    Simply the best outdoor jacket there is. I’ve used mine for over 500 days on hiking and general outdoor stuff. My favorite things of the jacket are those gorgeous napoleon pockets. I can put my huge hestra heli ski mittens in one pocket. The second thing is the amazing storm hood. In sub zero temperatures it is just amazing as it completely protects your face from frostbites. I’ve used this jacket on winter hikes up to -35 degrees Celsius. Lastly this jacket dries out super fast, if it is wet from rain or sweat I just hang it on a tree for a while when on camp and it will dry out super fast

    100% accurate on all levels.. when it comes to that changing poncho thingy , a person could just take a blanket or sheet sow the sides down and punch a hole for the head in the folded end and presto a changing thingy. That's a brilliant piece of gear. Or just use your wife's Moo Moo.

    great video i`m a beginner which wetsuit to buy long johns or fall wetsuit

    • @nomadseakayaking6655
      @nomadseakayaking6655 2 роки тому

      Hi Derek, we don’t recommend wet suits as we try to stay dry, and wetsuits aren’t designed for that. Wetsuits will also chafe if dry or just a little damp & people tend to swell when they are warm. The wetsuit will then become restrictive and chafe in places you do not want chafing! We suggest synthetic layers, as they dry quickly, you can layer to your own specific body (everyone feels the cold differently) and when they get wet they stay relatively warm as well as drying quickly when given the opportunity. NO COTTON OR DENIM ; these get wet, become heavy and stay cold. Alternatively we would recommend either a paddle suit or a semi-dry outfit (cag and salopette type pants) We would recommend you look at Reed Chillcheater, they have a great range, good prices & fantastic service. I hope that helps! Happy paddling, stay safe & remember to always dress for the water temp not the air temp and wear a buoyancy aid every time you get into your kayak.

  • @oregonphototrekker8894

    I found the stretching exercises really useful. I wish each step lasted longer as I had to keep pausing quickly to get it down but thanks for giving this free clinic on stretching for sea kayaking. I know you disagree, but just take it for what it’s worth. I think the comments about her on her back and comments on her “beautiful figure” were out of place, and can be demeaning. It was awkward for me to hear as I’m watching the video. She’s an athlete, and a professional. A good video will treat her like it, even if behind the scenes you’re married and she’s ok with it. My wife would likely be ok with all kinds of comments from me in private, but I’d leave them out without question if I was trying to put together a professional video or talking in front of an audience.

    You are probably better off using thick tent cord loops in place of the leather tags. The reason the tags are there is so that you can use the zips with gloves on. Anything that you can grip while wearing gloves will do. Generally something that can be replaced and repaired "in the field" is better in the long run, but perhaps less aesthetically pleasing. I personally prioritise function over form.

    Loved this! Thank you for excellent, practical tips. I am new to cold water kayaking and I have only ever kayaked in a shortie in warm weather/water. Now I am wondering how to walk into the cold sea with my kayak when I am wearing wool socks, water shoes and my base layer? Do I just go for it and stay wet?

    • @nomadseakayaking6655
      @nomadseakayaking6655 3 роки тому

      Yes is the easiest answer! A good pair of wool socks, while they will be wet, will warm and stay warm in your wet boots. You can always look at some water proof socks to wear under your boots as an alternative. They come in short and longer lengths and are another way to keep your feet dr/ dryer if this is your preference! Check out ‘sealskins’ as a brand, they work really well and we all have them in our kit at NOMAD Sea Kayaking to use when we choose to! Paddle suits we’d recommend looking at Reed Chillcheater. Another U.K. based company we use and highly recommend! Stay safe on the water! Becky NSK
