I used to be angry and regretful any time I saw a cute girl but didn't approach. But then I starting hitting the gym and going out to approach women, and what I learned was that I had no reason to feel regret, because in reality, no matter how good of shape you're in, how attractive you are, how outgoing or charismatic you are, if you're living life on "Nightmare" difficulty, it won't matter because 99.9% of girls won't be interested in you anyways. It doesn't matter if you see them checking you out, smiling at you or whatever, it'll go nowhere the vast majority of the time.

I used to approach girls and people all the time. It was fun and social, but it very rarely led to anything with the girls. But that's not why I stopped doing it. I stopped because increasingly over time, I experienced more and more real world consequences. I know most of the people at my grocery store, but one day the manager, who I know, pulls me aside and tells me one of the female employees made a complaint about me. I'm at the gym where I know most of the staff and people there, then one day get pulled into the managers office and get told that they've gotten complaints from girls that I'm "making them feel uncomfortable". Another gym terminates my membership because a girl who I thought was my friend and talked with all the time, complained about me. Keep in mind, I didn't say anything vulgar, rude, or inappropriate to any of them. I didn't ask them out, ask for their number, or anything like that. Basically, the potential reward is far too unlikely while the potential consequence is far too likely. So now, I just refuse to flirt with any girl, even if I really like her. Because even if I think she's giving me IOI's, if I ask her out and am wrong, the next time I go, I'll probably be sitting in the managers office.

Female friends won't call a man a creep just for having a nice conversation with them. Toxic strangers who are single don't give a man a chance to even say hello. Seriously though, for any guys watching this, don't approach girls at the gym. The odds she'll be into you are very slim, and the consequences are too severe and too probable. Even if you don't get kicked out, she'll spread word and soon you'll get ignored by every girl there, even if you're in shape and attractive.
