Long Yorahome sign Using Tiling
In this video I demonstrate the design and carve process for an oversize workpiece. This sign was created for the Yorahome showroom in Ohio and was a challenge as the size exceeded the limits of the machine.

How to Build a Porch Swing
Переглядів 60 тис.3 роки тому
Thanks for joining me today, in this project we will build a sassafrass porch swing based on plans I found at www.construct101.com/porch-swing-plans/. Sassafras is a great material for outdoor furniture and when paired with Total Boat's Halcyon Clear finish will last for many years. Well explained very thorough 👍
Can't watch due to the background music.
I'm ready to purchase the CNC router -- a beginner hobbyist -- torn between the PROVerXL 6050 Plus and Yorahome Silverback. Which would you strongly recommend? I had purchased a laser cutter in the past and could never get it to work properly with the help of even an Electrical Engineer a few times -- so Lost about $2000 on that. Really want to make the right decision this time, and the CNC router seems to be the best avenue for me, since my work shop is not heated.
I have had both a genmitsu unit and the yorahome. I would choose the yorahome every time!
Thanks for the video. Do you have a machine in Melbourne Australia, that I could see a demonstration before I buy
Nice build.
do you have the design in pdf or other ?
Also looking for a review of the silverback. Your videos are really good. Keep up the good work and thanks for the fence idea. That will make tiling much easier.
Great video, why didn't you use the router table to round the edges of the seat slats?
That's a great question. I do now but at the time the router I had in the table was difficult to change bits in.
Have you had any issues with your 6060 not cutting correctly? I have yet to have a complete project cut correctly. I'm searching for anyone that can help me understand why this machine isn't working.
I haven't had any issues with it. Check out the fb group or give a call to support
If anyone is looking for the aluminum spoil board for the yorahome silverback 6060. Let me know. I got a brand new one. Per the comoany policy of 30%restock fee and i have to pay shipping i wont even get half my money back. So aski g 170 and i will ship
I'm guessing you don't have it anymore :)
Hey. Ours doesn’t want to connect. Anyway you can help please?
Was this carve completed using the pro version??????
So I built your swing, I used the Construct101 plans. I just used a tape measure and dreew the dimensions on the board freehand and then used that board as a template for the others. It went together very good, they are very good plans. I should have followed your lead in finish though I think. I used Varathane Spar Urethane and oh how I hate that stuff now. It was very hard to put on and it looks good but it is a long way from perfect. It has left dull and glossy streaks all over it. Other than that man this thing is really nice. I used Western Red Cedar for the wood. Even with the streakyness it is beautiful.
That's awesome! Spar urethane is definitely hard to deal with. Check out general finishes exterior 405 also. Its pretty easy to work with and soap and water cleanup
I bought a set of plans was wondering if you sell the patterns for arm rest, bench back and bench seat supports thanks
I do not, sorry.
Hi There, I just ordered myself the 1000x1000 Silverback CNC. I’ve been struggling to find reviews of this product other than on the YoraHome website reviews. Do you have an honest review of the product versus the Shapeoko? I want to make sure I’m not missing anything compared to the Shapeoko before I set the beast up. Thank you!
Enjoyed your video. Just put our Silverback together and found your video very helpful in doing so. Anxious to get started.
I'd love to know who copied who - YoraHome or Sainsmart, because the two machines are virtually identical, right down to the control box, switches and sockets. The shape of all the various brackets and set up of the extrusions. I mean, I'm a big fan of convergent evolution, but...yeah nah. Someone ripped someone else off here.
It's not that they ripped each other off its that there are only a couple manufacturers and they are set on the same designs. The Silverback does have quite a few design differences though like the lead screws on the outside and better connections on the cables.
You didn't show the support bar assembly for the MDF bed..
There was no support bar when this video was filmed.
Wouldn't you need to probe the tools with each tool change?
Good evening. Hoping you can help me. Just got my silverback 6060 assembled and I’m having trouble getting it connected in easel. I followed your video but it hangs up on the screen saying “connecting to other”. Thanks in advance.
