Lamu Fort History and Full Tour 🇰🇪
Kenya, Lamu Fort full tour uncut!
Honest first impressions of Lamu, Kenya
ua-cam.com/video/O0BjXdUp1H8/v-deo.html
Lamu Fort, located on Lamu Island in Kenya, is a fascinating historical site with deep roots in Swahili culture. Built between 1813 and 1821 by Sultan Fumo Madi ibn Abi Bakr, the fort was originally meant to protect the town from invaders and show off the power of the local rulers. Lamu was an important place along the Indian Ocean trade routes, and the fort played a big role in keeping it safe.
A Bit of History
At first, the fort served as a defense against enemies, especially the Omani Arabs who were gaining influence in the region. Later on, when the Omanis took over the coastal towns, including Lamu, the fort became a military base. By the time the British arrived in the 20th century, the fort was turned into a prison, a role it kept until the 1980s.
What It Looks Like
Lamu Fort is a big, tough-looking building made from coral stone and mangrove timber, materials common in Swahili architecture. It’s a rectangular structure with thick walls, high battlements, and a huge wooden door reinforced with metal. The central courtyard was used for all sorts of activities, and the two-story structure around it had rooms for offices and soldiers.
The fort’s walls are dotted with narrow windows and loopholes, which were used by archers back in the day. These features make it clear that the fort was built for defense.
What It’s Used for Now
These days, Lamu Fort isn’t used for military purposes anymore. Instead, it’s been turned into a museum and cultural center. Inside, you’ll find exhibitions that tell the story of Lamu Island and Swahili culture. It’s also a hub for cultural events and workshops, helping to keep the local traditions alive.
Lamu Fort is part of Lamu Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, recognized for its well-preserved Swahili architecture and rich history. The town is full of narrow streets, carved wooden doors, and stone buildings, giving visitors a real sense of what life was like in the old days.
Fun Facts
One of the coolest things about Lamu Fort is how it has changed over the years. It went from being a military stronghold to a prison, and now it’s a cultural center. This shows how important the fort has been to the people of Lamu through the ages.
Another interesting fact is that Lamu Island, where the fort is located, doesn’t have cars. Instead, people get around using donkeys and traditional boats called dhows. This old-school way of life adds to the charm of the fort, making it feel like you’re stepping back in time.
Visitors to Lamu Fort can explore the well-preserved building, learn about the island’s rich history, and experience Swahili culture that has thrived here for centuries. The fort’s history, architecture, and cultural significance make it a must-see spot for anyone interested in Kenya’s coastal heritage.

Andrew tatti
Yo yo I know that bald guy I really know him
Nice❤❤
Andrew Tate moved to Romania for several reasons, including: 1. **Legal Environment:** He believed that Romania's legal system was more favorable for his lifestyle and business activities compared to Western countries. 2. **Cost of Living:** Romania offers a lower cost of living, which can be appealing for individuals looking to maintain a particular lifestyle. 3. **Personal Preferences:** Tate has mentioned enjoying the culture and lifestyle in Romania, as well as its relative privacy compared to other countries. 4. **Business Opportunities:** He has been involved in various online businesses and ventures, which he believed could thrive in Romania. If you have more specific questions or want to discuss this further, let me know!
ROMANIA IS HELL !

Sper sa plece gunoiul aia si sa nu mai vina alții ca el🙄
pimpin business
Why? Because it's a poor, third word country where you can bribe Police and get away with crime. Up to a certain point. But he pushed his luck, and incriminated himself with hundres of hours of content published online admitting to crimes - like the massive moron he is.
Because he thought he could just pay off the authorities when they come down on him for his sex trafficking business
Because he fought he can go away with crime, and find cheap girls for video-chat
He likes gypsyes
Looks gay as fuck to me
Tanzania's main language is swahili only english language is not Tanzanian so they only speak for emergency only like visitors from other countries coming English is not the language of Tanzania 🇹🇿My country... Habibi welcome to Tanzania 🇹🇿 .. HAKUNA MATATA 🤗🤗
Română e foarte bine e frumos acolo tot
Because he wished Prison😂😂😂😂
Because he wished Prison😂😂😂😂
Niste borfași de doi bani
😂😂😂 every eritreans and ethiopians know East Europe is low valued caucasian nations of Europe where criminals that have White skin can get away with criminality and human trafficking❤ Romania is not secured like Denmark sweden Norway it is the land of gypsy people
Bc rape crimes aren’t charged
Proxenetism
You move your business where the cheap labour is. His business was pimping and unfortunately Romania has too many gorgeous, very young girls willing to sell themselves, or an online version of themselves for easy money. The fact that it has one of the fastest Internet in Europe and most of the $$ he makes comes from online, the fact that it's relatively cheap to live even a lavish lifestyle and is very safe compared to the Western countries didn't hurt either, BUT they were here to make money on the backs of young girls... and they did make millions. He only relaxed with the pimping of young girls when he discovered he could make WAY WAY more money by pimping millions of young boys that were working for free, spreading his clips everywhere, or paying him monthly😮.
Smeurica de la mare te bronzează pe la coaie 🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅 o fOsT bUnA rImA🔥✨🔥✨🔥

Is this a new channel?? What about the other one what happened??
This is a channel for extra content. Some topics are too niche to be published on the main one.
Very nice video, Michele. Wow! that's a really big library. I could only imagine the amount of readers it could host. Thank you for sharing your tour. I enjoyed watching 👍👍👍
Thank you Mike!
Quite interesting! A fun tour and educational besides! Your suggestion of turning the fortress into a club sounded like a good idea. But as your guide mentioned, religion pretty much dictates what does and does not happen in Lamu. I guess you’ll just have to book a flight to Phuket, Thailand if you want that party atmosphere. Thanks for sharing, and sending best wishes to you while celebrating with your family in Rome! 👏😁💯🙏
In Italy it would be a perfect venue for weddings!
New banana
Andrew Tate moved to Romania because Romania doesn't have too much tax
❤❤❤❤
he wanted to see vlad iii, thats the answer
He runs webchat houses for girls to show themselves for money, he also runs illegal underground escort services, and also runs casinos and evades taxes (for now) nightlife has nothing to do with this, he’s hunted by gypsy clans so he needs 20 people watching him everyday
Had nothing to do with crimes related to sex sometimes overlooked when willing to bribe
This guy has no sense. He basically snitched on himself in this podcast 😂
Romania is lovely
I can here from here your Italian accent
Our women are not fat.
Never let little John cook again
Bcs he is stupid
Ponte, watch one of Kino Yev content where he did the Hair cut.
Your apartment looks pretty good for the money. I did not see any A/C there, so I’m curious if it’s not needed in Nairobi? You’re looking good. On the other hand, I’ve been laid up with the flu for two days now, hoping tomorrow I will find relief. Take care!
In Nairobi the temperatures is optimal the entire year, on the coast instead without AC or fan, it's terrible! Get well soon!
