GSXR750 K5 1/4 Mile

1/4 mile at the Carterton Motorcyle Sprint near Wellington, New Zealand. My fastest run was 11.08 secs. Still not bad for my first go on a 3 year old 750 with all road gear still on. Only mods are a Yoshimura slip on can and DNA filter.
GSXR750 K5 Flying 1/4 Mile

Flying 1/4 mile at the Carterton Motorcyle Sprint near Wellington, New Zealand. My fastest run was at an average speed of 269 km in 5.38 seconds. The speedo just clicked on 299 as I crossed the finish, damn bike manufacturers! Still not bad for a 3 year old 750 with all road gear still on. Only mods are a Yoshimura slip on can and DNA filter.
My R6 race bike went pop last week and i have a track day coming up. I am going to take my CB. Any tips on set up? Do you run a steering damper - I can imagine it would be a nightmare without one
Hi, I never had a steering damper and wasn't an issue. Suspension was very soft and it used to eat rear tyres when pushed, replacing shim stack front and rear made a huge difference.
I've just bought one of these they are stupid fast!
I remember doing this with a former .220 Swift 40gr 4,200fps muzzle. Needless to say, the bullet didn't ricochet.
Awesome video! I'm going to test ride one tomorrow.
Very good biker! 👍
This video was so inspirational, that I went and bought the CB 2 years ago. Love affair ever since 😉
Μαt you are bat shit crazy..Great video .Loved it!
Your bike is sliding clutch ? It comes standard ? if you installed which managed to buy ? Thank you !
great ride Mat. really enjoyed that. could you tell me please if you changed your rear shock and what brand it is? thanks!
Hi, glad you enjoyed! I actually had the factory rear shock re-valved by a local suspension technician which made a huge difference.
Awesome mate !!
2:25, nice. pfff, superbikes.
finally someone on youtube that can pilot a cb1000
But still not good enough ...
epic ! :D
Very nice :-))
That bump freaked me out haha
Oh man, bump at 2:20!
Cheers. I've done a few things. suspension re-valved, pipe, filter, power commander.
Hi, it's a closed road event.
how is possible that the street looks so desert ??
@bilbynz Yeah man, that was me, no worries.
Did you give me a ride back around to the pits after the event was shut down? (sidecar passenger) If your are thanks for the ride dude :)
WAFGC
@Csirkefoga Yeah, I'd highly recommend it as a road and trackday bike. It's pretty comfortable to ride at all but really high speed when the wind starts getting a bit tiresome, and easy to ride fast imho. If you've got a good suspension tech nearby get it re-valved front and rear, it's pretty average from factory.
@rectusdominus I'm thinking about buying this bike. When I see You ride it, I'm thinking to myself I'd be riding it the same way. That's kinda scary :-)
@Csirkefoga Cheers. I was more scared watching the video afterwards than at the time.
@cb1kr It's probably only 135 at the crank. I don't think I could manage any more.
Sweet ride. You obviously don't get scared easily. :-)
hey nice vid, how much hp does ure bike have ?
Nice vid man! We need to go back and shoot some more!
While I'm not a fan of soundtrack over engine in general, this isn't bad. The rhythm is a nice fit to the action on screen. Plus, you didn't completely drowned the sweet sound of motor out, so that gets another thumbs up. :)
Awesome!!! At the step of ss!! What tires were you on?
very nice !!!
@Rodiak41 Dude, it's a flying 1/4 mile... The start line is around 0.38. You should learn to use a shift key before calling people idiots.
does anyone else notice he claims his bike will do 269 kmh, in 5 seconds? that is impossible lol idiot
What a jew......
@rectusdominus Oh it doesnt feel good. He was going a decent speed. asphalt is unforgiving. I hit a telephone in my teenage years. I remember flying though the air thinking "This is not gonna be good" but I'm typing this right now so..... I can't stand seeing accidents. I work in a trauma center, surgical unit.
@ProjectCarTV Yeah, definitely noob lines and pushing beyond ability. Apparently he's actually pretty badly hurt. It doesn't look that bad but he must have hit the ground hard! Bugger :(
Lucky. Could have been a lot worse. I agree with Csirkefoga - bad lines from n00bs. Good video otherwise.
Some of these guys are taking horrile lines. You're on a naked and You're still losing a lot of them sportsbike riders... Good job:-) poor guy on that 848
Excellent riding mate, u own this track!
Excellent ride, excellent song.
@PSCadu Cheers man. It's the instrumental of Soundtrack to Forever by Bulletproof.
Nice ride mate...thumbs up. Can you tell me the name of the song in the initial minutes of the video?
Watch the intersections when you doing that shit, fucking granny pull out in front of you going to church and your ass will get 10 million hits on youtube but you will not be here to see it, BE SAFE HOMIE
@mattathm ahhh....no he wasn't. (cough)
I think he was on a 98 Suzuki bandit! Gc
@mattathm Dude, did you see the extra pace he had down the start finish straight just after? There's no way I could of kept up!
0:28, bahahahahahahahaahhaaaa GC you were looking good man, not too many people passed ya! Go get some good tyres and try again!
Was that a 1/4 mile? or did it start from the first pink to the 2nd pink line?
Idiot
