Beautiful and helpful homily Thanks and Glory be to God for all things!
🔥 thank you father
Thank you Father Paul for this message 😊
What about reading the bible in sermons
"Therefore, do not be cast down, I beseech you. For there is only one thing, Olympia, to fear, only one real temptation, and that is sin. This is the refrain that I keep chanting to you ceaselessly. For everything else is ultimately a fable - whether you speak of plots, or enmities, or deceptions, or slanders, or abuses, or accusations, or confiscations, or banishments, or sharpened swords, or high seas, or war engulfing the entire world. Whichever of these you point to, they are transitory and perishable, and they only affect mortal bodies; they cannot in any way injure the watchful soul. This is why, wishing to express the paltriness of both the good and the bad things of this present life, the blessed Paul stated the matter in one phrase, saying, 'For the things that are seen are transient' (2 Cor. 4:18).” From Letter 7, Saint John Chrysostom's Letters to Saint Olympia.
please please dont stop these. they are helpful beyond words can describe
Thank you so much for this message. I am new to orthodoxy. What modern father would you recommend I start reading first?
Antiochian Orthodox from Australia. Love your work Fr Paul 🙏☦️
“Either the soul or the body will become the master and the other the slave”
To me the cross resembles a sword. I don't know why, but, Jesus is telling me Christianity is a cult.
This was incredibly eye opening. Thank you Father, God bless you and your family!
Glory to God, i really needed this today
Glory to God☦
Wonderful father thank you
Wow this is so good
Love the Star Trek reference. I loved the new series having a sickness they couldn’t heal. Also. How ironic for a tv show that’s all about knowing species and them not knowing fully about their own species
So helpful, thank you!
THANK YOU So Much for this... So Beneficial, So Encouraging, So Reassuring, God has not abandoned me. From the Depths of my Soul ... Thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you. Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on me, a sinner.
🙏☦️
Needed this thank God and thank you!
Amen!
I love Orthodoxy because I can attend a liturgy and hear the readings then get recommended a sermon about it on the same day
🥴
Thank you .
I’ll watch it, because I’ll watch anything before I judge it. However, I’m not a negative person - you just perceive me that way, because you misunderstand why I say certain things, and it is partly a generational difference.
Lol didnt happen
Dear father when you were gone, fr jason gave two amazing homilies, i wish they were on here also so i could recall them ! God made sure one of the homilies was in his expertise about military concerning the centurion coming to jesus, which was the gospel reading that day. Bless, and remember me in your prayers and my wife -catechumen max ☦️❤️
That baby is giving me anxiety
I feel so weak and cowardly compared to this Saint! Such a long way to go!
The Divine Liturgy is so loving. I have never walked out of service regretting it. I feel whole again after the service. Divinity and Humanity re-experiencing. Wow. I never looked at it that way, Father. Thank you 🙏 I continue to be humbled everyday.
Amen Father ❤🙏❤️. Couldn’t have agreed more
Elizabeth, I am a father of two children your age, so I will offer to you what I would say to them. First - that you have found Christ to be the center of your life at your young age is the absolute most important thing. He will never let you go, never abandon you, will guide you and protect you and love you as though you are the only person in the whole world. He will leave the 99 sheep to come and find the one, you, if you are lost. Always remember that. Second - it is a part of growing up that we begin to learn that the world is a scary place. It is OK for you to feel scared. It is normal, natural, and understandable! But when our fears begin to take over and overwhelm us, we must do things to make them diminish. Remaining close to God in prayer, spending time in the company of others, and having someone you trust to talk to will all help you. I would guess that your parents are there for you, or maybe a favorite aunt or uncle or a teacher at school, perhaps? Share your feelings with an adult you trust and they will help you. Third, and last. In addition to prayer, the one thing that will help us the most in life, particularly when we are scared and anxious. is to live in the Present Moment. We can worry so much about the future that we miss the immediate blessings happening right now. We can miss an opportunity to enjoy the blessings and happiness of today, with people whose company we enjoy, given freely to us every morning by the grace of God. Got himself asks us to stay in the present - remember in the Gospel how He instruct us never to look behind us at what was; and not to worry about tomorrow. He wants us to live here in the present. So, each morning, make sure that you have some time on your schedule to spend in the company of people you love. Texting and emailing and even a phone call can deceive us- there is no replacement for being in the physical presence of another human. God created us to be together, so make sure each and every day you spend meaningful time with family or friends. Also, every day, spend time working on something you love. Maybe it’s a hobby, art, a sport or something physical, building or making something, and so on. God gives us unique talents and wants us to enjoy them! Try your hand in numerous projects and interests- He will help you! He wants you to be happy! Remember what the Catholic Saint Irenaeus said: “ The glory of God is in someone who is fully alive.” I will say a special prayer for you today that you will find new and good friends, and that you will be able to enjoy each day for the many blessings they contain, and that your anxiety and fears will go away, and I have no doubt that they will. God Bless you Elizabeth, be not afraid. He is with you always.
tbf it's not just Orthodox who are often toxic online. Most Christians in general and most other identity groups or "communities" are toxic online.
Always wonderful hearing the young ones in the congregation! Signs of a growing parish.
