Open XCom - C-Squad vs a Hybrid Castle
This is a much more even battle compared to the last Hybrid Castle. The Hybrids don't have the firepower of the XCom operatives, but there are a lot of them and the C-Squad doesn't have much in the way of armor. So the shots are firing everywhere! There's explosions! And there's some lucky shooting that gets the crew through this NIGHT mission. After never seeing a Hybrid Castle ever before, now I've ran into a couple close together. Interesting. Enjoy seeing these less experienced XCom operatives take on a dangerous pack of Hybrids.

With all my playing of Open XCom, I've never come across a map like this. I was pretty happy that I was recording! There is one building and it looks a lot like a medieval castle... pretty cool. It is full of hybrids. They're not particularly dangerous to the B Squad, but there sure are a lot of them! So the carnage is constant. Enjoy.

There were a few fun surprises in this quick video where the team goes to explore a shot down Sectoid ship. Ready to rock and roll, they're thinking this will be a quick and easy mission. However, the Sectoids are not going to go down without a fight! With how the ship was pretty beat up when shot down, I was amazed the kind of fight these Sectoids put up.

OpenXCom - the team takes down a large ship

In this episode of Open XCom, the operatives infiltrate a large ship. There are some good moments where one operative takes a whole bunch of shots and just won't go down. Also, the alien leader just will not be stunned. Also, see a sentinel robot in action... they're fun to use even though it is a lousy, lousy shot in this episode.

An Alien base showed up in Europe. First time I've ever had a ship get there at the same time as the base popped up and the alien craft was still around. I had to choose. I chose the base. I did a couple re-loads on this one, as it was fairly tough and a couple of the hits I took would have been devastating to the squad. Is it on pc? I used to play it on amiga 1200. It's poorer colours on your version.
@@greggiekwik9463 yes, this is on PC. Can't say I've ever seen the Amiga 1200 version.
I loved "this" game on the PlayStation 1. But it also had a nice soundtrack. I think open-source games should use something like Suno to make some nice AI generated background music.
@@NoidoDev there's prob a way to mod that in... if one were inclined to figure it out. I do enjoy the classic ST. Played it back in the day on Playstation (needed the mouse!) and on PC. OpenXCom is my fav, though.
@@welcometothejunkyard6792 I just looked at a video of the PlayStation version. It just really looks nice, and the music elevates it.
What are those yellow suits?
@@TheOrdomalleus666 in open xcom there are some additional armor types to research, over the standard version. That's the heaviest type. It's fun!

@@the-lettere heck yes, that would be awesome and also kinda hilarious 😂. I've not looked into if there are any tftd mods out there, but I would think that idea would be doable 🤷♂️

I didn't do any voice audio on this one. I may in the future. I do have the setup.
WTF I played X com back in the day, those are some well behaved puppers. Is this a specific mod? I want to play again, was considering openxcom, but I like the classic look, so maybe it is back to Dosbox.
It is Open Xcom. Worth checking out. Lots of options for the classic game. Might be worth your time to get the game off Steam if you want to avoid dos box... I picked it up at some point on sale, a bundle with all the classics
The dogs are fun. For missions, you can only bring one. But if your base is attacked, you can use all you have in the inventory there. I stock all bases w a bunch of dogs! 😅
Have you tried the 40k mod with rosigma for oxce? Its heavenly
I have not. But I do like 40k. Perhaps I need to.
@@welcometothejunkyard6792 definitely there's arbiters sisters of battle chamber militia space Marines and imperial guard Rosigma adds alot of stuff that enhances the regular mod really good if you like 40k and XCOM perfect blend as well as crafts have customizable turrets on the battlescape.

Yea. Lost 2 dudes and 2 dogs but not my key soldiers. I like to play with that risk... helps it feel immersive for me. But got those saves in case those aliens get particularly brutal... it's not iron man after all.
How well trained is that dog to be opening doors like that?
weeeeell, supposedly they're hyper intelligent cyber pups, but I'm sure it was just more convenient for game play to leave em that way :-D
