I have tears in the superspranatus as well as a calcification deposit the size of a sugar cube. Obviously this will stress the tears. My concern is that the tears are causing most of my pain and that this surgery causes more tears/ incisions. What percentage of you patients actually feel better being that there are new tears/ incisions???
Had my Rotator cuff sergery its been one year and l am still having pain, long recovery
He didn't have total replacement..that's why he's able to do that...impossible with total replacement
Hi, I just saw a surgeon yesterday and he recommended a full shoulder replacement. I'm hopeful of getting back into the gym as I'm 53 and keeping fit is a big part of my life.. So you don't believe he had a full shoulder replacement?
@gstar1309 no I don't think so at all. I'm a 45 year old bodybuilder who had a shoulder replacement 9 months ago..and it is impossible to bench that much after the surgery. Let alone that soon. I still lift weights but..benching is out of the question
If scratching the glenoid can stimulate cartilage regrowth then why don't you do that with the humeral head too?
Nice. Who did your procedure and was it your right or left shoulder?
What type of replacement surgery did you do? Reverse shoulder?
Can you do this surgery without the ugly scar? Either hide it in the axillary fold or arthroscopically?
This is horrid, I still have to use my other arm to get it on! Feels awesome….so much sarcasm!🤬
I'm 37 and was told I have moderate arthritis and will need a shoulder replacement at some point in my life. The ream and run looks like the best surgery to continue being active after. I'm hoping to be able to do it when I need to. Hopefully that's not for a few decades though.
how are you doing now? any pain? I'm in a similar situation.
I need help I can barely give someone a hug
Thank you Dr. Carofino your team was amazing.
This is an incredibly informative video on a procedure that can keep people in their lives and activities fair longer than typical TSA would. Thank you for putting this out there!
wow, I still have too much pain after 4 months to attempt that. That is amazing.
I don't but I enjoyed the video. Thank you First!
Thanks for the demonstration and explanation!
I have to get mine replaced and my Dr didn’t say anything about this??? I’ve been weight training my whole life and I asked my Dr when will I be able to train again? He said I better take up running? WTF I almost took a swing at him. Anyway I have to wait till the first of the year to have mine done and I can’t wait to ask him about this and why this wasn’t mentioned? There’s hope finally. I can’t find anyone that talks about weight training after shoulder replacement surgery?? I wish these sports medicine Dr would talk more about it and maybe more guys would have it. I know most of them have never seen 3 plates on the flat for reps but that’s no reason to not talk about getting back in the gym.
I have had two arthroscopic releases and both times my situation was made worse. I am starting to lose the use of my arm and it is devastating.
Cliff Richards how old are you?
Sorry to hear that...
Can you give a brief back story on this? Everything I have read regarding the Ream and Run (Hemi-arthroplasty) is indicating a very long (in excess of 12 months) recovery and rehab. I do crossfit 5 days a week, one of which is focused on weightlifting. I am a 45 year old male with a prior arthroscopic slap and bicep tendon repair. Thank you.

Need right shoulder replacement, I'm very active will love give this a chance
What is the pillow for? It hurts more sometimes .
It places the patients shoulder in about 20-30 degrees of abduction. Research has shown that amount of abduction helps to take tension off the rotator cuff and actually promote blood flow to the rotator cuff. Which in turn will help the healing process.
I would much rather deal with pain than with the limitations of plastic!

Thanks. I understand now how to remove the alligator strap and cut the excess strap.
