Fun fact, you can 'dupe' gel sac seeds by knifing them until there is 1 hit left, picking up the gel sac and putting it back in the planter. Saves a lot of time!

Guess he doesn't know the Gel Sack trick. Plant a grown one, slash it twice, pick it up, and repeat. Picking up and replanting the grown one refreshes its seed count. You can get unlimited seeds from just one grown plant.

To be fair, you could have visited lifepod 4 right at start - you are getting there following a storyline clue (it just happens to be placed right betwen your starting location and your destination, almost as if they wanted you to bump into it)

I don't think I've ever seen those floating islands...and for sure I didn't know purple pinecones were in this game until this series. It was fun watching you go through the Crossroads b/c I spotted the exact spot I built my 2nd base. I was happy with the location and design...but I didn't end up using it a lot. I thought it could still be helpful, but I had the Cyclops at that point so....not so much. I had power cell chargers there, but the Cyclops has a long battery life, even with the modules I put in, and the Prawn Suit docked.

It's been a while since I played Subnautica, but don't you lose oxygen incredibly fast under certain depths? How do you circumvent that for these vehicle-less runs?

I think the lifepod's location, floating directly between the aurora's bow and the shallows, qualifies it as per the "lore before explore" rule. And even if it does have a radio message, you'd have heard it by now.
