Just wondering, are these homes near Amazon and Niagara Bottling plant. I use to work in Chester and before i worked at Niagara i didnt know Chester had homes like this.

I lived in shockoe bottom from 2015-2017, it was still a pretty hip place with a few grocery stores, pizza, Japanese, chinese restaurants and bars that were within walkingdistance. We drove past our old complex recently and were surprised that even under new management, the rent was the same, 1100-1500. Downtown mainstreet looks a lot cleaner and prettier. The only downside was the parking.

I remember the days back in 2003/2004 where you could buy a brand new single family home (2,000+ sqf) for 200k. Specifically, I remember advertisements for Ryan homes starting at $150k. Today those homes are $450k + in just 20 years.
Yup. Those were the good old days for sure. Houses are very expensive these days.

Absolutely. In the 20 something years I have been in real estate, it is crazy how much things have changed.
Yep, blame companies and "Flippers" buying properties en masse. Oh and don't forget AirBNB - people buying houses JUST to turn them into AirBNBs. Less properties available, higher costs. If those were changed, you'd see prices go right back to 2016 when rent was $600 a month.
Yeah and now there all going to move here and push us out with high prices.. great

If you live in Midlothian why would you ever get on 288 to go to Short Pump? I relocated from New York to Midlothian 3 years ago. I love where I live unfortunately I work in Short Pump and there are times at rush hour where it takes me 2 hours to get home. If I didn’t work there I would never go to Short Pump. Everything I need is in Midlothian. Except my job.
Rush hour on 288 can take some time. I work in Henrico but live in Midlothian. There is usually a max delay of 30 minutes from my experience but I have found ways around it by getting on at Patterson vs from Broad of I64. It is a pain. No doubt. I agree about Midlothian having everything!

From the first 2 opinions it’s already clear that you are NOT a designer and know very little about design principles.
I am pretty sure I state several times that I am NOT a designer. These are just trends I am reading about. Not sure why you felt compelled to make your comment but everyone is entitled to their opinions.

Glad to know that I have done everything right so far, and am probably ahead of the game. As a buyer of a new construction home from out of state, I find not being there so frustrating to see the progress. It is difficult to wait to hear if the projected closing date will be set in stone, especially when thinking about finding home insurance, setting up an inspection from a 3rd party, or even when purchasing furniture and setting a delivery date. Thankfully, everything I have looked into can have the date moved if necessary. It is definitely a process that is more difficult for the impatient planner… it’s me, I’m the impatient mega planner! Great video, Scott… very informative!