Last Sunday was the third Sunday since my 9 and 10 year old children were baptized and my wife was received into the Church by chrismation. During the communion prayers I stepped out into the narthex to light one of their baptismal candles to light the others with while doing my best to recite the prayer from memory. When I came back to my family, I lit their candles with them and noticed a bright white, flat, rectangular light on the alter. I thought someone placed an LED strip there or something. It was similar to the light a phone flashlight gives off only with the whiteness of the corona during a total solar eclipse. I thought it would be really weird for someone to leave electronics on the altar, but while I was praying and staring at this light, which didn't hurt to look at or leave any afterimage, the deacon stepped in front of it for several moments. When he stepped away the light was gone but I could see the chalice clearly sitting where the light had been with a red cloth covering it. Realizing now what I had witnessed (no one else seemed to notice) I started looking for explanations. Was it a reflection? I don't think the base of the chalice is that reflective. And there are no bright lights inside the church. The base of the chalice is also rounded and engraved. "Was it a demonic deception?", I thought. But I don't think any demon would be allowed to enter the church or could ever be able to withstand being so near to Christ. Then I began to accept this as a miracle. And I realized, the Eucharist is a miracle every single time. Why was this made visible to me and not my family or anyone standing near us? I believe it is because my faith is weak. I'm naturally very skeptical. God revealed this to me to help my unbelief. I still haven't been able to speak to my priest about this. And I've only spoken to my children about it. I'm not sure this is something I'm allowed to share. Doxa to Theo. Thank you for sharing this sermon. It appeared randomly on my recommendations and I felt conpelled to listen. I no longer believe in coincidences. God is amazing. Glory to God. ☦️
More people need to hear this.
Can anyone confirm Fr Heers has a bishop?
What does that have to do with this video? His Bishop is Bishop Luke of Jordanville.
@@NoeticInsight Because everyone knows he didn’t have affiliation with ROCOR Or Constantinople for awhile. So, if Fr Paul and Fr Josiah and other clergy are affiliating and supporting I found it questionable and want to know if anyone knows for certain. This is the duty of every person who claims to be Orthodox and especially with children. We don’t blindly trust clergy or bishops. They have rules to follow. So, that’s what it has to do with it.
@@mythologicalmyth He was always with Bishop Luke. He literally teaches at Jordanville seminary, he has this whole time during this whole ordeal. I disagree with Fr. Peter on a few things, I believe he can be far too much of a Rigorist on a few matters. But to say he didn’t have affiliation with ROCOR “for a while” is nonsense and slander. Don’t believe all the nonsense people tried to spew about him online. He’s been with Bishop Luke at Jordanville Seminary the whole time.
@@NoeticInsight He does not teach there. The canonical assembly letter regarding Heers disagrees with you. You calling him a 'RIgorist' is slander. What's nonsense is your rigorist rules for slander dont apply to you. You say Im slandering because he actually has been denied by ROCOR and the Greek. So, you were no help. You have emotional statements with no proof. Thats all anyone has about him, emotions. On I go waiting to hear if he has canonicity or not. I wont lose sleep.I was and am only curious. Ciao now!
@@NoeticInsight As for HTMJ I cant get an answer if he is faculty or not or just an occasional presenter. Doesnt matter to me. What matters is that someone claims him or he is not canonical priest; and yes, that is a matter to me. As for believing nonsense, why should I believe you? You accused hi of being "far too much of a Rigorist..." Really sounds like you value your opinion over the Holy Orthodox Canon. Sounds a bit Protestantesque. Alright then. You really dont know and have no proof. Im done. Thanks for the replies.
Thank you Father Paul. Attention and dedication. It is work. Lord have mercy on me
I'm 15 years old and ive recently come to Orthodox Christianity from Anglicanism. I'm greatly struggling with anxiety about politics, war, climate change, and, most of all, the End Times. I have insufferable anxiety about being martyred and being killed by the antichrist. I fear that my adult life will never be met with a husband, family, and a lovely life, but I will instead fall away from the faith and go to Hell. If anyone has any advice, I'd really appreciate it. I struggle with finding people to talk to, as friends my age don't care about God. God bless, and thank you.
Wow I’m 18 and I’m going through the same thing as you are I have been a orthodox Christian for a bit now and I can honestly say I haven’t seen much but I have felt the lord Jesus strongly these past few days Elizabeth I understand completely what your going through and yes it’s very very hard to grasp at times like these but one thing I will tell you and that thing is to pray, pray to God tell him what’s on your mind be honest with not only yourself but with God;after all he is God he knows what’s on your mind before you open your mouth. I’ve been praying a lot lately and let me tell you I have seen results if you accept Jesus as your Lord and saviour and you believe in God with all that you have in you there’s nothing that can hurt you from that moment on because you are Gods child. I pray that the Father Son and Holy Spirit bless you in all that your going through God bless and fear not.☦️
Many of the “end times prophecies” came to pass, most around 70AD. Many of the end times theories and rapture theories were created by Protestants who have done a terrible job re-interpreting the scriptures, believing they were written for right now. Not the case. I highly encourage you to speak with your priest regarding the book of the apocalypse, and watch some of Jay Dyer’s content on it.
Hey Elizabeth, here's a bit of advice: tell God your fears. Get down, take a few deep breaths, tell the Lord EXACTLY what you're feeling and thinking, let it all out, have no shame because Christ our God LOVES YOU more than you could comprehend. All eternity will not be enough for us to understand the depth of Jesus' love for us! So let it all out, He can take it. He already knows, but you need to tell him so that once you have that off your chest you can start receiving His aid. Tell Him what bothers you and ask for His help, according to your own heart. Then, let it be. Do not look for supernatural signs (those are deception), do not look to see and probe just how God is helping you, just let it be. When you have your worrying thoughts, say "Jesus, please do with them as you please, I trust in you." Don't try to make the thoughts go away, just focus your mind on something else, something at hand, something useful (something for someone you love). And things will get better. But you have to trust Him! God bless you and strengthen you! With love, D
