Their old employer had his attorney buddy call and threaten to sue them until _Kingdom Come_ if they didn't return to work. Their new employer was the biggest law firm in two counties. The old company closed down before the end of the year. I miss teaching.

I didnt learn this lesson until the near the end of my career . If you become virtually irreplacable then, they wont even let you move to a new job. I tried to lateral transfer to a different job i was more than qualified for because of burn out from doing a job that three people should do and was told "you're too valuable where you are". Thats when the walls closed in and all the stuff i fixed of over the previous nine years started to look like a prison, instead of a house. I left within three months.

My daughter is going through something similar now 😡 they made her boss redundant. My daughter is running their HR department by herself but they have offered her nothing 😡😡
