1956 GMC 100 First Start
Here is my 1956 GMC. 248 inline 6 with 3 speed.
Got the beast to fire up today since most likely the 80's.
The video gets cut short at the end because of the wasp attack and I am extremely allergic. I will post more videos as bring this truck back to roadworthy condition.
Thanks for watching
Sorry for the low volume. I forgot to change out the back plate on my GoPro case.
You can hear it better with earphones on.

Here's a video I made for my buddy Mr David since he is selling the truck. This is the final run in the backwoods of Louisiana before the truck gets picked up. He still has a knack for the two sticks even after his recent brain surgery a little over 5 months ago.

This is my truck. It has a BD-264 with a 220 head, a 5 speed tranny, and single speed rear. I got the truck running in August after sitting 35 years in a farmer's pasture. This model was only made for one year and approximately 1,500 were made. It was a road tractor and had a 142 inch wheelbase until the farmer bought it and made it 154 inch wheelbase. I'm slowly working on it and hope to get i...

Absolutely enjoyed the video watching you float gears in the "Midnight Flyer" David. Great respect for you and your passion for trucks. I still remember crying when my Dad sold his Autocar when I was about 7 or 8 years old, so I definitely understand how you can fall in love with a truck, or TRUCKS :)

Talk about a pro shifting the gears! One hand clear thru the wheel and still never misses a gear or jerks back and forth. That’s a pure art.

My uncle ran for Waggoner out of Oklahoma in 56 bull nose. I damn near broke my arm learning to shift that damn truck. God awful faded green color. Miss the "ol bitch" as uncle Bill called her.

I can’t help but watching this video every few weeks. Mr David is as smooth as glass easing in and out on those gears. He drove a real tractor and sounds like the Midnight Rider took good care of him. Thanks again for this video!!

My first memory of my dad driving was going to a cubing plant in Sacramento or Stockton don’t remember which now. It was a cab over Freightliner I think but was a twin stick. That was the most amazing thing I had ever seen. Watching him go through the gears, both hands shifting and his arm going through the steering wheel at the right moment, listening to the Jake slowing us down. Thank you for this memory.

My neighbor friend's dad was a truck driver and I thought those old trucks were so cool back in the early sixties. I still wish I had driven a big rig for a few years just for the experience. Now I'm too old to try it out.

He drove that thing the way I drove my '84 K100- left foot flat on the floor, while going up through the gears. I would use the clutch when I downshifted, but almost never while going up. Granted it was just a nine-speed but still, it wasn't a creampuff!
