Radinn Electric Jetboard | My 3rd season review
This is my 3rd season as a Radinn Jetboard owner and I made this video to share my user experience. I have been waiting all winter to get back on the sea with the board. Its a fantastic feeling to fly on the water, much different from a jetski or a boat. I just love this product. Easy to ride, easy to get on the ocean and easy to own. Charging is really the only maintenance.
Thanks for all the nice comments on my previous videoes. I am happy to answer any questions you may have.

    Great videos - Im a longboard surfer based in SE England so very little waves w/out a long drive. If I may ask, how does the Radinn perform in choppy waters?

      For choppy conditions I would suggest the Radinn Freeride or the Carve if you what to be able to be a bit more aggressive. Both come with three keels that cuts into the waves.

    I just tested out a board and only got 15 minutes or so of ride time on a standard battery. The dealer said it was because the battery cells had not been "balanced" which he said could be done in the phone app. Is this accurate?

    • @jonmrk6831
      @jonmrk6831 2 роки тому

      Yes this is accurate. The battery needs to be optimized from time to time. I do it about every month. Its as easy as tapping optimize on your phone next time you are charging. The downside is that it will take a long time to perform, but it works. I have an old ipad next to my charging station open up the app and hit «optimize battery» once I have plugged in the battery. The reason behind this as I have been told from customer support is that the battery is only as strong as the weakest cell. Just like a football team. The optimating levels out the voltage in some way. The battery will come back to normal performance level is my experience. I hope this helps. Otherwise contact customer support. They are very helpful.

      Its expensive but its a lot of technology going into this board. I am sure the pricing will come down over time. Personally I would much rather own this board than owning a jetski or a boat which I need to handle, transport, maintain and pay for storage. The board is just «plug and play» if you see the difference. I could wait for the board to become cheaper but I will become older. I’d rather play now in my early 50’s while I can if you know what I mean. I dont know your age but I hope you will find the budget for buying one at some time in your life. Its a lot of fun.

    How much ride time to get from your boards Jon? I only get max 30 minutes (extended battery pack) of ride time with an average speed of 25-28 km/t. This seems way off from the the advertised 45 min. Especially since I'm not going full throttle.

    Hi Jon. Great reviews and videos you've done. Thanks, and congratulations. I've looked at many different makes on-line, and the Radinn is my favorite, but like others here, I really can't afford one. There are many do-it-yourself videos, too, so I'd like to try a do-it-yourself, and model it on the Radinn. Would you be able to tell me any specifications, such as the battery voltage, diameter of the impeller jet, or anything like that ? Thanks, in advance, and enjoy !

    • @jonmrk6831
      @jonmrk6831 2 роки тому

      DIY won’t get you the same performance and feeling of the Radinn. To get it up to standards you might end up paying more and spending a lot of time. In stead of trying to build a replica why don’t you look for a used board? There might be some used boards for sale out there?

    • @rickc4336
      @rickc4336 2 роки тому

      Hi Jon, thanks for your quick reply. I've tried looking for used Radinn boards, but I can't find one at all in my country (Canada), and haven't heard of anyone buying a new one here yet. Buying a new one (Freeride base model), with tax and shipping would cost me the equivalent of about 10,700 EUR. There are several do-it-yourself boards that would be "good enough" for me, and are reported to cost about 1/3 of a Radinn board. I simply wanted to start with the Radinn specs as my goal, knowing I'll fall short, but it should still be good enough. There's one DIY board that seems to exceed the performance of the Radinn, here: ua-cam.com/video/BuYz4YYcX30/v-deo.html The most common DIY mistake seems to be that the first attempts try to make it with cheap or undersized components, and then they have to spend even more money to upsize or replace burned out components. By learning what Radinn uses, I'm hoping to size the jet and batteries properly the first time. So, is that a "no" to telling us here, some of the Radinn specifications ? Thanks.