Did you ever get it figured out?
Loved this video. I’m trying to learn as much as I can before I purchase the 6060. You explain the steps so well. Thanks 😊 do you have a video in cutting all the way through?
You got link for the 1/4 collet .?
What size are the lead screws, T8 or T10?
How long did it take to receive I ordered one and was supposed to ship 1 week ago and still haven’t shipped yet
Not long, currently they are waiting on their shipment to arrive at the warehouse. They have been impacted by all of the shipping delays.
Can you use Carbide create from shapeoko to do your design work and can it run yorahome Silverback
You can do the design work there. I'm not positive if it will run the machine.
How much real time for the realization of this example?
It took about an hour.
I ordered one of these CNC routers. I need to build a workbench for it. Can you tell me the size of your bench??
The current bench I'm running is 4'x8'
Man, it just seems like all those other companies could have made it this simple. Great video. Can't wait to see it carve.
This is super simple compared to many brands on the market today.
This machine is definitely plagued with lack of rigidity, flex in the bed, flex on the axis, etc.
How long did this actually take in real time?
About 20 minutes.
How would you compare it to an X-Carve or LongMill? I noticed the cutting area of the Silverback is 24" compared with ~32" on the other CNCs. Also, how are you finding the power of the 400W Spindle when using larger bits? It seems a little underpowered compared with what's normally used on this size CNC
I think it is more stout than the xcarve and its better set up than the longmill. The 400w spindle had enough power but was definitely the limiting factor. I upgraded to the makita router with the supplied mount early on. The size hasn't been an issue yet but I will be upgrading to the 1000x1000 sooner than later.
Awesome video!
Well done! Asking for tools for Christmas.
Good video. Looks like a nice cnc. How is the sag in the middle of the two MDF boards? If I wanted to add an an additional extension to the middle of the front and back rails what size extrusion rails do I need?
Hi, the extension kit is made by YoraHome so you could buy it directly from them. I put a piece of wood under the bed from left to right because there is a decent sag.
I hate vids with REALLY LOUD intro music and then REALLY LOW video Volume. Or worse is low music volume then a REALLY LOUD presenter... No down vote this time since the bid is good, but please try to balance these...
I will sure try to enhance your listening experience in the future.
I think you complain too much in your demanding demeanor. Maybe we should all appreciate the fact this man put this video together for us all to enjoy! What I find hilarious though is that the maker of this video does not realize that his carving is very similar to Nazi symbolism that was created in the 30's for the Nazi Reich. But, he can carve whatever the hell he wants too and I thank him for his time and I enjoyed it. I enjoy whatever he did and that includes the sound!
@@iwannaapple7190 you do know that that is the US Marine corps emblem right?
@@richardglowacki2767 I know now! Does that count? 35 years ago I was in the Army. I guess it has been a long time but I still say that looks exactly like Nazi symbolism because Hitler used it. Wouldn't take me long to find it again. I mean no offense to our marine vets but its not only similar its about 98% exact. I find that strange that its so similar????
@@iwannaapple7190 98% exact? 😆 🤣 😂
Great demo on the assembly
Again THANKS for the great DETAILED instructions
Thanks for the Demo, very detailed and informative
That’s amazing!!
Thank you so much for instructions!! I’m looking to make Santa chairs. A little nervous because I have not used technology like this. Will it do 3D?
Absolutely, It will definitely do 3D. Ill be doing a video in the next week or so with a 3D carve(really 2.5D)
Would you suggest blue locktite be applied to the screws to prevent loosening?
I havent seen any issues yet with just the spring washers. But, it never hurts to have that extra layer of protection.
Woodglut is nice for that.
Do you share your template?
Hi, the template plans are available at the link in the description. It give you a grid layout that you can duplicate on a piece of plywood. Then just follow the lines!
Wow so proud of you! This is a great video and a beautiful swing! ❤️
