A Series on beginner build in Total War: Warhammer 3. In this series we will cover one faction at a time and talk about how you can build for this faction. We will aim to create together one build that is good against a lot of different factions, and that should be manageable for a beginner to use to help you win against other beginners/intermediate players. These builds can then be later modified as you learn more about the game and the faction.
Let me know about any questions you have on the builds or the tactics needed to play them!

The Most Multiplayer Patch of Warhammer 3
Hey Hippo really like your video brother it helps me a lot when i build army thank you may i ask you about your camera ?? Is it a little bit m ore far or is this my idea?
It’s called debug camera. Look it up
Yes the debug camera is in settings in the %appdata% folder. It can be tricky to change so definitely look at a guide if you're interested!
Nice videos bro and good info !, any chance we could get game audio in the video? Thanks alot hitman
I will try to turn it up more next time! I usually play without much sound because I find it distracting. I might also prefer to put lofi on or something instead of game sounds, but don't know how dmca works with youtube
@@HitmanHippo No worries if not dude! whatever works for you!, keep the videos up! enjoy watching domination matches!
The weird glitch out with the debug camera when you click a reinforcement point was so distracting- mine was full zooming in on th point before going back out again, Is there another setting you can change or do you have a technique that minimises the effect??
I guess it's somethign you get used to, but probably helps if the camera is close to the summon point you click on so you aren't pulled so far. Unfortunately I don't know of any fixes but maybe a clever modder could fix it
Thanks for reviewing my game at the end! Got a lot of great feedback 👊🏽
Awesome glad to hear! The game was a good one to watch, love the way you used the repeater crossbows!
that’s zhao not miao
So thankful for this, for the builds and you put your money where your mouth is and taking the builds out on the field. Have had a lot of fun with the beastman today. Well done sir.
Awesome glad to hear you've enjoyed trying the BM! Yeah besides a few weaker ones, I think the majority of the builds are playable in many match ups. Even my two games against pretty experienced players in this stream were very close, going to show that builds sometimes matter less than execution.
Interesting how dark elves and high elves got basically the same list.
A good point! Funny enough too that the builds for HE and DE were sourced from different expert players. So in many ways it says a lot about the factions!
Will try it out now, thx for the build.
Any chance of a leaving beginner stage guide? If that makes sense.
Yes I think that will be one of the soonish videos I make. But to clarify, you mean an intro tutorial to domination?
@ yes, a video to kind of follow up on your beginner build video. And see the builds be put into use. I have some buddies that really were able to take in a lot of info from your build videos.
@@gaming_teleport2640 Will be, and check out the recent stream on me playing beginner builds if you're interested in that kind of thing!
YES YES many thanks
Was thinking about you while making it, hope it helps!
How do you see the additional info below each unit? Mod? Or a setting I can't find.
Hold spacebar and you can put the lock on those things. I think that's what you're referring to! Otherwise are you talking about the info card in battles? That one you can turn on with the "i" key
The ROR hellcannon is also way more accurate than the stock ver by virtue of being rank 9 (like all ROR)
Very true! Way more accurate and basically a homing missile I think
Right miffed I didn’t get to catch this live, work was a real shiteshow Kudos on the new gig btw
Thanks and hope it clears up for you!
Fantastically helpful video, thank you.
Awesome, glad to hear you found it useful :D
Would love to see some tzeentch play
Tzeentch is one of my favorite factions! I'll get back to around playing them sooner or later. I have the idea for a "Tzeentch build roulette" stream at some point where I try to bring different thematic builds. Let's see when I can get around to it!
Great stuff! What matchups do you think vampire counts are strong/weak against?
VCs are an extremely map-dependent due to being slow and blobby. Some matchups can completely shift depending on the size of the map, like vs Slaanesh or Beastmen. That being said, there are some generally bad matchups, regardless of map - Dwarfs, Daemons of Chaos, Tzeentch, Wood Elves, Tomb Kings and Lizardmen. DoC and TZ mainly win because of their air force and Changebringers, WE win because of overwhelming shooting, lord sniping and mobility, DW win because they are DW. TK and LM are also up there since VC can struggle dealing with their shooting + monsters + mobility. I would also avoid Khorne as of the new DLC since their new infantry is really strong and can grind really well. All of that aside, VC have a relatively good chance against all other factions, in my opinion at least.

