    THATS THE FASTEST WAY BUT IT IS ALSO THE WRONGEST WAY, EVERYTIME YOU SHARPEN A KNIFE YOU TAKE AWAY MATERIAL, THE BEST WAY IS A OIL STONE. WHEN YOU BUY A QUALITY KNIFE LIKE THAT BUCK KNIFE AND YOU USE THAT KNIFE CORRECTLY YOU SHOULD NEVER EVER HAVE TO SHARPEN THAT KNIFE THAT WAY, I OWN QUALITY KNIVES LIKE THAT BUCK AND I USE MY KNIVES YET I NEVER NEED TO USE A BELT LIKE THAT, I HAVE AN OIL STONE THAT I USE,THE SIZE IS ABOUT 3 INCHES LONG BY 1 INCH WIDE. PEOPLE THAT OWN QUALITY KNIVES ALWAYS MAKE THE MISTAKE OF LOANING OUT THEIR KNIVES TO SOMEONE ELSE, HELL NO, NOT ME, MY FATHER COULD NOT BORROW ONE OF MY KNIVES, THERE ALSO PEOPLE THAT BUY KNIVES AND DO KNOW HOW TO USE THEM, I CALL THEM IDIOTS, I HAD A CO-WORKER THAT BOUGHT A BRAND NEW BUCK FOLDING KNIFE AND IN NO TIME THE TIP OF THE BLADE WAS BROKEN OFF...P.S.I KNOW THE WORD WRONGEST DOES NOT EXIST...😂.

    Lots of shade and nitpicking here. Thanks for sharing, I use belts and am relatively new at it. I've yet to try jumping from 220 or even 600 to a strop, thinking that grit progression was needed for burr removal. I'll be experimenting, thank you again for sharing. Edit. Re: edge leading on the belts. I've seen Curry Custom Cutlery do edge leading a few times in their videos and they explained that it takes skill to not cut belts but that they find it necessary to run in that direction at times.

    The problem I have is the seam in the belts cause very small gouges in my edge, if you know what I mean. Then I moved the blade up off the metal backstop on the grinder but that puts a convex edge on the blade. Thoughts?

    Why not return it? 🤔 Anyway, never saw either of those meters. Didn't know HF was offering a crappier-still option than their Centech stuff. (Were those caps on the ends of the probes removeable to allow you to probe that socket better?) I use a Southwire TRMS meter with an AC/DC amp clamp, I don't recall the model number (it's O-K, not outstanding). I paid too much for it in the hardware store. Out of my collection of DMMs, my favorite was the General DMM550 true RMS meter, but it had no clamp and didn't survive its encounter with ethylene glycol, and it became WAYYYY overpriced in Biden's America... 😒🙄🤨

      @dustinmartin22250 lol I'm the owner of Boston Industrial Honing. we have over 50 machines. Your knife is upside-down and without a jig or fixture you can't possibly know the bevel

    • @dustinmartin22250
      @dustinmartin22250 8 місяців тому

      What does it matter what the bevel angle is? Its really close to 20 degrees and as long as it shaves hair its sharp, doing it upside down does exactly the same thing, go watch J Neilson sharpen a knife, I learned it from him. He is one of the best knife makers in the world. I would remove your comments but you are making yourself look so stupid I want everyone to see it

    • @johnpower8356
      @johnpower8356 8 місяців тому

      It matters there should be a primary and secondary angle, not to mention hollow ground or thinned, it will determine how long your blade stays sharp, also effects the resharpening time when you only have to refresh the primary bevel and can ignore the 2nd, you will keep touching up the primary and eventually have to redress the 2nd as it dissappears

    • @chrisvonpimpenstein
      @chrisvonpimpenstein 6 місяців тому

      The blade is oriented correctly, edge down. Flipping it would catch the knife. Stone into the edge, belt away. Btw the primary on that knife is the hollow. You dont touch that unless thinning. Nothing you are saying makes any sense.

It was with a gage (a rod) inside the bore, to indicate it on the chamber side only. They say that since barrels aren't perfectly straight inside there's no use do indicate he crown side too. I know that indicating between centers as you do also work well and is faster.

      These had the namesake first . Meet the most accurate firearm system ever devised. When everyone else wants 1moa to o.3 moa for hunting ,snipingbamd long range shooting, these guys want 0.1 moa groups for casual shooting accuracy and 0.05 moa or better groups for serious 200 yard benchrest competition. They will often mechanically balance their bullets to make sure they spin around center axis perfectly and add enhancement features like nose ring cuts and lathe turned meplats to gain consistency. It's pretty intense competition .

    It's a railgun, and it's all about dialing in accuracy by means of case preparation, load development, trigger pull weight, knowing when to fire, etc. I had the pleasure of shooting one at a local range, and its trigger pull was set at 2 ounces and it surprised me how light of touch it was when it went off. Crazy it nearly shot a 5 shot one hole group at 100 yrds, and the guy said it can do better.
