I love all horses, but my heart horses are my Mustangs!! They seem to develop a deep bond with their owners if they are treated with respect and consistency. These videos will be a diary of my horsemanship journey with my mustangs. My interests are trail riding, extreme cowboy racing, ranch riding. I dabble with Liberty and love teaching my horses to do obstacle work. I grew up with horses but then went many years without horses. I developed a love of the mustang and currently own 3 mustangs, Flywheel, Prize and Rose Dunn. #mustangs #wildhorses #extremecowboyracing #horsemanship

Farrier Day for the Mustangs - Barefoot Trimming

Flywheel, Prize and Rose Dunn get their feet trimmed. They are on a 4 week Barefoot trim schedule. I believe in keeping to this cycle so that they don’t have dramatic changes to their feet. I was just gonna ask if Whisper was gated right before you said her breed. lol A tip to not loose your drone again. Glue an AirPod onto it so can always find it with your phone. We learned that the hard way when we were using ours to check on the cattle. lol I showed your vid to my hubby and I asked him what about this vid reminds you of us? He said “well it appears her husband can’t ride well either”. 😅❤ We laughed and he reminded me of when we bought him his horse he asked what kind of horse are we gonna get me? I said “a husband proof horse!” 😂 ❤

@@SueHolmes-m2c they were certainly happy. After 10 days of stalling at the EXCA World show, the first thing I did when arriving home was let them out to their pasture. They deserved that freedom.

@@BellyChartiershe is super sweet and super pretty! I haven’t started her under saddle yet due to she is only 14.1 with smaller bone structure so giving her more time to mature physically. I’m planning getting her to my trainer soon to get her trained.

It hit us too but I was out of town while it happened so i missed it but it was bad damage when we got back
That’s awful. We were blessed to not have more than a couple trees down in areas that didn’t affect fencing or buildings. Lots of people had really bad damages.

good horsemanship. taking it slow and rewarding the horse. we need to demoralize just getting on a horse and letting them “buck it out” that’s how you get a coldback horse who only responds out of fear.

This was the goal and was achieved with Dales calm confident demeanor and yes he was amazing horsemanship skills that I learn from on a regular basis.

I love it when this is what a first ride looks like. No stress on the horse 😁. I do have a quick question: whats the point of using a bunch of tack for a first ride? Sorry if I sound dumb but I ride English and we normally start with just a simple bridle and a saddle (saddle pad too ofc)
@@Mossy_HH people use different types of equipment. My trainer had gotten her used to carrying a snaffle bit, but he also had the bosalita with mecate reins as the main reins. If she did anything that needed him to take control then the pressure would have mostly been from the bosalita and not so much the snaffle. As far as the rest of the tack… she’s a western horse and why not get them used to everything from the beginning? Thank you for the question ! I love it! I’m sure lots of people wonder the same thing.

Thank you! She is amazing. She Loves trail riding and we have competed in one Extreme Cowboy Race together! She did amazing! She was in a cowboy race earlier in the year with Dale (the trainer) and did very well then also.

@lisacoffeymustangs39 I watch another channel called The Clever Cowgirl and someone accused her of putting extensions in her horses tails for her videos. She laughed and said it's good nutrition and it was an odd accusation to make.

Did you train your mustangs yourself, or send them to a trainer?
@@albatraozgirl Flywheel came from a trainer in a makeover. So he was started by a trainer. Prize will go to my trainer for saddle starting but I’ve done all the gentling, ground work and everything up to backing her. Rose was gentled by myself and I had my trainer do the saddle starting and first 60 days. I do get weekly lessons on training and am learning a lot on how to train them. You know every interaction you are training them, good or bad.
