Home of the Two Left Feet Podcast!
My goal is to give a voice to amazing performance dancer's and instructors.
A lot of times we only see them perform.
But they have so much more than that to offer !
Performs and instructors have a voice, a story, and experience. They have tips/hints. Value to give to people outside of their amazing choreography.
I just want to facilitate spreading their voice/story via podcast.

5 Reasons to Take a Dance Class in 2024
Hope more videos come
ive been listening to Specifics forever man! You guys are fucking awesome!
Man wtf. I found golden boy on Reddit. Still trying to get my albums signed lmao.
Those are my parents
All these years, and I just found out he grew up 75km from me? Wild lol Thank you so much for this, dude. Props.
Those demos make me wanna learn kizomba
I had some doubtful thoughts that I had to go through. I was wrong for allowing them to go from emotion to thoughts.
bro i was listening to this just on my headphones and that WO WO WO WO scared the fuck out of me
Excellent advice..many gems dropped 👌🏾
He talks like a dance physicist. I love his approach Keen to hear more teachers who talk about and understand dance this way
This interview was very touching. Mr. Ogden has been through and overcame so much
Excellent snippet
😄😄😃😃
Thank you so much for this interview from which I've learned a lot
What's a practice team?🤔 (Kizomba dancer from South Africa here 🇿🇦)
Exactly how it sounds. They just practice. A little different than a performance team which also practices and performs. I understand how it may sound weird. I guess you could honestly just call it a weekly class
@@twoleftfeetpodcast9996 I love it. I’ve also heard the term “practica” being thrown around. Where do you guys usually meet? Do you invite a teacher to lead it? Or do you just play music then each dance couple can practice whatever they want to practice? Might actually be a good episode idea. I’m still going through your catalogue but it would be a really good thing to unpack
@thaboshikwambane5578 honestly I am not an instructor, just a lover of kizomba. But yes you are correct, it is a great opportunity. How is the dance scene in South Africa?
@@twoleftfeetpodcast9996 Dance scene is quite good but still growing. We have a number of Angolans and Mozambicans here so we're quite close to the source of the information. We have urban kiz on one side of the country (Cape Town) and classical kizomba on one side of the country (Johannesburg). We have about 3/4 kizomba schools in Johannesburg and we have 3/4 SBK socials per week. About 40 people will pitch at a social - we have 2/3 big festivals with international artists per year. Rico Suave's coming this year. Mestre Pechu's coming next month
@@twoleftfeetpodcast9996 How did you start your practice team? How many are you? How do you guys run the practice team?
Very good advise because you were you will end up, learn different dancing while you are young and enjoy it while you're young and the experiences that you gain .❤🎉😂 good advise 👌
Gracias por esta entrevista, queremos massss

Its almost like watching a puzzle be configured and the pieces not interrupting one another.

That's some mean footwork

NYC salsa is Puerto Rican Salsa 😂😂😂

Bring out a new album!
your feet seem so slippery on that floor
Inspiring interview, thank you 🫶
Thank You !!!!
I’ll just kindly ask for a link to the first 2 salsa clips 🙏
unfortunately, I cannot find the clip of the first video. here is the second. instagram.com/reel/C3ado3NrYsc/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
The feeling of getting rejected hurts! Because I know that feeling, I always say yes if someone asks me, just because I don’t want others to go through that same feeling. I feel we should all treat each other with respect and have fun. End of day, no matter how experienced we get, we are all still learning and trying to improve! Even the best instructors go to workshops to learn new content to better themselves!
Interesting
Keep heels and toes straight and put more emphasis on raising your heels and you good
I'll focus on it Thanks man !
Crazy how casual it all is to him. I found their music way late, like 2018, but I think it's some of the best hip hop ever made. Songs they made sounded like they might come from people who might stay in hip hop their whole lives, you know? Sad there's no more but Golden Boy seems like a solid dude. Nice interview 👍
You really should be doing that in socks. Bare feet stick to the floor, you'll never get the slide right.
Specifcs is the illest. Dont get it twist
😠 "Promo sm"
I don't know what this means ? Am I promoting something?
Just found out about Dufferin '83 thanks to this, more CoatesTwice 😎
Happy to hear both Think Twice and Golden are skateboarders, that's when I listen to Specifics most 🤙 Stars, F-ck That, Esto Es, and Morning After Blues are my favorite ones from his solo projects
I'm very happy that Golden Boy is doing well ✌️ I love Specifics, favorite songs are Look Alive, With J, Beach of Life. When The Smoke Clears verse is 🔥🔥 btw
Profound

One of the traits of a good intructor is being able to teach the same dance concept in many different ways depending upon the needs of the student in front of you.
I agree 100%
could you make a video how festival dancers don't get sleep since dancing take place through out the night and how it impact dancing
Great Idea. I am curious what brought this to your mind ? Recent festival ??
@@twoleftfeetpodcast9996 yes it seems like all high level dancing take place after midnight for these big events which is exhausting. If it were earlier more people would participate
“Weed will help you skip some, music gets you thru the ones you Must solve..”
Man i know golden boy and think twice got at least one more in them and i gurantee it will do numbers especially this day and age
Ive been looking for any and everything specifics since Nujabes died in 2010. Holy shit i am beyond happy!
<3
Glad u are back 🎉
😀😄😁🥰🥰
bring us specifics 3, its never too late 🙏🏻
That makes me so happy to hear Phil saying he doesn't like how he went out and he'd like to make something again. Judging by what he did for Dufferin 83 with Coates and them a few years ago I'd say he's definitely still got it! These days with all the streaming and how much simpler it is I think they'd be able to have a decent amount of success if him/they do release anything, they could reach alot more people alot easier. We all wanna hear it Phil!
Golden boy if you happen to read this, start a podcast my man, or just a social media page! i love the idea of doing freestyles on twitch or something! Have on other undeground artists from that era and just kick some flows and tell stories about what you guys experienced. Personally id absolutely love that and im sure others would as well! It'd be cool to hear from jesse maxwell and the 49ers and coates and whoever else you could get to come on! It would be nice to be able to follow you somewhere. Also it wouldve been cool to hear about that specifics 3 mix that was released, what happened to it, did any full songs get finished? Does thinktwice have the instrumentals kicking around? I f***ing love specifics man, you guys music holds a real special place in my heart❤ it was the soundtrack to some of the best/most fun years of my life, It would be so damn cool to be able to hear more from you. Best of luck in your future endeavors G! This interview was a real treat.
😁😁 glad you enjoyed it !!
Yo where can i find these 3 first albums he talks about at 18:51 ???? I NEED to hear them lol
Me personally I go to dance congresses for the socials. It’s great dancing. I’m sure the lessons are good but if I learn too much I won’t retain most of it. I take lessons at home in studios (NYC) in which the learning is much slower and relaxed and the retention much better.
