Thank you - 3 of the 4 Bikes were DR-Z or KLX 400cc. I think all of them had the 3.9 +/- gal tank. We carried 3 liters of spare fuel and really didn't need to tap that supply. With these rough up and down sections, I was getting about 33 mpg. That equals about 130 miles / tank. And thanks for the encouragement.

Of course. The first major issue of getting up north is the fact that Mt Adams is in the way, and much of the land around the mountain is controlled by the Yakama Tribe. It is illegal to cross onto tribal land. We traveled to the west side of the mountain. Travel Wa 141 to Troutlake, at the gas station in Troutlake, stay right onto Mt Adams highway to forest road 23. At highway 12 in Randle, go east past rimrock lake. Stay on highway 12 to Naches, then catch the Naches Wenas Road. One option is to forest road 1500 half way from Packwood to Naches. ( this is the BDR trail.) on this section you can take one leg up, and a separate leg on return. Ellensburg to Vantage on the Vantage Highway. Cross the Columbia River on I 90. Take St route 26 and now you have many optional gravel or secondary roads going north. Head north to George, then highway 281 north to on Overton Road to Sagebrush Flats road then Moses Coulee Rd. Head towards Jameson lake. We were unable to traverse to F road north and instead cut over on 5 road north east. The general idea is to get to the town of Mansfield. Go to Road E Northeast then onto Bridgehill road. Join Hwy 17 to Bridgeport. 17 joins on to Highway 97....blast north to Oroville. You can jump over to Highway 7 on the other side of Okanogan river, but we were running late and stayed on 97. Have fun

I based my definition on the following: A flying boat is a type of fixed-winged seaplane with a hull, allowing it to land on water. It differs from a floatplane in having a fuselage that is purpose-designed for flotation, while floatplanes rely on fuselage-mounted floats for buoyancy. Wikipedia

Flying boats do have landing gear. Seaplanes (Cessna, Piper, DH Beaver) are aircraft with floats replacing the landing gear. The difference between the two is where the water makes contact. Seaplanes can be converted to have straight floats or be amphibious (floats with landing gear). There are special hardware on the fuselage to hoist the plane during this operation. Flying boats (Grumman, Lake, Icon A5) are almost always amphibious and never changes its configuration.

Then you are confusing a flying boat with a seaplane.

Recording on a busy airfield is a challenge. Sometimes wind is the dominating noise. Sometimes people are talking in the background, sometimes you see one plane, but the mic is picking up on an unrelated plane out of shot. In this video I pulled as much of the ambient plane sound into the video as possible. The music is is no extra charge.

The energy of the song and the need for a very fast pace was needed to match a medley with so many clips boiled down to a few minutes of play. The staff and volunteer crew do a fantastic job to pull off this event. The Ford Tri-motor adds depth and richness to the collection; this museum is a true gem to Hood River.

Thank you so much. The Ford Tri-motor is a huge hit and greatly appreciated by all those who visit WAAAM. I tell people they can go to the Smithsonian and see a mothballed Ford on display, or they can come to WAAAM and see a working/flying example of commercial aviation.