I'll second what Chimbambu says, usually things that can shoot you with strong shooting do well into VC, or factions with a lot of fire damage. That said, a really strong Vc player can win almost any match up, especially if the map is favorable! On the other hand, the map-meta has recently stopped favoring slow blobbing factions like Vampires, so these days they're looking a lot weaker then they used to.
Good job, please we need more. Thank you
Went through your other guides, big thanks if youcan BM next, you’ve actually covered most of the other factions I’m interested in
Will do!
@ ty ty, these have been quite helpful
YES! HE'S BACK!
The plague father approve 👍
yes yes, many thanks. skaven next pls pls
Skaven has been covered! Check out the older videos!
@ noice, just started turning up, will check
All your videos are awesome . For better viewership you can use keywords like #totalwar #warhammerfantasy #warhammer #rts #multiplayer #domination and in the title of the video always include the words Multiplayer or Domination or both. Also have you seen this video "ULTIMATE Army Build Guide - (Warhammer Total War 2)" by Felkon? Can you do something similar for Total War: Warhammer III? Instead of one long video, you could break it down into smaller, faction-specific videos, where you will give builds against every single opponent for both Domination and Conquest/Land Battles. Thank you a lot for your hard work, you made me come back to multiplayer battles after a very long time. Also happy new Year !
Thanks for the tips! I actually haven't seen Felkon's video, I'll check it out! And as for keywords I never know how useful they are ha.
Oh and about the keywords, I'm trying them out as tags on my most recent video. UA-cam claims they only play a small role in showing the videos, but who knows, worth a shot. Tags are hidden from viewers I think but not totally sure. And looking into the felkon vid now!
Hiya bud! Thank you very much for these builds very useful as a budding beginner! Just as some feedback I do feel like there could be a little bit more structure around how you go through these guides. Happy to discuss via discord if you wish! Again though thank you very much for the hard work!
Thanks for the tip! I'll probably put more structure into future videos! Will likely be posting these videos less frequently but aiming for higher quality.
I love Tomb Kings and this was another great/informative video but it does have a pretty egregious error...Your banner choice is sub par. Gotta go with Exiles of Nehek or Deserters of Khatep.
Oh no!!!! Thanks for pointing this out, I agree, big mistake on my part :D
You should put in the title that those are multiplayer builds
Yes probably! Will add for the remaining ones and maybe retroactively
Another very informative video. Keep up the great work!
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it!
Juicy biz here Khorne is feeling so much better and more varied now compared with just Valkia in every MU and Wrathmongers might actually be the best unit in the DLC pound for pound they're actually wild AF. Love the Bloodspeaker as well very under explored up to now I think.
Love the faction post dlc! So many fun tools to explore! This video was my best shot at it, but I think a lot of things are pretty unexplored rn
Didn't watch the live video, but the fact that you spent 4 hours testing this faction is impressive. Thanks for this!
Thanks Noble, appreciate you saying that! Wanted to come up with some fresh recommendations and had to try things competitively to know if things were viable!
What about Grimgor in IE?
I like Grimgor personally, but he's so slow he's hard to make a fight matter. I'd probably only bring him on a very small map where he can fight on a point all game.
So, what was the loadout to get the lord to 2k flat? Also, how would you change the army if you took one of the big lords?
Thanks for asking, I had put the lord on the 400 chariot, with soul siphon, locus of grace, portaglyph, and pavane. As opposed to the 600 chariot without loucs of grace. If starting with a big lord, I'd suggest taking the angels of decay into the reinforcements, then maybe dropping the blue horror and the fiend unit.
Please do builds for Khorne too especially with the new units. Khorne army composition is something i've always struggled with thanks.
I just put out the video for Khorne, take a look!
Thanks for all your videos, dude. Been trying to get into MP a bit, and I've watched a lot of your videos and using your builds as pre-sets to experiment. Saves a lot of stress instead of trying to pick units before the game starts. Keep it up :)!
