and im too scottish american hello from texas yall
What's your favourite part to eat of the Turkey?
I cant deny missing this park alot 💔.
I got my Dad a DNA test because he's adopted for his birthday and his results came back as 74% Scottish so I'm trying to figure out if that's really accurate?
Hope you enjoyed it!!
Tumshie!
Manicure tools work well for carving turnips and small pumpkins/gourds. :-)
BRAVO! I am so glad that you said that as Americans we are ALL immigrants! However, as I learned when I heard a Canadian clerk tell a customer who asked did the shop accept American "why yes since we are American". SHOCK, that's true of everyone from Canada down to the southern tip of South America all of which leaves me feeling very worldly. for myself I've always thought of myself as German-Dutch, Scots-Irish, Etc or a most typical Heinz 57 from the USA. I'm proud of all of it especially the Etc because that means I also belong to the whole planet Earth along with everyone elsel
Awesome footage
I often think about how there are more Irish descendants in America than Ireland. I think we latched onto our roots here in America because MANY of the people who came here were running away from some sort of persecution for their culture (so it was important to retain) or from things like famine which makes sense that they didn't want to give up their culture and was important for them to hold onto it. Over the years that has turned from traditions to a relative "I'm Scottish" or "I'm Irish." Obsession with ancestry and it's meaning is like the MOST American thing. Our culture is just discussing where we hail from several generations back 😂
The most 'Scottish' Chinese dish is 'Min-San-Tah-Tees'! 🤣
You're an Ulter Scot
IT'S Chinese curry 😁
Nice!
Glasgow has good education
This woman never once says she's American. Lots of Americans do this; it's sort of sad, really. That her parents moved back to Scotland and she went with them, doesn't change anything. I bet she doesn't even consider herself American, despite her "dool" citizenship.
Oh yes, now she sanctimoniously lectures us about the Indians and how whites are all descended from immigrants...as if that has anything to do with her DNA test. By the way, if you're American and you tell someone from the UK or Ireland or anywhere else in Europe that you're Irish, Scottish, etc., they'll just shake their heads and chalk you up as another ignorant American.
I'm from Liverpool England my great great grandfather was from Aberdeenshire he was in 78th highlands while he was in Londonderry in 1872 he got married to my great great grandmother when he came out of the highlands in 1879 they moved to Liverpool
WOW!! 😮😮😮
my teacher linked this video to us !
how do you spell "tunshi"? that word for the turnip lanterns? tunshi? tunxi? tumshee? tumshi? tumxi?
It’s not a word I’ve ever seen written down but I’d go for ‘tumshy’ and it’s really just another word for turnip, it’s not specific to the lanterns. In fact it was just the word my Mum used for turnip and carrots mashed together.
Would love to know your most recently updated results :) Mine has gone up and down with the percentages (except for my Irish DNA which only seems to grow more and more - now it's 39% :P) But with the latest update in August I finally got some Scottish DNA (only 11% but still woohoo) which I thought I should have since most of my "Irish" ancestors actually have Scottish surnames. My Scandinavian results (mainly Norwegian at 25% and Swedish at 9%) also went up which makes more sense since two of my great grandparents came over from Norway. I always find this DNA stuff so interesting. Like it's amazing to see how much of my mom's DNA I inherited but my facial features actually look a lot more like my dad XD But oddly enough I have been mistaken for being both Polish and Dutch...two backgrounds that are not in my DNA XD
We used to dook for apples in a bowl of water blindfolded with a fork in our mouths.
K8 they recently updated Ancestry DNA and there is a Scotland category. I am 25%! Please check out and let us know!
If you put cinnamon all around the inside of your turnip they’d smell better
Omg, 1 video and 3 doughnuts 😂
You should date a chinese guy
Aye Chinese takeaway in Scotland is different from Chinese takeaway in England IE London
Never mind those people, I think anyone would feel Scottish in these circumstances. Just know that there's a lot of unionists here who don't like the whole Scottish thing, I'm guessing they're afraid that more of you will come back and we'll vote ourselves out of the UK.
Nice results ua-cam.com/video/x6lOjvY2bMM/v-deo.html here mine !! Greetings from greece
Miss you Katelyn
Ethnically, you are 54% Irish, thats what "Ireland, Scotland, Wales" means - (the Scottish and the Welsh didn't like the irish bit!, so they changed it to "Scots" and "Welsh"....)
Great video mate.
Hey, I might be studying in UofG School of Law for my master this September. Is there anyone that would help me to figure out informations on living conditions, expenses, student life and etc? hehe thank you in advance!