Awesome to hear it, that was the goal! Hoping to make it that much easier to try out multiplayer to get new players interested :D
Oooh. Im looking forward to trying this out. I've been playing some practice matches vs AI using your builds to get comfortable with the micro. Thanks again! For the next one... Ogres M'lord?
Ogres soon! We'll have to see if I get to them before vacation!
Brilliant! Thank you for doing these, it's great to have an experienced players insight into the thought process behind this game mode - especially liked the practical demo. we need more content on multiplayer speaking as someone who really enjoys it but is still a bit nervous about entering a tourney haha
Awesome, glad you like it! And for sure it's intimidating to enter tournaments. I suppose though if you go into them with an open mind and learn from your mistakes, it won't be time wasted!
What would you say is the difference between DoC and WoC? They feel pretty similar, and i would like to know why to pick one over the other.
WoC I think excels at armour and SE squads, where DoC is more high-dps skirmish and strong lords. WoC is more likely to go for a healing build these days. Will have to think about a WoC roster after some of the recent changes.
Dude, yes!!! I've been wanting to play wood elves, but every time I go to make a build, it always feels weak. Great stuff. Any reason for going fire archers over starfire?
Fire archers are starfire shafts! And I'm bringing them because of their AP missiles for relatively cheap. So Swiftshivershards for unarmoured dps (and they trade ok into armour too if unshielded) and the starfire shafts for heavy armour builds.
What would you recommend to bring as greenskins if you suspect your opponent to bring a lot of single entities
If you expect your opponent is bringing a lot of (large) single entities, you can do a couple things 1. bring a second spider, 2. try to win on infantry alone (e.g. capture weight), 3. bring gorbad instead of wurzag and one or two spiders. Depends on the single entities I guess and how dangerous to your infantry they are.
for countering SE bring mangy marauders ( ror Wolfs), if the SEs are large , then bring 2 bolt throwers , spider archers and rusty arrows. You can also use goblin and ork shaman missile spells to chip away 500-700 hp per overcast. If the SE are foot characters, avoid them, ignore them and focus on taking out opponent’s mobility, then infantry
Alternatively , go full gork : bring an orc shaman with all the melee buffs and 2 giants to snipe SE. Have fun
@@ZESTdabest Great suggestions, thanks!
I feel if you don’t delete your proposed build and still go through the units one by one it’s nice, cause then one can already think the units more in context of what else will be in the build aswell
Thanks for the feedback! I think I like deleting and go through the units one by one so we can focus on them one at a time, and then add my overall discussion of how they contribute to the build later. But also I could talk a little more meta about the army, and why THIS build works specifically
Awesome. I've been playing through a Gorbad campaign, so I may try them out in multi-player. Thanks!
Definitely give them a try, they're a ton of fun!
It Is important to save build under general banner xD I mention that base on my mistakes :D, there is an issue when you want load pre made build its searching regards to banner, not faction in quick match
Man, you're eally underated, deserve way more subs!
Thanks and thanks for watching!
just waywatchers have more archer range with 190 ig
Thanks for the reminder!
😅
No dogs?
Great question! I forgot to mention it in the video but ScrambledEgg recommended not bringing them for beginners, much for the same reason that I don't recommend too much light cav in other factions, they trade down heavily into most things, so they have some uses as blocking backline dives, but they're very hard to use effectively, so a unit you want to phase in as you get more comfortable with the faction
@HitmanHippo that makes sense
What are you thinking about shadow warriors/walkers and Alit Anar? They are my favourite elves around
Both are fine, neither are amazing IMO. But I do really like the shadow walkers and probably are good in some match ups. Alith Anar can do some respectable poke, though it's slow. So playing these units is super kite-heavy, which is fine, but a bit hard for beginners and even top level players to pull off.
Thank you for the beginner domination army guides. It makes it a little less daunting for folks like myself
Glad to hear you're enjoying them! More content on the way!
Awesome build. Huge fan of the vampire coast, although it can be pretty tough to get the guns to shoot depending on the map. Thanks for showing the formation, as that's huge, especially if you've never used a gun line faction like this. Looking forward to the formations video as well!
Vampire Coast has such a cool aesthetics but it can be hard to start with them, and definintely a lot of their success is about waiting to engage and formations, so it felt extra important! Glad you liked it!
